Logan's POV

“What was that Brandon?” I almost shouted once we were far enough away from her office walking down the hall to mine.

Brandon acting like he didn't care brushed me off.

“What? I was just looking at the nice buildings. Your design company is really improving Logan. I can see why you're so happy.”

“Stop playing games with me.” I said sharply stopping in the hallway. A couple of my workers walked around us looking nervous. I spoke softer but still firmly. “You can't just walk into people's offices especially not here. And definitely not making them feel uneasy.”

“Uncomfortable?” Brandon raised an eyebrow a smirk on his lips. “Or is it something else Logan?”

What was he getting at? I could feel my face getting hot a clear sign I was getting angry.

“What's that supposed to mean?” I asked loudly moving closer to him getting in his face.”

He laughed and it annoyed me.

“Come on Logan. You had to notice how you looked at her. That little gleam of interest in your eyes.” He stopped

MARCUS' POV It's morning now. I've decided, finally after so long, to tell her the truth. What happened all those years ago, why I had to leave her. If I didn't, I knew he would do it first and I wouldn't be able to recover if she found out from someone else. She would never forgive me. I wasn't even sure if she would forgive me if I told her myself but I had better chances like this. More chances than if she found any other way. I decided I would go take her out to lunch today, talk to her. I wanted her to see that I had really changed. I loved her and I was ready to sacrifice all of it, if it meant I would have her by my side. This empire wasn't worth it without her by my side, it had taken me a long time to realize it, the truth of how I needed her but now, I just wanted, needed her. I prepared for the day. I had told Dax to set the meeting with Morticia for this morning. There was no time to delay anything. If I was going to get Naomi, make her be mine. I needed to get

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 115: THE MEETING

MYSTERY POVI sat down on my desk, my nose deep inside work. There was a lot I had to do, both the plans that involved my secession and the ones for the pack. A knock came on the door then. “Boss, you have a meeting in fifteen minutes" his voice calls out. I picked up the phone, wondering when I arranged for a meeting. “Remind me with who?" I asked. "He called boss, he said he made an arrangement with you” he answered. When had he? I decided to check my call logs and messages to see if I had missed it. I checked, there was a message. Call me, it said simply. “Alright, you can leave now" I told the man behind the door. I heard his footsteps recede and when I was sure I was alone, I decided to call him. He picked the call almost immediately. “Why didn't you call me? I just found out you set up a meeting?"He cleared his throat before he spoke, "I need to see you, we need to talk about everything” his voice had a tone to it, one I didn't like. "You can't back out now” I said.

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 114: THE MESSAGE

MARCUS' POV I could see how much happier this news had made Naomi, the brightness, though not all of it had come back to her face. It was lighter now. I was happy about the news as well, I could feel the attack with the venom coming and I wanted to be ready. My mind went to the fact about the ancestral magic that had been used. I wasn't a guru when it came to magic but everyone knew the amount of power needed to carry out anything like that. It was huge, the witch had to be ancient, powerful enough to siphon power from an ancient source. Which meant that this opponent of mine, the one we were facing was even more powerful than what I had initially thought. The room felt chilly suddenly and then the temperature rose back up to normal. It had been a weird sensation, one that I brushed off. I expected Dax soon. Just as I thought about him, a knock came on the door. “Come in" Naomi said. The door opened to reveal dax. He had a bottle in hand, small but portable. "Good afternoon

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 113: HEALING

NAOMI'S POV The car ride with Marcus and Logan was silent, though there was a tense sweetness in the air. It was as if we were at peace here but still in tension with each other. I turned to my phone to take my time with it. I didn't know but I couldn't bear the silence. I felt restless. The ride had been going on for a long time when I looked out. We were in a very secluded road. Only the woods on both sides of us. “Are we close?" I asked Marcus who was driving. He shook his head, “About ten minutes close" he answered. I was getting tired of sitting in one place, was this really how far Zara Hollow, the real one, had gone just to get to work. I turned back to my phone, switching my ear pod on. It would take my mind off everything. The drive went back to silence. I had been lost in my thoughts when the car suddenly stopped, my door opened. “We're here," Logan said. I came out of the car looking around. Her house seemed to be isolated, the only one for miles. Why did she ch

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 112: DOUBT

NAOMI'S POV My eyes flashed open, waking up to my mom's voice. “Darling, I didn't know when you got home from the hospital," she said. Even as I closed my eyes, I could sense her moving around to tidy up the mess I had made yesterday when taking my clothes off. If my eyes were open, I would have rolled them. Mom was always trying to get everything tidy and neat, polar opposite of Dad and I. “Mom" I groaned out loud. She didn't make any reply, continuing with her fussing around. Finally I opened my eyes. Mom had opened my curtains so the bright morning sun had flooded my room. I almost shut my eyes again but I didn't. I had to be awake. There was a day ahead. I sat up straight on my bed, my eyes darting to where mom had just finished cleaning up my table. She had picked the books up, the ones Marcus had given to me. That was why she had fallen silent, suddenly frozen when she read the titles. I stood up quickly, rushing to her and snatching the book away. This wasn't part

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 111: FOOTSTEPS

NAOMI'S POV He opened the door for me and we both slid out of the car. He led me to the door, taking a key out and opening it. The house was quiet, mom and dad were already sleeping it seemed so they didn't know everything that had happened today. We walked silently to my room and were soon inside. I felt my bones screaming for me to fall on the bed, my body feeling the temporary tiredness. I refused to do so, so I went to bathe instead. Taking a cool shower helped my headache drop, it was still there but not as bad. When I came out, Marcus sat on the couch in the room, he watched me as I went into my closet to change. By the time I came out I noticed the difference. “Where is Logan?" Marcus shrugged, he didn't know. We had been home for at least twenty minutes, he should have been right behind us, unless something happened. My heart began to race, I was only hoping it was nothing. With everything that had happened, I wasn't sure anymore what this person who was attacking
