THE PERFECT LIE
When the darkness was thick enough to cover her identity, Raven Star—werewolf in human province prepared for her presentation that night.
Of course as usual, she was the star of the night, the flickering colored lights match her every rhythm, illuminating her soft features as she performs.
When she finished her first performance for the night, she was a bit disappointed, she had hoped the Alpha boy was going to show up again that night but he hadn’t.
"You did great tonight my little bird," her manager tucked a lose strand of hair behind her ear as he bent to her height where she sat before her vanity.
"Tonight?" She asked as her cheeks flushed, he was the only one that knew her identity and true nature yet he never condemned her, rather he made her "THE RAVEN STAR"
He sighed.
"As always," he corrected himself as he placed a small jar on the table before her. "We've got a deal." He whispered in her ears, his breath hot on the nape of her neck.
She breathed slowly to calm her pulsating nerves, then she bent slightly to take off her shoes—she needed a little distraction from the tension.
"A few thousand dollars for a private performance by my little bird."
Raven paused her actions and straightened in her chair, she searched his face for sarcasm.
"A very rich man has offered a hundred thousand dollars to hire you for a private performance." He dropped the bombshell.
Her hand flew to her mouth as she gasped, goose pimples breaking out everywhere on her skin.
It was too good to be true but the serious expression and excited glint in her manager's eyes told her he was dead serious.
"Do you agree?" He asked, the corner of his full lip curled in a teasing smile and Raven jumped.
"Yes, thank you so much." She hugged me, he was stiff till she released him when she realized she had acted out of excitement.
"Who is he?" She asked, returning to her position, barely curtailing her excitement.
"Anonymous and for this reason I got you these." Too systematic, meticulously too, her manager reached for the jar he had dropped on her table earlier and dropped a few pills in her palm.
She knew what to do with them.
Then he stared at her through her image in the glass.
"You have to take more of these suppressants when you go to him, his identity is unknown so we have to be extra careful, he must not find out your true nature."
She nodded, she understood the danger if anyone else discovered she wasn't human.
"Look at you my little bird, you are a star." he steadied her chin with two fingers so she stared directly at her image.
"My star..." he whispered.
"The best." He was the only one that ever really saw her.
"I'd let you have some privacy now," he winked at her, stood to his full height and excused himself.
Raven was left with her image staring back at her, the pictures his words painted in her head of the star she was came flooding her mind as she took off her mask.
Then she saw her.
"It's all an illusion isn't it?"
The helpless girl in the mirror questioned her reality and just like that the pictures in her head were replaced.
No colorful lights and applauds just pain, everyone despising her for her omega status in her pack.
She had been raised—more like reared in an abusive home with no love, no respect from pack members and a lonely life.
"Not Tonight." She caught a stray tear and wiped it off before it could fall.
Gently she rubbed her Golden mask, grateful for the anonymity that let her escape the pack hierarchy for a few hours because in there she was Raven Star, someone everyone adored and she was going to live in every moment of it.
Gently she slipped it back on after changing her shoes and stared at her reflection.
The perfect lie.
"Raven you're up in two..." someone came to inform her.
"I'm ready." That sentence held more emotions than she had expected it to, it was a response to a lot of uncertainty that clogged her mind.
She was ready to face them head on.

The sun was up early and the hallways in Moon Crescent academy were emptied as students sat in the classrooms instead of loitering during periods.
The school was strict with such things.
At the far end of the hall, Kai sat bored in traditional history class.
Though the day had only begun, he was barely interested in whatever Mr Blackwood had to say.
"Settle down everyone," Mr Blackwood cautioned the students.
"Do you mind if I sit next to you?" A small voice came up beside him and asked. He simply shook his head when he turned to see it was Cassie—a beta female.
"Thank you," she turned crimson as she fit her tiny self in the seat next to him.
"You do look hot today Kai...I mean you always do but today it's..." she bit her lower lip and trailed off, eyeing him seductively.
Uninterested in both her flirting and whatever Mr Blackwood was scribbling on the board, Kai focused on his device instead.
"Common Kai, don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about," she placed her left hand on her thigh and gently raised her already short skirt revealing more skin.
Kai looked.
"Do you mind if I..." without permission, she moved her hand to his thigh masked by the desk since she had got his attention and groped him.
He inhaled sharply.
"What are you doing?" His voice was a low and husky whisper, she pressed her thighs together to stop herself from dripping.
She ignored his question and began to tease him, rubbing his member through his jeans and relinquishing in the excitement as he grew hard under her touch.
"Stop." He had just grabbed her hand to stop her when he heard Mr Blackwood call his name.
"Kai, why don't you attempt to answer the question."
Mr Blackwood didn't bother to repeat the question since he wanted to pin Kai on it.
'Damn it' he cursed underneath his breath, he had no idea what question he was supposed to answer since he wasn't paying attention.
The class went pin drop silent. No one dared to give him a hint.
It could get him into deep trouble and both Kai and Mr Blackwood were aware of that.
The moon shone brightly over the huge, castle-like pack house of the Moonshard pack. It only appeared like a castle on the outside, but the inside was designed with modern luxurious items. In one of its many rooms, Ryan leaned against the wall with his hands folded on his chest, staring at his dad with furrowed brows, eyes blazing with mixed emotions of anger and hatred.“You still look at me with that damned look in your eyes, huh?” Ragnar, the Alpha of the Moonshard pack, questioned, picking up a glass of whiskey. He leaned on the edge of the table in his study room.“I can't help it, and I am not going to apologize for it,” Ryan said through clenched teeth. He didn't fail to show how much he hated his father to his face.Ragnar let out a scoff and took a sip from the glass of whiskey before replying to his son.“I don't need your apology, son,” he replied. “One day, you will understand the reason why I did what I did.”He pushed off the wall and closed the gap between both of them.
BROKEN GLASS~The night before the party~"I'll meet you there after I figure out what I'm going to wear." Jaxon laughed at Kai from the other end of the call and Kai ended it.Tossing the phone on the bed all the way in his room, Kai stood in front of his closet, staring at the numerous clothes on different hangers, ranging from casual to official. He had never thought so hard of what to wear like this before. There was a first time for everything, and all because of what—rather, who?‘You just have to admit that she's more than that stupid bet.’ Ros said. Kai didn't say anything; instead, he moved closer to his closet. Starting from the first clothes, he moved his fingers, heading to the last one, but finally stopping at a matching combo. He pulled out a black shirt, black leather jacket and a pair of blue jeans and put them on.‘You're running because you don't want to admit it,’ Ros said again, trying to get Kai's attention for a bit, and he successfully did. ‘There’s nothing
YOU DON'T OWE ME When Kai returned, he handed her a shirt, took off his jacket and without thinking twice, draped it over Aria's trembling shoulders."Change out so you don't catch a cold. I'll wait here for you and drop you home," the music had long died down, the Alpha's aura suffocating everyone in the room—he was angry. Ryan was worse—Aria reminded him of his mother too much, moreso, she was being maltreated like his mother had been for a crime they never committed. "Where are you going young lady?" Kai caught Cassie by the wrist before she completely walked past him. They had turned the music back on and a lot of people had started playing games and dancing but Aria was yet to return with Karen."It's my house and—""My territory." He completed her statement in a low whisper.Cassie felt her wolf shrink, she couldn't challenge the Alpha, even if she could, not in front of all the people present. Also, he had been acting strange the whole night, she couldn't predict his next l
One of the Beta girls stepped forward near the edge of the crowd, her lip curled just enough to call it confidence, voice loud enough to be heard but not enough to draw real attention, not yet.“Seducing an Alpha and lacing his drink is disgusting,” she said, head tilted like she wanted Aria to break under it, “bold move though.”Aria stopped. So did Karen. The room didn’t fall silent but it shifted, heads turning in that ripple way, half of them pretending not to listen while standing completely still.Aria’s brows pulled in.Her mouth parted but nothing came out.Her hand moved a little, just enough to reach for something that wasn’t there.Karen stepped forward fast, “What did you say?”The girl laughed, short and sharp, then turned to her friend with a smirk, like she’d already won.Aria didn’t move. She didn’t understand. She scanned the faces closest to her, the smirks, the tilted heads, the way none of them looked confused. They already knew. They’d heard it.She looked toward
