Charlotte was under the same roof as me, and that caused a myriad of sensations in me, none of which I understood to be something positive for me. I should have been thinking about business or about the son who would be with me in a few months, but the truth is that ever since we arrived in New York, something inside my chest began to stir, as if the trip from the Hamptons wasn't enough, and I could only think about a girl who was completely forbidden to me, in every sense.

Luckily, my aunt noticed that talking to Charlotte was distracting me from the road, and they both remained in a comfortable silence for the rest of the way, which I internally thanked.
