What if he's just gonna bring me to his territory as food? What if he and his family are gonna eat me alive? What if that's the real plan. He has a hidden agenda! Oh no, please.
"If I'm planning to eat you alive, I already put you in the cage with my sister. Calm your heartbeat. I'll take care of you."
My lips parted. So confirmed? He could read my mind or maybe he could hear my heartbeat. I massaged my chest. It was such a shame since yesterday my heart was thumping loud.
"But what about my family here? My friends? I mean I still need to attend school. I couldn't just leave like that."
"As I said, you don't have to worry about anything. I'll handle it." He licked his lower lip after sipping on his wine. I gulped, it looked lusciously red. "And we're gonna talk to your parents about us living together somewhere out of the country, so they're not gonna worry that much."
"But they don't know you. Do you think they'll trust you?"
"Come on!" He scoffed as he rolled his eyes. "How many times will I say, I'm gonna handle everything. Just trust me, okay? It's not only your life that is at stake here. You think I want this? I'm going to lose the chance of marrying the woman I love for this. If it's not only for my family and my pack, I will not marry you."
I was taken aback. I swallowed deeply, moistening the bitterness that crawled in my throat.
I am clearly aware that he hates me but I didn't know it will hurt more to hear that there's a woman he loves somewhere else. I bet she's prettier, maybe more intelligent. I don't care though. Why would I care?
I sipped on my water, cleansing the stones on my chest. I couldn't understand why his words affected me that much. It wasn't a big deal. It shouldn't be a big deal cause we really were nothing in the first place.
"If you're worried about your parents, you don't have to. I already talked to some of my connections. They will watch out for your family and if they need something, I'll provide it for them. Vilka mentioned that your family often have money problems. I can solve that for you as well. I have everything planned. Just relax and always." He pointed his ear. "Always listen to me and my commands."
"You don't have to give my parents money. It's like you're buying me from them."
"Yeah, let's assume that's the case." He rolled his eyes before sipping on his wine.
I rolled my eyes as well. He wasn't the only one who could get easily irritated. "By the way, you said my transformation will be during Red Moon, right? When will that happen?"
He answered more of my questions, giving me slight clarifications about what was going on. He then advised me that as a werewolf, I should always expect the unexpected.
I excused myself from the conversation when I saw the time on my wrists watch. I almost forgot I still have a class to attend. I took a shower and fixed myself. It was just unfortunate to be a werewolf in my fourth year of college. I was about to graduate. My real journey as a human was just about to begin but then on, it turned out I was gonna be a werewolf.
When I was about to get out of the house, Fenris stopped me and told me not to attend school as it wouldn't make sense anymore since we were gonna fly to Norway soon.
"What's wrong with me attending my class?" My brows crossed. "My transformation is not scheduled yet today, right? So why stop me from doing my usual routines?" I crossed my arms.
"I'm just being careful, Kira." He gritted his teeth like an annoyed king. "I told you, no one should know that werewolves exist. I don't wanna risk losing Moonlight Claws' dignity for one accident. If someone discovers about us, about you, believe me, it will going to be a total disaster for both of our sides."
"Why would anyone discover? I'm just gonna attend class. That doesn't mean I will expose myself. You're a paranoid werewolf." I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not paranoid. I just know how talkative you can be, based on Vilka's story about you. I want to be careful. I am just careful." His stares went deeper, it could melt me. "You have no idea what will happen if the human and werewolf world meets. It's not gonna be a good thing, Kira; that's why we keep our existence hidden for centuries. You don't wanna create war because of your carelessness."
"Or maybe I want to." I raised my right brow. He was so judgemental! I have been offended by him since the day we met. It was not a good feeling, for real. It was stabbing my chest with thin little blades.
"Yeah." He scoffed. "I dare you." His brown eyes glowed into blue. I stepped back a little as my body hair froze. Horses stepped and ran on my chest so fast.
I burst an awkward laugh. "I'm just joking." I swayed my hand. "Of course, I don't wanna create war. Obviously wolves are stronger than humans." I puffed a breath. "I don't wanna make war against you, master." The word 'master' sounded sarcastic.
He rolled his eyes. "It's good you know where to stand." He brushed his messy hair with his fingers.
We had a long debate before he finally allowed me to attend my class but with condition that he was gonna drive me there and fetch me at the end of the day.
"It's not me acting possessive or bossy, it's just my human instincts being concerned." His adam's apple moved as he gulped. "Yes, it is not yet your transformation day but you must be aware there will be tons of changes that will happen to you. I wanna be by your side if anything occurs to your senses, to guide you, basically."
Why does he acting like a concerned citizen?
My heart wanted to assume but my mind reminded me of his line 'this is just for convenience'. My lips thinned. Only for convenience.
We went out of their mansion and there I saw guards everywhere. He mentioned hiring guards for Vilka but I didn't know he would find guards that fast. I wondered if they were also werewolves.
He talked to his driver while I just stood in front of his car, and then his driver nodded, handing him the car key before walking away from us.
Fenris looked at me and gestured me to hop in. I pouted before opening the door on the shotgun seat. He then hopped in on the driver's seat.
That has been our routine for the past few days. We would have breakfast together then he would drive me to school and fetch me after class. It was fun actually. I didn't feel like I was being forced to follow him. Our bond was so natural yet sometimes he would still offend me with his foul words that would remind me how he would just make me his mate for convenience.
At least I was feeling like he was really concern except that he may just be good at pretending that we were really lovers. He would always ask about where would I go and he would always make sure to drive me whenever. He would also text me from time to time for updates.
"How are you?" He asked when we reached their living room. We just arrived at his mansion from my university.
I dropped my tote bag on the floor. "Fine." I shrugged.
"I mean do you feel anything weird or unfamiliar this past few days?"
"I'm feeling okay this past few days, nothing really weird." I shook my head.
He nodded as he started unbuttoning his black polo shirt. My brows crossed while his firm chest was slowly revealing itself.
I blinked multiple times when I met his eyes, realizing that he was staring at me deeply as he removed his polo and threw it on the floor.
My lips parted at his eight-pack abs to his broad shoulders and well-built chest. I swallowed deeply before licking my lower lip, feeling the sweat on my forehead despite the cold breeze hanging around us.
"What are you doing?" I gulped. "We're still in the living room. Why are you making yourself naked?"
The side of his lips rose, smirking playfully.
What the fuck is he thinking? I can't read his mind and his playful, magnetising eyes.
"You're right. What we're about to do is inappropriate to conduct in the living room." His gaze was so deep with smirking lips. "Come on, follow me."
He walked towards the backyard and I was like a dog that followed him quickly.
"Seriously, what are you up to mister Fenris?" I asked after we stopped at the garden area.
His topless presence was a distraction that I couldn't even focus my mind on being serious. My eyes would often look down at his chest to his abs then back to his tantalizing eyes.
"You need to learn the basics."
"B-basic what?" I glanced at his v-line, it was oh-so good-looking. I looked away, pinching my waist, trying to regain myself back to its decent mind.
Come on, Kira, don't be seduced by his existence. It might just be his trick or whatsoever.
"The basics of becoming a werewolf, Kira." The side of his lips rose. "Have you forgotten about that already?"
I blinked multiple times as I just noticed the fine-sexy hair on his chest, also near to his v-line. I swallowed deeply, while something inside me was desiring to caress him.
What am I even thinking? I hate him so I shouldn't be having that thought. But his perfectly built body looked so strong that I could be protected anytime when I stick with him.
"Kira, calm your thoughts." He sighed, shaking his head. "Don't tell me I'm the first man you ever saw topless."
I zipped my lips as I gulped to contain the saliva that almost fell on my mouth. I looked away, feeling the warmness of my cheeks.
"Why do you have to take your shirt off in front of me though?" I rolled my eyes, acting simply annoyed.
"And?" He raised his right brow. "What's the problem with that?" He unbuttoned his pants.
My eyes widened. "What the---"
"Chill, Kira. Remember, you're gonna be a werewolf. So seeing a naked body should be normal to you and not a big deal anymore."
My jaw dropped, seeing his lower part with only his black brief. I almost cough as I captured his longness poking on his underwear; it was huge, damn huge that it looked like it wanted to get out from his tight brief.
His brows crossed but his lips switched into playfully smirking as he looked down on his v-line.
He shook his head when our eyes met again. "Sorry, Kira but that's not our focus for today's session."
"What session?!" I furrowed, getting more sweaty.
"The basics of becoming a werewolf. How many times should I repeat myself?" He shook his head as he held his brief.
I looked away and covered my eyes with my palms before I could even see him fully naked. I might totally lose my mind if I saw everything.
"Transforming into a werewolf is easy but can be hard for newbies," he said while my eyes were still covered. "First of all, you need to relax, clear your mind like you're meditating until you feel the hotness; a burning sensation on your nerves. But don't worry, that sensation will feel just right; a comforting heat that feeds your savagery."
I flinched when his warm hands touched my face, removing my palms from my eyes. "You have to see me transform, Kira, so you can have a vision of the idea."
I met his eyes, and I froze, doing my best not to look down on his sensitive part. He stepped back while his eyes were deeply staring at me until they glowed into blue. His fingers revealed its claws until his hands became paws.
My eyes widened a his greyish-white fur was slowly covering his body. I stepped back while he was slowly forming into a feature of a dog, and in a blink, I was already standing in front of a wolf, a bigger wolf than usual. Oh my God, a freaking giant, greyish-white dog.
"What the fuck?" My heart thundered.
I swallowed deeply after seeing some backpacks and winter clothes that they had prepared for us. My mind was roaring everywhere, and I couldn't even sink in the information Guardian Leo was saying to me.My chest was thudding so loud, and all I could think of was I wasn't ready. I didn't expect everything to happen this quick. We rode horses to travel the cold land, and I couldn't stop glancing at Fenris every time I would think of backing up. I sighed deeply and tried gathering courage from I didn't even know where I could actually get one. Perhaps, the look of Fenris reassuring me was enough. We arrived at the strange mountain ranges, and from there, we teleported to the icy plateau on top of the hill. My hands were trembling under my gloves. Fenris held me while we were looking around the place, examining the surroundings."I don't understand," I muttered. "I can't see anything but icy mountains. Where could be the location of Darkesta's territory?"I hugged myself when the strong
What happened that night was still hunting me to this day — it had been two weeks and up until now, we were still thinking of the purpose of why Darkesta's little dogs suddenly attacked us."Claude is dead."When Fenris brought me that news, I was stunned. I thought I would be happy to hear those words but then again, I remembered he was once my friend. Even though it wasn't really for him, it was real for me and Lilien."They decided to kill him after he almost successfully transformed himself into his wolf form," he added.I sipped on my cup of coffee while my heart was still feeling unsafe. Darkesta was not only the devil, he was intelligent and whatever he was plotting against us could be the real end of our kind. I was just so frightened by that thought."What about Vilka? Do you believe her?" I asked before sipping on my coffee again.Vilka explained to us why she suddenly disappeared from the mansion a minute after our soldiers had traced foot tracks of Dark Summoners. She said
My jaw tightened as my claws gripped tighter on the ground. I stepped back, lowering my body while gazing at the three creepy humanoid wolves. They were standing on their two legs, and it made them look more monstrous. I prepared myself for a possible attack."Calm down!" The humanoid wolves were almost laughing in my ears. I didn't know they could talk to us through the mind link. "You seem to be too threatened to us. Don't make it so obvious, I suggest." The humanoid wolf in the middle kept blubbering, sounding so boastful.I glared at them deeper as I hissed. Fenris was looking much more eager. I could even hear his blood boiling so hard.Fenris howled. "What do you want from us?!" He also spoke through mind-link. The humanoid wolf on the left side chuckled like a playful yet annoying child. "You know what we want. "We will never surrender to your greedy master, you asshole!" Fenris fired back while he was scratching his pointed claws on the ground with his sharp teeth showing.
My heart thundered as Fenris' eyes and mine met. "Stay here," he commanded."What? No—" He got out of the room without letting me finish my words. I gulped before I rushed to follow him downstairs. Noises were coming from outside the mansion and when we finally exited the house, I saw some soldiers talking and discussing some things. In contrast, others were spread around the huge house, they were anticipating something, and my heart was thudding continuously for what could be it."What the hell is going on?!" Fenris exclaimed, and finally, he caught the soldiers' attention."We saw tracks of Dark Summoners leading to this place—""I know, but did you see them? How the hell did they get here without anyone sensing them?"Strange. Even I didn't sense the unwelcomed scent of humanoid wolves. "Alpha Fenris, I checked Vilka in her room, but she isn't there." A maid approached him."What?! What does she have to do with any of this? Are you sure she didn't sleep in her own house?"The mai
I swallowed deeply, convincing myself they were nothing but friends just like me and Nazarus — come on!"Yes, my cousins are regaining their strengths, thankfully."I cleared my throat before I stood properly and composed myself. My elbows hit some leaves, and I immediately noticed how quickly their eyes turned into me. "Oh, Kira!" Atasha chuckled awkwardly. "My cousins would want to give you and your mother this." She handed me two necklaces with a fang pendant."Really?" I still couldn't figure out how to interact with her. I never wanted to be fake or plastic or whatever they call it. "Yes, they've been planning to come here, but they are still regenerating their strengths — maybe next week they could thank you personally.""Oh, that's nice." I grabbed the necklaces from her soft hand. "Tell your cousins not to worry, and we appreciate their gifts and their gratitude." I glanced at Fenris, and he slightly smiled at me. My lips just thinned.I wanted to ask what they were talking
We arrived in the woods right on time while the Sun was about to rise. Good thing, the soldiers arrived earlier than us. They seemed responsible and dedicated to their tasks. We stayed near the river for a couple of hours. Fenris had been discussing something with the soldiers. They were plotting a plan while I was on the lookout for the busy group. Surprisingly, no Dark Summoners attempted to attack us. I was quite anticipating the action now, but perhaps it really was better for them not to attack or anything. The damage they could cause was too much, for sure.Since we saw no sign of attack, Fenris and I decided to go back to the mansion. He instructed the leader to inform us once anything unfortunate occurred. While we walked our way back to our house, the soldiers stayed in the woods as it was one of their duty — to guard and observe the forest. The next day was a really bad day for me. I work up without Fenris on my side. Since my body was so heavy and even my eyes, I didn't no
