Chapter 2:

The sound reverberated around the whole room, and all the elites couldn’t help but gaze back, their eyes glimmering for fresh gossip, instant murmuring were heard next.

"Who is she?"

"Don’t you know, she’s the CEO of the restaurant? She’s the owner as of now."

Emma inhaled, then exhaled, grasping her hand bag firmly, she casted one last look at her mother. "Mother, I will call you."

She turned around and left, numerous gazes following her every movement.

Jeremy laughed, before clinking with the hemline of his suit, a figure appeared immediately, and he bowed slightly.

"Young Master, shall I go after her?" His voice was unfathomable, he was huge, his jaw line too hard.

Jeremy waved his hands indifferently, "I don’t think so."

Sadie glanced at Jeremy with a bitter smile. "Please pardon my daughter; she’s a little childish these days." She smiled nervously.

He nodded his head. "Yes Mother, certainly, I find your daughter really amusing." His eyes glimmered with desire. "I want her already."

He laughed hardly.

__

It has been three days since the whole ‘incident’, everything went out normally, and surprisingly it was quiet, except the gossip of Jeremy and Emma being together that flooded the internet.

Presently, Emma and her friends were in an espresso bar, catching some bit of gossip drinking coffee and eating some scones.

Those were the only times that made her feel safe, secure, get away from the phase of life. She knew she could count on them,

Emma dropped the cup of coffee on the table and stared at her friends, "Arya, I hope Devon is treating you well. You seem really happy these days,"

Arya flushed, and stared elsewhere, "We are in love, don’t you understand? The feeling of love, it takes you to a whole new level.” Her eyes glimmered gracefully. Arya Morris Brookes. The same woman who succeeded in getting married to Devon Brookes.

Nicole who was quiet, all of a sudden voiced out." I hardly believe that."

They both busted out into laughter, well except Nicole. The trio had been friends for as much as they were little, "I hope the news about Jeremy and you aren’t true?" Nicole suddenly asked, her voice quivering, she took the cup of coffee and took a little sip.

Emma paused, but only for a fraction of second, she lifted the cup of coffee. "I just put him in his place." She shrugged indifferently.

"You literally slapped him," Nicole said, waving her hands ironically.

"You would have done worse." Emma smiled, with danger lurking in her voice.

And that was of course no doubt, Nicole was the dangerous fang tiger, her personality differ in a lot of ways, she was quiet, yet dangerous.

Nicole was silent; she gazed down at her coffee, and twitched up her lips a little bit, though no emotions flashing between her eye lobes.

Arya stood up, and reached for her channel bag, "I have to go now; turns out I have a date with Devon." She casted an apologetic look at her friends.

Nicole squeezed her face softly. "Sure." She also stood up. "I have a business meeting too," She stood up and the duo walked away.

Emma sighed, drumming her fingers against the table, she grabbed the cup of coffee.

"I hadn’t expect the CEO of GameInc seated in a local coffee shop, while she owns the world best imperial restaurant," A thick masculine voice called out, hints of mockery laced in his voice.

Emma turned to look at him, her blood burning, why was he here? This man only made her heart explode with anger.

Jeremy walked towards her and took his seat, he wasn’t dressed in any suit, he was dressed in a baggy T-shirt and sweat pants, his whole face was covered with sweat, and it was evident that he just finished working out.

"What do you need?" She breathed in and out, trying to calm herself down.

"Ah, nothing," He taunted her, signaling to the nearest waitress. "Can I have a cup of Joe and maybe some scones?" He flashed a smile at her, and Emma could swore he was flirting. The audacity!

The waitress giggled, before she hopped away with her notebook etched gracefully in her arms.

"I have to go now," Emma reached for her bag, and stand up, but he pulled her back, causing her to slump back in the chair.

Her eyes held series of anger, "What’s your problem?" Her yell was thundered in his ears. Cold, hard, and terrifying.

Jeremy smiled, somewhat hard, he grinned a lot, his jaw clenched.

"Miss. Emma, I have been thinking of something." He leaned on the table, his hands supporting his jaw on the table.

"What?" She was trying her possible best not to lose her sanity, but it was damn hard, this man. He annoyed the hell out of her.

Her brain rumbled and she managed to breath.

The waitress walked in, dropping the tray on the table, and after flashing a seductive smile at him, she walked away.

Jeremy chuckled, he could never get old with the compliments he always received, he was the god of the Hart family, the face, even his mother loved him dearly, out of his two elder brothers, being the last out of his family, he received all the attention.

He picked up the scone and soon began chewing gently, his eyes gazing at Emma with delight.

Emma felt her veins almost pop up, it was hard to keep up with this man, she already certainly did not like him.

"What were you thinking?" she asked, gnashing her teeth.

He stared at her.

Chewing his scones.

Emma picked up the cup of coffee, and took a sip, feeling nourished.

"Where was I?" Jeremy dropped the scone back to the plate, before leaning in, his eyes twinkling, what was it… desire to own something?

"I have a proposal to make."

She almost spit out her scones.

"Which is?" She managed to ask, in nearly a whisper.

"Let’s play a game, Miss. Emma."
