An Unsuspecting Asassin

Two large men came and stood on both sides of Tempest. She did not know if she should attack them and run or go along with them. This felt like 10 years ago all over again. No choice but to move where she was placed. She walked along with her two escorts up to the castle. Along the way she could already see signs of the vampires settling in. Drinking from people's necks like they were on tap. The cries that came from the town was beyond depressing. People being pulled out of their homes and all the adults being accounted for. Women being checked for virginity. Virgins were always given to the Lord as their blood was considered the purest. People's inventory being checked and confiscated by soldiers. These things always happen when the army temporarily occupies an area for battle. Tempest sighed. She felt like the chaos all around her made everything that much more depressing. Tempest saw the blond vampire looking at her for a moment, while they walked to the castle. He turned and whispered something to Anton. Anton turned and addressed his generals. He said, " Hold off on collection activities! We will give further orders, while we conduct deal proceedings. Leave the women alone! I will kill anyone who commits any more transgressions." They had finally made it to the castle. There were already humans, probably familiars, setting up the castle for them to stay in. She even saw a television. She had never seen one in working order before. She was amazed. There was electricity in many areas. Just the ability to wire up your home costs a fortune. Even if you know how to do it. She then saw more humans coming with the wiring and 2 more TVs. Tempest could not believe they were living such extravagant lifestyles without spreading any of that wealth. She was taken to a large room. Humans came in and set up a large dining hall table, and then they came in with chairs. The coven's head mistress sat down. She looked over at Tempest while the rest of the coven stood in the corner. Anton and Alucard sat at the head of the table. Anton motioned to Tempest, "Stand up." He walked over to her and began patting down her body. Tempest felt like a piece of meat on sale at the market. Anton then stood in front and looked at her, " She has a curvy, very womanly shape and wide hips. That's great we heard that something about chaos makes witches able to bare our children. Having strong true blood children with the power of chaos will help tip the power scale for us. As you might have guessed. I am the sire, but I am not the old blood here. We will forgive your blunder, but this woman must be promised to Lord Alucard. Alucard, as you guessed, is an old blood. When he was turned we found him to be a descendant of the Tepes line. He has been given lifeblood from the original source himself. You must know how proud I am. The power this union can unlock and can bring great power to all of us. We will have the wedding here. After we leave, the coven can take over the land from this castle. You will still answer to us, of course." The headmistress Esther was confused, " we have plenty of stronger witches. Why do you want this one?" Alucard answered for the first time. His voice was cold. He said in a cold voice," You have someone stronger than a witch who can use the chaos of water? I would love to see that." Tempest's eyes opened wide as she looked at the blond man sitting in the chair. He had a soft face, his blond hair was almost white and was long down his back. The length brought out his feminine features, but there was an odd coldness to his gaze. He had feminine amber eyes, but the color was somewhat sinister in a way. Alucard brushed his hand over his lips and looked at Tempest. He continued, his voice still brash, " I saw her on the shoreline. Her magical control was nothing to scoff at. So please show me someone stronger." At the mentioning of the shoreline, Tempest immediately felt guilt. She was out there, because she chose to ignore Esther that day. Sister Esther quickly shot Tempest a glance before putting her head down. She knew there was not someone stronger. Alucard looked at Ester coldly. He said, " That is what I thought. Do not play with me."   Alucard stood up and looked at her. Anton moved out of his way. " What is your name and where are you from?" Tempest looked down. She couldn't make eye contact with Alucard's eyes. She said quietly," I am Tempest. My mother's ancestry travels back to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. My father was from Zimbabwe and part of the pack of wolves from there. I am a mercenary, sir " Alucard raised an eyebrow. He asked quietly, " Why would he leave you here, to do such grunt work?" Tempest gripped her hands. She felt he was getting quite personal. She replied, " I was not a daughter of the Luna, so when I did not wolf. I instead inherited powers. The only use I had to my father was as merchandise." Alucard's eyes narrowed, and he nodded, " Well, now you are my merchandise. So have comfort in knowing, I hoard everything. I get rid of nothing. So do as you are told and you will be treated well. If you vex me, you will have training and punishment like my other familiars. Do you understand? Nod your head if you understand." Tempest nodded her head. Alucard looked over her appearance with distaste. He said, " Good, I don't trust humans, but you will have to work for a bride. " Alucard clapped his hands and 4 ladies in waiting appeared behind him. He said coldly, "Ladies, come get her sized and set up with armor, fix this riot fighting gear she has on and get her 2 new sets of gear, and get 5 ball gowns done immediately made to start. She has an hourglass figure but a muscular build. It should not be too difficult to manage in a day. Get to work, she needs a dress by tomorrow!" Alucard leaned in to smell Tempest. He frowned and spoke in an authoritative voice, "She smells like outside. Please, put her in the bath immediately. She is not just a witch, she is a symbol with that rare genealogy and eyes. She needs to look the part, whether in battle, in my bed, or a ball. Am I clear, ladies?" The one who appeared to be in charge bowed her head in acknowledgment. Tempest was guided out of the room and she could not help but to look at Sister Esther, who she viewed as a mother. Wathc in silence as Anton handed her a pouch of money. A tear fell down Tempest's face. They took her upstairs. She was brought to a room. There was a four-poster bed and a TV in the room. She saw men's clothes on one side and an empty closet on the other. The floor was black marble. There were gaslight fixtures and a large royal green bed spread and what appeared to be a bear on the floor. The fireplace was lit, making the room warm. They put herbs and petals in her water. There was a low fire that stayed under the tub keeping the water warm. Tempest was in amazement. The luxury these vampires lived in was crazy. Werewolves were no better. Her father was just at a lower level, so even he did not have all of these luxuries. They removed her riot gear to be fixed. Her headlady smiled and said, " My name is Elena. I will try to make you as comfortable as possible. That being said, we will give you privacy. We just need you to promise us you will not try to escape." Tempest looked over at her. She nodded her head. She said," I do not want to cause any problems for you." They left her alone. Tempest breathed out as she looked around her dressing room. She sighed, "Well at least I cannot be passed around anymore." A tear fell down her face. She felt herself starting to drift off. She couldn't control the feeling. Her brain was alert that something was wrong, but she couldn't will her body to stop relaxing. She wanted to struggle to lift herself out of the water but couldn't. She calmed herself down. This is a bad situation. The water was not pure, so it would be hard to control. Was she poisoned?

Tempest focused like during her meditation time. Her eyes opened as she realized. Only one thing can cause paralysis like this. She looked closer at the petals in the water. The ammonium flower! Someone is trying to kill me. She felt her body sink into the water. She breathed and focused on the area around her nose. She strained against the impurity of the water. She was able to make a temporary water bubble around her nose. She closed her eyes, so she could stretch out the time she held the bubble. This is crazy, she thought. Just a moment ago, I was just your average mercenary. I was taken out targets not becoming one. She heard the door slam open and a pale set of hands came around her, pulling her out of the water. She opened her eyes and started gasping for breath. She clung to the chest of the man. Exposing his chest in the process. She looked up. She was looking directly into Alucard's eyes. His eyes were cold, and his lips looked tight. He picked her out of the bath, cradling her body. " I could not tell if you were practicing or drowning." Tempest could not speak to tell him what was wrong. The flowers effects had already ruined her ability to talk. Alucard looked annoyed. He said, " Well if you are not going to say anything. I will just put you down." Alucard set her down, but Tempest could still not move her body. She hit the floor hard, causing her to gasp in pain, but the flowers effects would not even slow her to scream. Alucard's eyes narrowed. He hissed, " Guards line those ladies in waiting up." He glanced at the tub and noticed the flowers. Tempest thought he looked scary before, but his eyes were so yellow they looked monstrous. His fangs were very pronounced. He said coldly, " I just paid for her and someone dare kill her?" He picked Tempest from the floor and draped a robe over her naked body and laid her on the bed sitting up with her body leaned against the headboard. He turned to look at them. Alucard's eyes looked cold as he stared down the maids. He asked coldly, " who made the bath water?" The ladies shook their head as if they did not know. Alucard became more direct, " unless you want, You and your families heads on pikes outside! You will tell me who put these in my betrothed's bath water!" Elena spoke up. She was stuttering," It was a new girl, sir. She is not standing among us." Alucard sent his guards to sweep the castle, " Find her but do not kill her! I will do it." Anton walked in the room walked in the room with a guard. He said, " My general came and got me. She is already a target? That is too quick, it has got to be resistance. I cannot believe they are present here too. We will have to snuff them out before we leave." Alucard went to his closet and changed and equipped a long sword and a gun. Tempest saw the gun. Guns were even rarer of a find especially one in good condition as his. Alucard turned to her Tempest for a moment. He said, " I will meet you outside. I need a moment alone with her." Alucard clearly commanded alot of authority because everyone quickly left the room. Alucard looked at her for a moment. He said, " I am going to go out and handle some errands. Try to rest and watch some TV. TV now is honestly just plays and stuff being played out of old Hollywood sets with surviving equipment, but it is entertaining. " Tempest looked at Alucard curiously. She said, " Resistance, why would they be after me for marrying you?" Alucard turned to her. He said dissmisevly, " Even if I try to explain it to you. You would not be able to grasp what it is I am telling you. Also, do mr a favor and just stay out of my vampiric duties. A human would not understand them." Tempest quickly felt herself feel embarrased. She thought, of course you re speaking too freely. It is not like he chose you because. He wanted to, your coven messed up and they want my powers. However, Tempest did not like his attitude. She countered, " I just wanted to know why. My bath water is poisoned or do you make a habit out of marrying women, to put them in existential danger?" Alucard raised an inquisitive eyebrow. He said, " All you need to worry about is being able to walk tomorrow. You will meet my generals and vassals. Now, rest. No one should do anything else tonight and if they do. Kill them, I cannot have a fucking weak wife." Alucard's blond eyebrows arched when he said that to her. He turned and headed out the door without another word. Tempest could hear him say outside, " if anything happens to her. You know what I do to my enemies. Do not make me slit your throats!" She then heard the boots walk away. There was nothing but silence around her. Tempest cried" How funny was fate, she thought. Tempest's body trembled. As she trembled, the surrounding seas shook, causing large waves. She could feel herself starting to lose control. She breathed out, and she started to feel her strength come back to her limbs. She felt emotionally exhausted. She watched the TV for a little while before falling asleep.
