I was still thinking about what Yael told me earlier, even after I got home to the penthouse. When I found out about it, I didn’t ask him any more questions—I just nodded in response, even though the truth was, I didn’t really know what he was talking about. I want to hear the rest of the story from Zach because I have a feeling that issue is connected to what happened in the past.
“Mommy, what time is Daddy coming home?” Aaron asked from the living room, where he was doing his homework. I, on the other hand, was in the kitchen preparing our dinner.
“I don’t know, sweetheart, but I think he’s on his way home,” I replied.
Zach and I didn’t go home together earlier, and I also didn’t tell him that I was going ahead. I wanted to say goodbye, but he wasn’t in his office at the time. I don’t know his schedule, and the only one who does is his secretary. I want to call her and ask where Zach is, but she might find it suspicious.
