she whispers, as she silently wept. ============================== Kei ran like a madman as he is dashing through the hospital's hallway where Uncle Onodera is confined. He received an emergency call from Aunt Francia, and she told him that the old man's condition has worsened due to the complications on his heart. He is now transferred to the Intensive Care Unit for observation. Uncle Onodera needs to have an open heart surgery as soon as possible, but he's still on a waiting list for heart donor recipients...

Heart Savior

Heart Savior

Swiftly flicking his cigarette, he forcefully turned the steering wheel in the opposite direction, causing the car to spin in circles around the girl. On the other side, Hiya, with her heart pounding, witnessed a black Mercedes approaching rapidly. Overwhelmed with fear, she clasped her hands over her ears and shut her eyes tightly, anticipating an imminent tragedy. In that moment, she believed it was her last day in this world, facing an inevitable and untimely demise.

The Chosen One

The Chosen One

After all, he was just human, and he didn't stand a chance against their creatures. When Diana looked up with the same coldness, she knew that when there was no love in their eyes and no humanity left, all she could see was deadness. She felt their zombie nature arrive without fanfare because everyone got turned off so slowly by the magic that made them look alive that they didn't see or feel it coming. Then they looked out with their dead eyes and thought the living ones were quite mad, but she knew there was no humanity left in them. Their eye, which has lost the ability to show real and deep love and to be a gateway to their own soul, is already dead. Diana saw them and wanted to give the

Hacked Hearts

Ray Parker’s haughty cackle was the one to haunt me forever. “So are we burning that fish now?” I stared at the talking fish in ultimate horror. “Is-” I took in a shaky breath, clutching on the couch for support, afraid that I might faint from shock and fear. “Is that Ray?” “I am afraid so.” Zivah’s voice shook, coming closer to me. I could feel the waves of fear coming from her too. “Do you think he can see and hear us?” she whispered into my ears. I continued to look at the deadly fish, not knowing what to answer to that.

Chasing the Wife He couldn't Love: Ex-Husband's Regret

Chasing the Wife He couldn't Love: Ex-Husband's Regret

We sat in the cramped, red-lit cabin, listening to the hum of the engine. "The Heart is a physical machine," Ghost explained as he steered. "It’s hidden beneath the Oval Office. It’s a giant crystal made of nanotech. It vibrates at a frequency that matches the human heart. That’s how he controls them." "How do we stop it?" I asked. "We don't just stop it," Mom said. She looked at me, her blue wires glowing in the dark. "We have to reverse it. We have to use a different code. A code that breaks the rhythm."

The Endgame Chronicles

The Endgame Chronicles(The Apocalyptic Queen Theresa)(Supreme Survivor In The Zombie Apocalypse)

Leonard reacted immediately, unleashing a powerful water stream in the direction she indicated. Boom! The high-pressure blast smashed through a supporting pillar, sending rubble crashing down. The Gifted zombie was buried under the falling debris. "Center, keep going!" Hayley ordered coldly. Leonard aimed his water stream again, driving it through the rubble and striking the zombie's head. In Hayley's psychic field, the sandy-colored zombie disappeared, leaving behind a tiny, glowing earth-colored crystal. A level-3 crystal core. "It's gone," Hayley said, opening her eyes.

This is by far and beyond the best book I've read in a long time! It kept me so engaged that I had a lot of sleepless nights and I had to force myself to put it down. If it was in book form, I would buy it in a heartbeat! Thank you Hugh White for writing and publishing this book. it's the story of a

Worth the read, well written and has a decent plot. The characters generally have a lot of depth, although one or two have been a little strange, maybe written that way on purpose. The FMC sometimes feels a little too cold, and vengeful, but again part of her character... I will continue reading!

The Transcendent Zombie System

The Transcendent Zombie System

Biggy, White Doll, Scarlet, Rayne, Sven the swordsman, and Skeletal Lady gathered around Lucas. "Master!" the six zombies called out at the same time. Lucas nodded and found himself a place to sit before he spoke. Even though they had not killed the Rank 9 Undead Skeletal Heavy Swordsman and the Rank 9 Mad Ox Dark Race, the injuries they had suffered were huge. It would perhaps even take some time for them to recuperate. Lucas thought that it would be best to look for the Dark Heart for the time being. The Dark Heart was a heart that had been left behind by a Rank 10 Dark Race. Perhaps it would give Lucas an unexpected effect.

I genuinely love this book, only problems I have with it is the fact that he never actually travels with the people he gets to join him (hattie Mia etc) I wish there were more interaction between them all. second is that there are only 2 or so chapters a day....I have plenty of coins to waste...

Do not awaken the Undead king

Do not awaken the Undead king

A doll with only his eyes alive. Then, the woman rolled towards him. The wheels squeaked. In the quiet of the corridor, the black mage’s heavy and strained breath was setting the zombie’s acute hearing on edge. Now threatened with death, the zombie’s brain canceled his master’s ban: Zomzom was no longer afraid of killing. He felt his own will become stronger. He felt he could sink his teeth into anyone’s thin neck without any trouble. He could tear their chest to pieces with his claws, to get to their soft heart. He looked at Livia, and even her diseased state didn’t dull his hunger.

 Love, Lust and Blood

Love, Lust and Blood

I pointed out. Zack roared and made his way toward me. I made it look so quick; he jumped up, ready to pounce on me, but I stabbed my hand into his chest and ripped his heart out. He squeaked and dropped to the ground dead. I stared at his heart and squeezed it in my hand. It burst into pieces, and I dropped it. My heart began aching, and so did my head. The pain was excruciating, and I dropped to my knees once more. I gripped the grass in agony. I finally fell to the ground and went into oblivion.

Frequently Asked Questions

The heart symbolism in 'Rhythm of the Dead' is woven so deeply into the narrative that it feels like a character itself. At first glance, the game uses hearts as a literal health mechanic—pretty standard for a rhythm-based survival title. But dig deeper, and they become a metaphor for connection. Each beat you match isn’t just keeping your avatar alive; it’s syncing with the memories of lost souls, their 'heartbeats' echoing in the soundtrack. The crimson visuals during boss fights aren’t just flashy—they pulse like a terrified heartbeat when you’re overwhelmed. Even the collectibles shaped like shattered heart fragments hint at rebuilding what the apocalypse tore apart. It’s brilliant how something so simple becomes this layered commentary on resilience.

What stuck with me was the final level, where the screen fades to a single glowing heart matching your controller’s rumble. No HUD, just raw vulnerability. I actually paused because it hit too close—like the game knew I’d been playing to escape my own loneliness. That’s when I realized 'Rhythm of the Dead' wasn’t about surviving zombies; it was about remembering how to feel alive.
