Maverick's POV My right foot touches the ground as I take my first step toward home. The gate groans and grinds louder, the iron shrieking as the gate rejoices, slowly swinging open further to welcome me home. The houndmaster smirks, a deep, satisfied rumble vibrating within his chest. He watches my compliance with pleasure, pleased by my obedience, knowing he won. My left foot lifts off the ground and sinks into the ash as I take another step. My conscious body is on autopilot; my mind is becoming foggy, the gate is already rewiring it. The memories from Earth are slipping through my fingers like sand.An itch flares in the back of my head. Like something forgotten is clawing at my brain, trying to force me to remember. My brow twitches. What am I supposed to remember? Why do I feel like whatever it is, it's very important to me?My right foot leaves the ground again. The gate nearly purrs in delight when that foot steps forward, making contact with the burnt, cracked ground.Shad
Maverick's POV “What… What… What the fuck was that?”“Oh…” The angel says with an expression that concerns me.“Oh? What the hell does “oh” mean?”Lucian clears his throat as he smooths his hands down his shirt. “I… I don't think I was supposed to see that.” “What the hell is that supposed to mean?!”“I… I am not exactly sure what this means. I…” Lucian looks sideways at his son, staring at him almost nervously. This shit is beginning to creep me out. What the hell did he just do? And his son doesn't seem the least bit fazed. He turned and walked away as if he was bored by what just happened.“If you don't start talking, I'm backing out. I don't know what the hell is going on, and I don't know what the hell you just did, so you better start talking, now!” I demand.Lucian sighs as he brushes his chin-length dark, strawberry-blonde hair back out of his face. “I don't know if I was supposed to see what I just saw, and I'm not even sure what it means, let alone if I'm able to talk abo
Maverick's POV I stroll beside Lucian as he takes me on a tour outside around his packhouse. There wasn't much to the inside; it's a small packhouse, especially if you compare it to Grayson's. It is bright, colorful, and lively, but a bit small to me. The outside is just as colorful as the inside, which is nice, and matches the colorful angel. Flowers are planted everywhere, in big ceramic pots and in beautifully designed flower beds. Lucian smiles softly as his fingers pluck a pink petal from a passing bush, bringing it to his nose. He takes a deep breath in. “It's time for us to go,” Lucian begins, drawing my attention to him quickly. I look down at the angel, noticing how he places a hand on his lower abdomen. "My baby has become aware and is already reaching out for what it can't have yet.” He lifts his head and looks at me. “We're making Abraham the pack Alpha tonight. We're holding a quick private ceremony. We're keeping it small and private within our pack because we don'
Maverick's POV I am one step away from the back door, which means I am one step closer to my salvation. But unfortunately, the universe loves to mock me. An Alpha and a Beta rudely step into my path, a massive, shit-eating grin plastered right across the stupid Alpha's face. “You are not dipping out on us that quickly. Nice try, though," EJ says, his fingers clamping around my forearm as he smoothly guides me away from the exit. "Come entertain us while our mates are held captive by their family.” I look over my shoulder, staring longingly at the back door. Damn it. I was so close to freedom. I knew I should have just drifted into the patio shadows the second nobody was looking. Brandon lets out a low chuckle when he catches me fiercely frowning at my ruined escape route. My eyes instantly snap to his, delivering a deadly glare that only succeeds in making him laugh harder. Thankfully, the two of them lead me past the section where the past and present Anderson Kings are currentl
Maverick's POV My jaw ticks as the asshole smirks, taking his sweet time to make his move. His smirk deepens as he folds his arms over his chest. I fight the urge to reach across the table and knock the smirk off his face. “Check.” I growl, my eyes snapping down to the board. My fingers squeeze the edge of the table so hard the wood groans under my grip. “What's wrong, Mav?” Coal asks, his voice dripping with amusement. “If you don't shut up, I am going to throw you through a wall.” “Didn't you say you were going to whoop my ass this time? What happened?” “It's kind of hard to fucking focus when the backyard is overrun by Andersons!” I snap, gesturing wildly toward the yard. “Your family is loud! They're like a bunch of wild animals. Seriously, it's like a zoo out here.” Coal lets out a loud snort. I glare at the board one last time and angrily slam my piece down into a new square. The sharp sound of Omega's screeching has our heads snapping up. Joey walks out the b
EJ’s POV It's been months since Ollie's nightmare ended, and he finally smiles the way he used to. Almost the way my bubbly Omega used to smile every time I saw his beautiful face. It's been months since he finally let go of the nightmare he had to endure. I know I’m still only touching the tip of the iceberg for how deep his mental wounds run, but they are healing. He is healing. And I am helping in every way I can. I am at his beck and call, and every moment he has needed me, I am there as quickly as I can be.I see it every day. My beautiful little prince is healing a little each day. And each day, I get a little more of that happy Omega back who couldn't wait to climb his mountain of a man… Their growls are supposed to sound fierce, I'm sure, but they are anything but that. They are… oh, hell! Who am I kidding? They are beyond adorable. Two Omegas and the Delta are currently tumbling in a wild pile of fierce adorableness. I couldn't possibly be more entertained, waiting to see w
Brandon's POV I don't know which was louder, the sound of the chains as I pull on them, or the sound of my growl as I tense every muscle while this bastard drags his claws across my stomach. My jaws snap as I lunge forward, aiming to take a chunk out of the side of his face when he gets a little t
Third Person's POV It was one thing when he was alone and sucked back into memories with Anton. But it was a whole other thing when asked about it, and forced back into those memories. The memories came quickly, images of Anton's angry face were suddenly right in front of him, making the Omega fli
Third person's POV The soft rumble of a delicate Omega's purr was the most beautiful sound the Beta had ever heard. His warm body lies pressed against his. A permanent smile is etched on Brandon's face as his fingers trail lazy patterns on Leo's back. It takes the Beta back 2 weeks: The Omega's be
Kyle's POV All morning, I couldn't stop thinking of the hug he gave me when he walked me to my door. It was so warm, and it seemed as though he didn't want to let go. I couldn't change out of my shirt last night because it smelled just like him. Unfortunately, when I woke up, his scent was long gon
