Chapter 47

Clara's POV

I opened my eyes slowly, feeling a sharp pain in my lower abdomen and between my legs. I looked around and realized I was in a hospital bed, hooked to various machines and tubes. I tried to remember what had happened, but my mind was foggy and confused.

“Hey, you’re awake!” A familiar voice said from beside me. I turned my head and saw Seline, Alastair's sister, and packmate, sitting on a chair next to me. She looked worried and tired but smiled when she saw me.

“Seline…what happened?” I croaked, feeling thirsty and weak.

She reached for a glass of water on the nightstand and helped me drink some. “You had a scare last night. You started bleeding and cramping, and we rushed you to the hospital. The doctor said you had a threatened miscarriage due to stress. But don’t worry, your baby is fine. They did an ultrasound and everything looks normal.”
