He moved swiftly through the corridors, his steps precise as he led the guards away. He could hear the clanking of armour behind him, their pace quickening as they followed the sound of his retreat.
“Good. Keep following me” He thought to himself with a victory smile on his face.
As he turned another sharp corner he came face to face with another pair of Gantric Knights. The two guards barely had time to react before Daniel struck.
His sword slashed through the air, knocking the weapon from the first guard’s hand before driving the hilt into the man’s stomach. The soldier gasped, doubling over.
The second guard lunged with a spear.
Daniel twisted out of the way, his footwork smooth as he sidestepped the attack. In one swift motion, he caught the shaft of the spear, yanked the guard forward, and elbowed him in the face. The man stumbled, blood dripping from his nose.
