Chapter Twenty Six

"What is wrong?." Mr Jackson asked looking from me to Chris. "Did I say something wrong? Did I get the name wrong?." He had this nervous look on his face.

I was expecting Chris to say something, anything to tell him who I really am. But he didn't, he just stood there rigid and tense.

"I'm Lesley," I spoke up. Chris might want to make people think I'm Chloe but I wasn't going to let that happen. I mean I can't leave my parent's house, my freedom, and be living with him only for him to want me to pretend to be my sister in front of other people.

"Oh, my bad. I must have gotten the wrong name then. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Lesley." He stretched his hand out again and I took it.

"The pleasure is all mine, Mr Jackson." I gave a polite smile.

"If you would excuse me, Mr. Storms." He gave a curt nod before walking away.
