LUCAS.
I slammed my fist on the table, anger bubbling up in my chest at what I had just read. So, Elias only married Sophia to use her, not because he loved her.
To think I sat through dinner with this type of person fills me with disgust.
I’ve never really been a fan of my brother or his son because they treated me like an enemy in the past but I didn’t think Elias’s character was this bad. At least I thought he really loved Sophia and made her happy. That's why...
“Is this all?” I asked Wilson while waving the file at him.
Something seemed to be missing but I couldn’t put my finger on it.
After having dinner, I got a call from Wilson and he told me he had found the information I needed.
This was why I liked Wilson. He was swift and reliable when it came to getting stuff done.
So, before I drove back to my villa, I quickly passed through the office to see Wilson and see what he found about Sophia.
My blood boiled when I realised what kind of dick Elias had been to Sophia.
Not only did he cheat on her with her best friend, but he also defrauded her of the inheritance from her father. To make matters worse, he had kept her locked up after she finally agreed to divorce him.
The fool couldn’t accept that she had decided to leave him. He knocked up her friend and yet, he still wanted to keep her as his lover.
He’s such a fucking coward.
“I think the Adams Group was the only reason Elias married Sophia, Sir,” Wilson pointed out.
“I know,” I practically growled. It angered me so much that Elias was using Sophia all this while and I thought he genuinely loved her. What a joke.
“Keep looking into Elias. I want every dirt on him that you can find. And soon.”
I quickly left the office and drove home, recalling how fragile Sophia looked when she fainted in front of my car. I couldn’t shake off that image from my mind.
To be honest, I couldn’t even enjoy dinner. My mind was back in my villa, worrying about Sophia.
Was she ok now? I had never seen her look so vulnerable before.
When I walked into the villa, I found Sophia in the living room. Earlier, I had left without telling her because she was sleeping, oh so peacefully.
I couldn’t bring myself to disturb her.
She looked at me the moment I stepped into the living room. I had left some new clothes for her to wear which she had changed into and her blonde hair was tied into a messy bun.
“How are you feeling?” I asked.
My mind drifted to the screams I heard earlier even though I had pretended like I didn’t hear anything. It seemed she was having a bad dream but I didn’t ask about it since she looked like she didn’t want to share.
“Thanks to you, I’m alright,” Sophia replied, forcing a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
Hatred for Elias surged within me. He did that. He snuffed the light out from Sophia's eyes and now, she can’t smile anymore.
And she has the most beautiful smile.
“Don’t mention it,” I said before taking a seat. I could tell she wanted to talk to me about something.
She looked at me, pausing as if to choose her words correctly.
“Thank you for helping me out today... but, I’ll be leaving tomorrow. I can’t stay here.”
Before I could respond, she added, “My ex-husband is your nephew. I don’t want to put you in trouble.”
Silence fell upon us. It was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop to the floor.
“I went home for dinner today,” I said after a little while. “I already know everything, Sophia... I know what Elias and Violet did to you.”
My eyes met her green ones and I asked, “Are you willing to lose it all to them? Don’t you want to make them pay? To destroy them? I know I would want to crush them if I were you... betrayers don’t deserve forgiveness.”
A spark of light flashed through Sophia’s gorgeous eyes. A look of determination crossed her features, her jaw clenching from anger.
“I want to make them pay for what they did! I want them to kneel and beg for forgiveness. I won’t rest until I take back everything they got from me! I want to destroy them!” Sophia hissed, her chest heaving.
I waited for her to calm down before I offered, “I have a way to help you achieve your goal.”
She looked at me, confused.
“How? What way?”
I took a deep breath, my eyes locking with hers.
“I can make Elias crawl to you and beg for forgiveness. But to do that, I need to become your family. Marry me, Sophia.”
CASPIAN. A murmur rippled through the crowd, and Carla glanced up at the VIP section, her glare making me gulp. She was pissed… but I wasn’t about to lose to my rival who was trying to impress my girl.“Wow, I never expected the auction to have such a great start. Five million dollars going once…”Silence fell over the place. Brian was simply quiet, not making any move. He turned his head, looked up and smirked like he had gotten what he wanted. Bastard… he had been provoking me all this while. I doubt he even wanted to buy that collection. But I didn’t mind spending five million if it meant I could soften Carla’s heart. “Going twice…” the host announced. “And sold! Our anonymous bidder in the VIP section is the new owner of Queen Layla’s jewelry set. Congratulations!" A round of applause echoed in the hall, but my eyes were fixed on the woman who stopped looking up. She got to her feet and walked out, her face unreadable. I got to my feet, wanting to follow her. This was my c
CASPIAN. “Mr Gray, the item you were looking for will be sold at today’s charity auction event,” my assistant, Mateo Williams, reported, stopping my chaotic train of thought. “I’ve confirmed with the organisers.” It had been a week since I’d heard from Carla. I went to her office, but I was told she had gone on a business trip. She still didn’t want to talk to me despite trying to get in touch with her using other means. I sent her emails, sent her texts on me-ssenger, called using strange numbers, but still, she ignored me. I had apologised to her via text for my mother’s behavior, but she still didn’t want to talk to me. I even sent an official apology letter to her email, but I got no response. For the first time in my life, I felt lost. My chest felt stuffy, my heart aching with the possibility of Carla not speaking to me forever. I understood why she was angry. I didn't clear up things with my parents before taking that step with her. And my mother had no right to treat he
CASPIAN. I glared at my mother. God, I loved her, but she could be annoying sometimes. Why would she bring this strange woman into my house?“My dear, Elena. Caspian would never be with another woman. He only cares about you–”“Whoa, Mom, chill. Who said I care about her?” I asked, cutting her off. Marrying someone I didn't love was one thing, but pretending to care about her? That was just cruel. If I had gone through with this marriage, I would have let her know that I felt nothing towards her. No care, no love, no nothing. Luckily, I had decided not to marry someone I hardly knew. What if she turned into an ogre at night?Or what if she was a psycho like that woman who was after Lucas? Wouldn't want to wake up with a knife in my belly. And her calling my mother and manipulating her to bring her here were signs of huge red flags. If only my parents could see beyond family status... Mom frowned at me. “Caspian, Elena is your fiancée. You have to look after her, but instead, you ma
CASPIAN.I didn’t want Carla to dance with that bastard, Leo Monterobio. He was part of the Mafia, working as Marco Rossi’s second in command. A known womaniser and a very dangerous fellow. I didn't want him even an inch close to Carla. Just seeing him sit close to her had my blood boiling. I wanted to gouge his eyes out for staring at her like she was a piece of meat. I wanted to knock his teeth out for smiling at her like he was in a toothpaste ad. When he noticed her, I instantly regretted bringing her to such a place. What the hell was I thinking? However, I didn’t have a reason to stop Carla from mingling. After all, I was the one who told her to have fun. So I decided to let her do what she wanted… but I didn’t even last a minute. I couldn't...The thought of that bastard being alone with her didn't sit well with me. I quickly followed after them, searching for them through the crowd of horny dancing couples and when I finally found them, I instantly saw red. That bastard h
CARLA. “What the fuck, Mom? Haven't you heard of knocking?” Caspian yelled, pulling the blanket over us. We were both naked. My heart raced, and my face burned. His mother just barged into the room, and it reeked of sex! Oh my god! I was so mortified. “You wanted me to knock so you could hide your mistress?” My embarrassment was cut short. A pang of pain shot through my heart at her words. Mistress? Caspian sat up, sighing heavily. “Will you give us some privacy, please? And Carla is not my mistress.” His mother scoffed. “What else is she if not a mistress? Doesn't she know you're about to get engaged?” My heart sank. And suddenly, I felt like the worst person in the world. I knew. I knew he was going to get engaged to someone with a similar background to his. I just wanted to live in the moment before he got committed to someone else. A part of me did hope he would choose me and forget about his arranged marriage… but he didn't seem to want to put a label on what happe
CARLA. His deep voice, the way he commanded me... every cell in my body tingled in bliss. This man made me experience pleasure like no other... I reached between my legs, my finger rubbing my clit harder, faster while Caspian fucked my mouth roughly. His movements were a bit jerky, signalling that he was close. I grabbed his butt, pulling him closer as I rubbed my clit faster, moaning against his lips. A guttural groan escaped his lips, and he pulled out before picking up his shirt and releasing on it. "Fuck, Carla... that was so damn good," he hissed. He approached me, and I fell back on my back as he hovered over me before kneeling between my legs. I couldn't help but admire his perfectly sculpted body. He was created remarkably. Leaning down, he grabbed my chin and connected his lips to mine, kissing me bruisingly hard. I could taste myself on his tongue, and it turned me on more. God, I wanted him inside me… right now. I wanted him to fuck me so hard, my core would ache th
