“Happy birthday, Serena”. I whispered to myself as the clock struck twelve. I smiled brightly, laying back on my bed. Today was a very special day for me. Aside from it being my 18th birthday, today is the day I will finally accept Logan, the soon to be alpha of our pack as my mate.

My joy knows no bounds, my life has been tough since my mother passed away and my father decided to remarry, it has been nothing but hell. I was never a part of my family, I became a slave in my own house. Only because my father thought I was a burden to him for being a female, an omega worse of all.

He has always wanted a son who will take over his position as the beta of our pack but since my mother had me before dying, he had hated my guts. And unfortunately for him, when he remarried, Victoria already has a daughter who he happens to love more than his own biological daughter.

Logan was the only good thing that has happened to me, he was the only one who treated me right and cared for me. He would often sneak in food for me and treats my wounds. All I wanted today was to officially become his mate and escape this place.

“Just a little longer, then I can finally be with him”. I smiled, placing my phone beside my pillow as I tucked myself to sleep, hoping and waiting on a call from Logan.

I stared at my phone, disappointed flowing through me as I checked the time again, 7:30pm. But yet, I haven’t received a single call nor message from Logan. Did he forget it was my birthday? No, that can’t be true.

I have waited all day for his call, doing all the chores, cooking and organizing the dinner party my father threw for his pregnant wife. It didn’t really bother me that none of them remembered my birthday, after all I was used to celebrating it alone.

But Logan… How can he forget? Or did something happen? I was starting to get worried, it was unlike of him not to text or call me for the whole day.

Putting on my cheap but expensive to me, flower gown, I headed downstairs, searching through the crowd. I’m sure my father must have invited the alpha, Logan must be here. He will give me an explanation.

Logan behind, upon reaching done, the dinner was already going on and there was Logan, sitting beside Mia as she fed him like she was his girlfriend. Anger and pain filled me, I had been waiting all day for him but yet… apparently, I had missed the whole party, waiting for Logan in my room. There were only a few friends of my stepmother present at the dining table.

I walked towards the table, taking a seat in front of them, expecting Logan to move away from her as soon as he saw me but he completely ignored me.

Mia was being her usual flirtatious self, batting her eyelashes and giggling at everything Logan said. It wasn't until Mia leaned over and whispered something in Logan's ear that my suspicions were aroused.

Logan's eyes flickered to mine, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flash of guilt. But then he smiled and turned back to Mia, his expression innocent.

Mia, on the other hand, was watching me with a sly smile on her face. She seemed to be enjoying my discomfort, she would Lean very close to him, her lips almost touching while staring at him.

I clenched my fist tight, not wanting to cause a scene. I was determined to keep my cool, no matter how much it hurt.

"Logan," I said, my voice calm. "Can I talk to you for a minute?".

Logan looked up at me, a hint of annoyance in his eyes. "What is it, Serena?" he asked, his voice dismissive.

I felt a sting from his words, but I tried to keep my cool. "I just wanted to talk…….”.

“Serena, get more drinks from the neighbors, we are out of them”. My stepmother cut me off, rolling her eyes at me. I stared at Logan for a few minutes before getting up

Instead, I pushed back my chair and stood up, my movements stiff with annoyance. "I'll go get the drinks," I said, my voice tight.

As I walked out of the house, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Logan had been acting strange all evening, and Mia seemed to be flirting with him shamelessly.

When I returned with the drinks, Logan and Mia were nowhere to be found. I felt a pang of worry, but I tried to brush it off.

"Mrs. Victoria, thank you so much for coming," Victoria said to one of the guests.

"Of course, say hi to your husband when he gets back," she replied, smiling sweetly.

I watched the exchange. Why would my stepmother ask me to get drinks when the dinner was almost over?

As the guests began to leave, my stepmother turned to me, her expression stern. "Make sure to clean all those tables, you're not allowed to sleep without cleaning everywhere."

I nodded. I let her leave first before slowly making my way upstairs. I was sure Logan hadn't left yet.

But as I reached the top of the stairs, I heard a moan. I stopped dead in my tracks, frowning. Trying to make out the voices, I realized they sounded familiar.

The voices were coming from my father's bedroom. I felt a wave of shock wash over me. What was going on? Moving closer, I brought out my phone and turned on the recording. I had to know what was happening.

As I listened to the voices, my heart sank. It was Logan and Mia. They were together, in my father's bedroom. All my life, I had been labeled a slut by my father. But now, I had proof that he was the one who was hypocritical.

"For once, I will show him how good his stepdaughter is," I muttered to myself. I moved closer to the door. Without hesitation, I slowly creaked open the door, tiptoeing so I won't alert them.

My eyes almost popped out of their sockets when I found them entangled in the bed.

Logan was laying on his back, deep groan especially his mouth, I frown, looking at the woman on top of him. I was expecting to see a dark brown curly hair to indicate it was Mia but instead it was a long, waist length very light brown hair, sitting on top of Logan.

My eyes widened in shock at the realization.

My step mother!

Victoria was on too Logan, grinding her hips against him while moaning into his mouth, his fingers wrapped around her neck, pulling her closer.
