CHAPTER THREE
Estelle's POV.
I woke up, my head was throbbing painfully, I opened my eyes, but everything looked blurry and out of focus. I was lying in a large bed, and the pillow beneath my head was soft and plush. I blinked my eyes a few times, trying to clear my vision. The room was bright and airy, with sunlight streaming through the windows. It smelled of flowers and fresh linen. Slowly, the environment came into focus, and I realised where I was, in a strange bedroom, not in a dirty abandoned hut, not by the Riverside, not beside tree roots, but I was on a comfortable bed in a nice room.
I tried to sit but the pain in my head shot through sharply and I winced. I adjusted myself against the headboard and tried to remember how I got here.
'mate' Mira said softly in my head, and then I remembered everything that happened. Oh my Goodness! I'm not supposed to be here, and I just found my mate! And he is a pack member of the Nightfall pack. It has always been known that Nightfall pack is among the most powerful packs across the continent, they were also well known for being the pack that hates rogues the most and they've always been feared by we rogues.
I knew I shouldn't stay here any longer, so I looked around the room and found my backpack. I found a pill on the little table by the bed and a glass of water.
"We have to leave Mira, we're not Wanted here" I told my wolf and she whined sadly.
"But mate is here," Mira said.
"Yes but this Nightfall Mira, we can never be accepted here. We have to leave immediately, " I told her.
I used the pill I found despite not knowing what it was for, but I was hoping it was a pain relief pill. I looked outside the window and realised I was upstairs but it seems like it's the second floor.
"Ok Mira, we have to escape no matter what " I said to Mira who was still whining in my head. I shifted letting her take control and leapt out of the window. I landed on my paws softly on the ground, my nose picked up the scent of many wolves, all of them almost similar.
I started running in the direction I sniffed there were less wolves there. Mira was reluctant as I kept urging her to run faster, I was still feeling pain in my head and now a new one in my chest. The more we ran farther from the house we left, the more the pain in my chest increased.
Mira winced more as the pain increased but we didn't stop, then we finally came into town.
"That must have been the pack house" I said as we approached the residential area of the Pack land. All the houses were similar, all numbered. Everyone was moving about in their human form so I decided to shift back to my Human form too.
Back in my human form, I went into the town. Of course it was risky because people would recognize my scent but I hoped they wouldn't. If they don't come across rogue's mostly, they shouldn't be able to recognize our scent.
I couldn't find my shoes in my bag but I continued further into the town. My stomach growled loudly and I found a grocery store. I went in and I was getting a few stares from people around but I sensed it was because of me being barefoot.
I found the shelf that contained water and I picked up a bottle and threw it in my bag. I took a loaf of bread and a bag of chips too and kept them in my bag.
I walked out of the store and no one saw me, I quickly ran to the back of a house that looked abandoned and started eating. I was eating ravingly and u was so focused I didn't notice I had company, I felt a hand on my shoulder and I froze. I turned around and faced a Lady, she had green hair matching her forest green eyes too.
"A rogue and a Thief!" she said as she gripped both of my arms. I tried to wiggle Free but she was strong. I knew I was a little bit weak because of what happened to me because I was pretty sure I had a chance against this lady.
She glared at me with obvious venom in her eye, I kept on munching on the bread in my mouth. Unexpectedly, she flung me and I crashed into a tree. Mira already took over my form before we crashed into the tree. I shook my body and stood back on my paws, the pain in my head didn't stop but my chest seemed to relieve me bit by bit.
I growled at the green lady as she was surely surprised by my size but she shifted too and growled. A few people were standing behind her and they all glared at me but none of them neared me.
The lady's wolf was white with a lot of scattered brown colour, obviously the hair on her head was white but it has been dyed to green. I was prepared for whatever she wanted to do as we just kept circling each other and snapping our jaws.
She lunged forward at me and I darted nimbly avoiding the attack. She leapt forward again this time connecting with my shoulder but I shook her off and bit my teeth down on her hind leg. She howled in pain and locked into me as we both rolled on the floor, she managed to tear my shoulder with her nails, I winced and viciously threw her off me.
"Stop!" I heard someone yell and the Green haired wolf went low in a submissive way and other werewolves present did the same.
"Their Alpha is here" I told my mate as I turned to the direction of the voice.
"It's our Mate," Mira said, wagging her tail happily. I shifted to my Human form because I knew I wouldn't be able to manage Mira's emotions.
My human form was smaller than the guy that yelled. He stood tall with a broad chest and his face was shaped into a frown as he looked down at me, he had deep green eyes too, nothing close to the red eyes of his wolf.
"Go down!" He said in a command voice and I just stared at him confused, "I'm not your subject" I said to him and he growled in response.
"Take her!" He yelled and my hand was immediately held from behind by strong arms.
