"The case has been adjourned."
That was the first thing I said to Rylee immediately after I got into her house. I didn't know if to be relieved that it was paused momentarily or not. This was the first sitting and I was already feeling succumbed. It was overwhelming.
"Come here, babies," Rylee took their hands, "Please, make yourself comfy, girl," She said to me before she led the kids upstairs, leaving me by myself.
Rylee wasn't present in court today because she had an emergency, but Liam had to suspend work to be with us and render his support in every way possible.
When the judge paused for the day with so many deliberations to make, Liam had driven us to his house instead, as Asher and himself would be meeting the lawyer in charge and a few other people necessary for the case. To them, winning was the only choice, and I hoped it turned out fine... Sincerely.
