His eyes went dangerously dark and for a second Cathy wished she hadn’t asked that question.

Then he dropped the knife and slowly washed his hands under the running water, wiping his hands clean before coming round the counter. Cathy spun on her heels as she watched him stroll over to where she stood. She pressed her back into the edge of the marble counter when he came to stand in front of her.

Green eyes bore into hers as he leaned close. “Eager are you?”

She swallowed. His voice was deep and it rumbled through every fiber of her body. She was nervous and began to ramble. “Look I understand that you want to take things slow but…”

He placed a hand on her lips to stop the flow of words. “But you couldn’t resist begging.”

“I am not begging,” she said defiantly.

He dropped one hand down to touch her through the flimsy material of her skirt and smirked when she drew in a breath. “Are you sure?”
