View MoreI don't think I've ever been more scared in my life than I was at that moment.
I was still standing, locked in the four walls of the bathroom. My hands shook and avoided the door knob like a plague. Knowing he was standing just outside the door, waiting for me wasn't comforting. I stared at the two faint black strips. According to the pack, two lines means positive. For the third time, it was positive again. I felt hot all over, my feet was rooted to the ground. How?. How did this happen?. I didn't understand. I was confused. I jumped at the sudden bang of the door. "Why is this taking so long." He said irritatingly from the other side of the door. I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. "If you don't come out here in five seconds, I'm gonna be coming in there." I panicked at his words. I immediately rushed to the sink and picked up the other two digital pregnancy tests. I looked around the bathroom for where I can hide it, but my eyes couldn't seem to focus on a place. The trash can. I hurried over to the other side of the bathroom, to the trash can but before I could get there, Chris barged in. Out of shock, all three tests fell out of my hand, landing on the heated floor. My eyes went wide as they locked with his. He held eye contact for a moment before his eyes trailed down to the floor. Slowly he started approaching. "No." I said and immediately bent down to gather all three tests. But before I could reach the third one, he stepped on it. I struggled to pull it out from under his foot but I couldn't. I looked up at him and his expression was unreadable, it was blank like it had always been whenever he looked at me. "Please." I whimpered. "I paid for those tests. I should know the results." "No no I can I can just tell you." I was nervous and a stuttering mess. "It's negative I promise. I'm not pregnant." "Then you should have no problem with me wanting to have a look." In a flash he pulled the test towards him with his right foot. Before I could crawled over to him to grab it, he bent down and picked it up. No. I didn't even know I was crying. I watched the expression on his face go from being blank to stony. Since we got married, I had never seen him display that much expression on his face. I had never seen him this angry. My heart pounded hard in my chest. "Please I a—." I started but he cut me off with just a raise of his hand. I was already a sobbing mess. "I have just one question. I'm not the father am I?." His cold eyes pierced into me, it felt like he was seeking out my soul and out of fear, I didn't bother to think twice about my reply to him. I said the first thing on my mind. "No." "Good." MONTHS EARLIER........ I was happy. I lived my life like any other teenager in senior year. I didn't have perfect grades but they were close. I was dating the hottest and most popular jock in school. I was the school's it girl dating the school's it guy. That made a lot of people jealous of me. Girls wanted what I had and the guys wanted me. And even though I know I wasn't very much loved, almost every student at St west high says a 'hi' to me with a fake ass smile whenever they pass by. I didn't have many friend, just two both of whom are my best friend. Adriana and Cole who by the way couldn't go five minutes without arguing. I used to be the one who stopped any conflict from arising between them. My life was far from perfect but I loved it because I was happy. But all that changed the day I received that text from my dad. This message is to inform you that there would be a family meeting at the McArthur's household by 9pm prompt. Note that it is mandatory for every member of the family to attend. Be punctual so as to avoid delaying the other members. Thank you. ~ Caleb McArthur "Why is your dad being too formal with you." Adriana said from behind me and I almost dropped my phone. "Anna!." I exclaimed. She chuckled a bit. "I'm sorry. I promise I wasn't trying to sneak up on you. I know how much you hate that." "But you still did." I frowned and picked the book from my locker before shutting it close. I turned around to her leaning against the lockers with my hand crossed on my chest. "I'm sorry. I promise I won't do that again." I looked at her for a while before nodding my head. "You finished with you Ap english assignment." I asked and she shook her head. "I tried to do it but I keep getting stuck." She frowned. "It's due tomorrow morning." She groaned. "I know. If I still can't get a hang of it tonight I'm gonna have no choice but to copy yours." "What makes you think I'm done with mine?." I asked. "You're Lesley McArthur. You never wait until the last minute to do an assignment so I know you're done with yours hey look it's your man coming. I better make myself scarce before you two remind me of how single I am, a life in which I'm loving by the way. Don't worry, I'll save you a seat." I smiled at her. "Meet you soon." She said before leaving. "Hey babe." Zach greeted as soon as he got close enough. His lips found mine and gave me this short sweet wet kiss. "Hey." I said with a bright smile on my face after we pulled away. I couldn't stop smiling, Zach had that effect on me. I wanted to pull him into another kiss, a long one this time but I didn't because I know in a few minute, the tardy bell would ring besides any of the teachers could pass by and remind us of how PDA was prohibited in the school premises. "You have physics yeah?." I nodded. "I'll walk you." He said before intertwining our fingers together which were a perfect fit by the way. We walked down the hallway which as usual got us stares from many people. "Ignore them." Zach said to me. He knew how uncomfortable I got whenever I was stared at. "They're just mesmerized by your beauty." "It's not the first time they've seen me." "It's not the first time I've seen you either and I still get mesmerized by your vivaciousness whenever I see you." He said before turning his head to me to flash that charming smile of his that I love so much. "Oh stop it. Flattery won't get you anywhere with me." Feigned irritation and he chuckled. We got to the front of my physics class and I didn't want him to go again. It made me sad a bit that he wasn't going to be in the same class as me. He gave me a chaste kiss on my lips and told me to go in. Normally I would have argued with him and ask him to walk back to his class first but I knew Zach. He was stubborn and he wouldn't go unless I went in first. "Okay see you later." I stood on the tip of my toes and gave him one last kiss before going in."Lesley!." Anna shrieked as I walked over to my locker. She wrapped her arms around me hugging me tightly to her body. Her hug was so tight I feared she would cut off my oxygen circle. "Oww Anna you are going to suffocate me." I managed to say. "Oh shit sorry." She said as she pulled away. She grinned at me and I frowned at her. "I could have died!." "But anyways that isn't important. What is important is that, have you heard the news?." She asked with large blue eyes. Adriana had always loved to gist, and gossip about everything. Her eyes usually spike up at conversations like that and her eyes are usually as wide as they are now. "What news?." I asked with a small frown. She face palmed herself. "Lesley! Do you even attend this school? You never know about the hottest gossip in school.""And that is why I have you, to tell me about it."She nodded. "That's true. Anyways..." she looked left and right before ushering me to come closer. I took a step closer and she lowered her v
There was a knock on my door. All part of me had been expecting it to be Andreas seeing as I left the house all evening with Chris and didn't get back until late at night. My body shook from excitement as I walked towards the door. He came just at the perfect time, just when I needed him. I wasn't as drunk as I was before, but still, I was just as horny as a rabbit. I was already anticipating all we would do. His warm hands were all over my body and his soft lips molded mine. I could only hope he wouldn't reject me like he did that night. I pulled the door open and my face fell. My heart dropped in my rib cage, I was extremely disappointed. Standing at my doorway was the last person I expected to see. "Chris," I called. "What are you doing here?." I asked. He had gone to his room the minute we arrived so why was he here now? I found myself asking. His eyes were fixated on mine, staring intensely into them. "Can I come in?." He asked and I nodded."Um yeah, of course." I opened t
"What is wrong?." Mr Jackson asked looking from me to Chris. "Did I say something wrong? Did I get the name wrong?." He had this nervous look on his face. I was expecting Chris to say something, anything to tell him who I really am. But he didn't, he just stood there rigid and tense. "I'm Lesley," I spoke up. Chris might want to make people think I'm Chloe but I wasn't going to let that happen. I mean I can't leave my parent's house, my freedom, and be living with him only for him to want me to pretend to be my sister in front of other people. "Oh, my bad. I must have gotten the wrong name then. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Lesley." He stretched his hand out again and I took it."The pleasure is all mine, Mr Jackson." I gave a polite smile."If you would excuse me, Mr. Storms." He gave a curt nod before walking away. The air between Chris and I was stiff after. Chloe has always been a tough topic for him to discuss. He usually becomes all quiet and tense whenever her name is m
We pulled up outside the gate of a large building. A vast compound lay before the building. "Why aren't we going in?." I asked Chris. Wondering why he didn't want to park his car inside the vast compound like the others had done. "It's gonna take longer to drive out if I park my car inside." He got out of the car and I did the same. Carefully arranging my dress so that the high slit wouldn't show more than I intended to do. We started walking towards the gate and I could see the long pathway that stretched to the front door of the building. "What is this place?." I asked mesmerized by the luxury before me. I couldn't help but notice the cars parked in the compound as we walked down the pathway. Most of the cars were luxurious cars that cost a fortune. It was safe to say that everyone inside the building is freaking wealthy. "This is Mr. Smith's house." He said, cooly. What in the world...The building was so high you would have to crane your head far backward to see its full he
The rest of our ride home was awfully quiet. I couldn't help but notice it. It was almost like Andreas had little to nothing to say to me. After leaving the pharmacy, we stopped at McDonald's to get some burgers and fries. I had asked him for what he would like to other and he replied with just "anything." I was left with no other chance but to buy him the same thing as I had. Each time I asked him a question he replied with either a yes or a no and if he didn't have an answer to my question he would shrug. I end up deciding to not say anything anymore or ask him any questions. He was mad at me, I know it but what I didn't know was why he was mad I mean I had my guesses but I wasn't exactly sure if that was the reason, if I was right or not. I mean why does he care so much about me getting pregnant? He was acting awfully lot like my parents or worse a brother I never had. But, I don't want him to be my brother or act like it. I wouldn't kiss my brother if I had one. "Why?." I sud
School was stressful like always. I was relieved when the last bell for the day rang. Without wasting much time I walked out of the class, Andreas standing just in the hallway."Hey, handsome." I greeted with a grin. He smirked at me and my eyes lingered on his bee-stung lips. I wanted nothing but to pull him close to me and kiss him hard. But I couldn't do that, not with everyone here. Aside from the fact that I'm not really into PDA, high school students are the worst when it comes to spreading rumors. The rumors about me dumping Noah for an old rich man had just died down, I didn't want another rumor about me kissing my bodyguard to brim up. They wouldn't understand that my marriage isn't even real, it's all a sham. Not even Adriana knows that though Chris and I live in the same house, we seldom see ourselves."Hey, ready to go home?." He asked and I nodded. He cleared a path for me through the busy hallway till we found ourselves at the garage. "I almost forgot how busy high schoo
