One night, we ended up on the roof of the apartment building, blankets wrapped around us, the city glowing quietly below.
“Promise me something?” Cameron asked suddenly.
“Depends,” I said. “Is it illegal?”
He rolled his eyes. “Promise you’ll tell me if you start pulling away.”
I sobered. “You too.”
“I will,” he said. “Even when it’s hard.”
