Sheryl’s P.O.V. (Continued)
“What?” he asked, making my anger rise more.
“I said get off, you… you pervert. How dare you pinch me?” I yelled at him while craning my neck towards him, looking at him over my shoulder.
My gaze met with a pair of electric green cold eyes, but I was so angry that I couldn’t register the coldness.
“You haven’t changed at all,” he remarked aloud, rolling his eyes at me, and I growled aloud this time.
I may be low by rank, but it doesn’t mean that outsiders also bully me.
"I should have left you there. I am a big fool to put my life in danger for you... you.. you b*stard. Now get off my bike and get lost," I continued yelling at him, jerking my head here and there from time to time.
He chuckled, making me widen my eyes in disbelief.
He was still holding me by my waist, and now it was getting on my nerves.
He slowly got off the bike and released my waist.
"Scoundrel," I cursed him again, giving him a threatening look, and drove away.
People these days don't praise goodness.
I frowned in pain, feeling tears in my eyes again.
For saving him, I put my life in danger, and what did I get in return?
I was harassed by him.
I felt sorry for his mate. Poor girl...
Although he had masked his scent, I could say that he wasn't mated yet.
Yes, my earlier assumption about him being a minor was wrong. His wolf was strong, I could feel, and he was definitely of age.
I wish that the moon goddess would keep him unmated to save an innocent life.
I flinched harder when I heard the ringing of my phone. I was now relaxed, and both anger and fear had vanished from my heart.
I stopped the bike at the side of the road, two blocks away from where I left that boy.
"Sheryl, where are you?" the person on the other side asked me as soon as I picked up the call.
"Uncle Sam, where are you calling me?" I asked him in a confused tone.
"Are you okay? Did you leave that alley?" He asked further, and it was when I realized that he is the person with whom I talked earlier.
Sam was my neighbor and also one of those families who took care of me with my grandfather.
I was so scared earlier that I couldn't recognize his voice at that time.
"Yes, Uncle Sam, and I left that boy near Wendy's. He is still injured. He got a brutal hit at the back of his head." I informed him calmly and took a deep breath in the end.
"You did a good job, girl. But you should head to the hospital. Amelia took your grandpa to the hospital," he told me further, and I trembled hard in fear.
The next second, I hopped on the bike again and started pedaling while pressing the phone between my shoulder and my ear; holding the handlebars tightly in fear.
“What happened? He… he was okay in the morning? Why didn’t he call me when he felt unwell?” I barraged the question in fear, my voice shaking in fear.
“Calm down, Sheryl. He was okay an hour ago but suddenly fainted in the supermarket while shopping for the groceries.” Uncle Sam answered me in a serious voice.
I was now both angry and scared.
My grandpa was a good warrior, but he was severely injured while fighting with rogues in the same rogue attack in which my mother died.
That day, we lost so many lives and casualties were also too many for the pack hospital, resulting in a delay in the treatment of so many injured people, including my grandfather.
So, he couldn’t recover completely from his injuries and my mother’s death also took a toll on his recovery.
“He will be okay, Sheryl. Don’t panic. You know your grandfather. He is a strong man. Ju… just stay strong and everything will be okay. Call Amelia as soon as you reach the hospital, okay? I need to finish this report first.” He instructed me hurriedly but tried to comfort me before that.
“Okay.” I mustered to say in a choked voice and he hung up. I put my phone back in my jacket pocket while pedaling the bike.
“Please, Grandpa. Be safe.” I murmured in my heart while trying not to cry.
He was my only family and my only pillar.
After my father abandoned me, my grandpa took me in and tried his best to give me the comfort of family so that I wouldn’t feel abandoned.
He made me feel wanted and loved.
“Please don’t leave me.” I murmured once again in my heart.
With a furiously beating heart against my ribcage, I continued driving towards the hospital and reached there as soon as possible.
“Relax, Sheryl. He is okay.” The guard stationed at the main entrance of the hospital stopped my bike and asked me to calm down.
I stopped the bike immediately and looked at him with tearful eyes.
“How is he, Max? Where is he?” I asked him in a choked voice, trembling a little because of fear.
He smiled faintly while the second guard dealt with others.
“He is still in ER, and he has woken up now. I am sure that the doctor will release him in an hour.” He replied to me with that very faint smile.
“O Goddess!” I exclaimed aloud in relief and almost fell to the ground as my knees went jelly immediately.
Max held my arm tightly, keeping me on my feet.
Thank goddess, my grandpa was better now.
I couldn't tell how relieved I was now.
“Why are you smelling like the other wolf, Sheryl?” Max suddenly asked me and sniffed me immediately.
His eyes suddenly went wide before I could answer him.
“You…. You were with… with an alpha?” He asked in shock, and I frowned in confusion.
I was about to answer him when those cold electric green eyes suddenly popped out at the back of my mind.
“Alpha?” I mumbled in shock while blinking hard.
I could recognize both Alpha Adrian and Sylvester.
The only alpha who remains here is Gabriel.
“O Goddess!” I exclaimed in shock this time when I realized whom I saved earlier.
I am doomed.
I went pale when I realized that how I berated him, called him ungrateful an....and...
Oh my goddess! What had I done?
I called him a pervert.
I face-palmed myself while looking at Max fearfully.
He immediately became worried while holding both my arms.
"Wh... what happened, Sheryl?" he asked me worriedly.
How could I tell him that I just signed my warrant of death by myself and handed it to the executioner by myself?
"I am doomed, Max. I... I guess... I offended Alpha Gabriel b... before coming here." I replied to him in a choked voice, still looking at him fearfully.
"You did what?" Both Max and the other guard yelled at me in shock and I felt like crying.
"
