The Substitute's pain

The Substitute's pain

Jane could only stare at the witch in front of her as her face held pain and suffering. “We are not talking of any small push-over family here, we are speaking of The Millers as in the owners of Miller Corporation! The same family that chose to marry a low life like you and also make you the young madam of the Miller home, and you dare call their heir a cripple”

Our Story Ends on the Hundredth Page

Our Story Ends on the Hundredth Page

"There's more, too. Apparently, the best friend's family is broke, and the harpist paid for all four years of her college tuition. Talk about nursing a viper." International viewers were just as shocked. Even my new friend, Alice Whitfield, was so upset she stress-ate three plates of buffalo wings. "Ivy, your life has been a disaster. "But don't worry. I would never betray you. Not only would I never betray you, but I'm going to set you up with my brother." I shook my head. "I can't. I promised my grandparents I'd move back home eventually." They raised me close, and settling down this far away would only worry them.

Divorce Me? Get on Your Knees First

Divorce Me? Get on Your Knees First

"I should be the one splashing wine here. Back then, when you were kneeling outside the Miller residence, begging my parents to take you in, you weren't so cocky. "You cried and swore you'd repay me for the rest of your life, but now, you stole my wife—your niece. Is this how you repay me?" For a brief second, the room fell silent. Then, an even louder laughter erupted. "Wait. The Millers? You've got to be kidding. A broke nobody pretending to be the heir of the richest family in the country. He probably heard the real heir rarely stayed in the country and thought he could bluff his way through."

Ok so I’m now on chapter 1286 and it’s getting ridiculous. It’s great that Liv is now a badass assassin but that should be saved for a sequel. Make a part 2 that we can CHOOSE to read not be forced to read just to finish our original storyline... I have too much money invested I’m ready to end it. ...

yay.....! Finally, new chapters boo hoo only 2. I am so addicted to this book it's like watching an awesome movie with several sequels. I wish I had 100's of chapters a day instead of 1 or 2. I also don't know how to give this book gems or rate it. I will say it's great reading keeps me on edge. ...

Revenge with my Fiancé's Billionaire Brother

Revenge with my Fiancé's Billionaire Brother

Jasmine’s smile was still frozen on her face, but clearly her true desire was not to be that calm “You shouldn’t spread lies like this just because you’re angry.” “Well, if you're comfortable saying that you cheated on a friend just because you were in love, then I thought you'd be comfortable with the whole story being told. You know, maybe I'm ridiculous and pitiful, but I should also have the right to tell the facts according to my side of the story, don't you think?” Millicent asked and she didn't even need to look in the direction of the two old ladies to know they were swallowing hard.

Thank you very much, author. Is a worth waiting for story. I already love the story even it’s only 5 chapters plus the prologue. I really feel for Isaac. He has really suffered a lot because of Austin and his mother and Evan. I believe they killed Isaac’s mother and want to kill him as well.

I am absolutely loving this book!! Thank you, author, it was worth the wait. I really feel for Isaac, some people are just insanely awful. I hope he and Millie can bring the entire Carnby goddamn family down to dust, avenging the Bianchi's and Isaac's mother. Let the revenge begin!!!

Mr.Miller's Mistress

Mr.Miller's Mistress

It was like he had asked nothing out of the ordinary from her. “You have problems with your wife, and then you saw me and thought to want to fuck me as consolation?....” Ana inhaled trying not to cry. She really had expected a lot from him but no, he was no way her Adam, he was just his lookalike. Jack was still emotionless, composed and very well collected as he continued to stare at her. Ana, heaving with both annoyance and disappointment quickly told me. “My answer is no, Mr Miller. I will not become your side whore....”

Frequently Asked Questions

I got stuck on the Miller’s Tale for a while in my college lit class, to be honest. We kept arguing about whether it was just a dirty joke or if there was a point buried under all the farting and misplaced kisses. I think the clearest lesson is about the folly of pride and misplaced trust, but it's so messy. The carpenter, John, is so smug about his young wife and so easily tricked by the scholar Nicholas. His arrogance—thinking he's smarter than a ‘clerk’ and that he can lock up his wife—is exactly what gets him literally and figuratively broken.

Then you have Absalon, the vain parish clerk, getting his comeuppance for his affected manners when he goes in for a kiss and gets something else entirely. The tale seems to say that if you’re pompous, jealous, or pretentious, life will find a hilariously crude way to humble you. It’s not a noble, heroic moral; it's a rough, earthy one about the consequences of being a fool, delivered with a wink and a nudge. Chaucer lets the Miller tell this story right after the Knight’s noble romance, which really drives home that this is how regular people might see the world—not through chivalry, but through the lens of chaotic, bodily humor.

In the end, everyone is tricked, humiliated, or hurt, but nobody really dies or faces tragic punishment. The lesson feels more like a warning to not take yourself too seriously, because the universe might just pants you in public.
