EMPTY WITHOUT

There was a peculiar silence in the Andrew household. Javyn was adjusting his tie, clad in a perfectly tailored tuxedo. He was going to be in the same room with the father of the woman he loved.

The man who had taken away his happiness and lost it. It had been a week already, and there were no leads as to where Savannah was. She had vanished that night.

No one knew what to believe anymore; it was hard to tell if Mr. Grant was telling the truth or simply concealing where his daughter was. But his story never changed; it was the same no matter how many times they interrogated him.

The involvement of the Angel of Death was what worried him even more. Was it a scheme meant to hurt him? He disappeared just as Savannah did, with no trace that he had even returned.

CLOSE CALL Savannah woke up with no recollection of how she’d fallen asleep. What on earth had happened? Where was she? A sharp sensation travelled through her body as she tried to sit up on the unfamiliar bed. Her surroundings were unfamiliar. Then the thought struck her: her father. Had he captured her and brought her there? There was no telling. She simply had to wait. Every movement made her sore body ache even more. Her head was pounding, and not even her attempts at holding it in her hands helped. She was trying to get her thoughts together, trying to piece together every detail of that night. She remembered the chase through the woods, how she was able to outsmart the two men. Then it came to her in a flash. The moment she stood before the truck, as it got closer, its lights illuminated her. Savannah weakly held out her hands before her eyes. Maybe it would be less painful if she did not see it happen. She was going to get run over. She heard the men’s feet shuffle as

LOST CONTROLMr. Grant was stuck in the same car with an aggravated man he barely knew. He snuck a glance at his bloody arms, and the sight sent caution signals to his mind. His mind kept replaying the moment he threw a blow at the first man unexpectedly. He was out of breath as he explained how they had been unable to catch her. That was not what infuriated the man beside him; it was their confession to having left her on the road, presumably for death.Mr. Grant was certain he heard bones crack as blood oozed from whatever part of the man’s face that suffered most. It was hard to tell as he was completely covered in blood. He ground his teeth as he remembered how both men became weak on their feet. Their pleas fell on deaf ears as multiple blows muffled their cries. They must have known there was no help coming. That was their fate, the path they had chosen as soon as they started working with the Angel of Death. They drove in silence, apart from the occasional swearing from Abel a

NEAR DEATHJavyn Andrew got the information that Zayn recovered with a pinch of salt. It was the fact that he had let his guard down that tortured him. He had failed his love, and he knew it.Everyone around him knew that he was growing increasingly drained; his eyes were dull once more. The spark in his eyes that she had retrieved from the years of working to build an empire was gone again. He was the only one who did not recognize the change that was in his demeanor. He, however, knew he was feelings were shortchanged. The fear that clouded his mind when he thought of losing Savannah was unbearable.Javyn ordered the driver to stop immediately, and what he felt was all too familiar. He could barely breathe and could do very little to conceal it.His companion watched in horror as he practically dropped out of the car on his knees. He was gasping for air and struggling to loosen his buttons, despite knowing that was a useless attempt.A simple glance at the billionaire in that state

WAY WORSEZayn walked into the Sheriff’s office with an air of importance. He was there to represent Billionaire Javyn Andrew and to gather more information about the supposed witness.Seated at the other end of the desk in the rather crammed room was a disheveled man who seemed drained of life. The specks of dirt on his clothes hinted at a lack of proper grooming, or rather the lack of means for proper grooming. Having Zayn sit opposite him showed the stark difference between the men.“I believe you, sir, are here to represent Mr. Andrew.” He was looking at Zayn, who nodded in agreement. He scanned the room, moving uncomfortably, feeling out of place in the cluttered office.“This young man here is Scott and claims to have some information on where Miss Grant is.”For the first time since he arrived, he looked the man in the eye. Scott had felt invisible to him up until that moment.“A man claiming to be a prominent politician from Kenya found me and asked me to carry out a job for

AFTER HER Javyn got to the university faster than anyone could fathom. The police at the scene where Savannah’s kidnapping had occurred were already interrogating people and searching the scene for clues.Javyn could not help but feel disgusted watching them act as though they were doing something. He was certain his men would find her before they did.“Which direction did the car go?!” He was demanding an answer. No one dared disappoint the enraged billionaire.“That way, Mr. Andrew,” One of the officers pointed at the far-stretched road. The road led up to multiple more paths. How would he find her in this way?He made another quick phone call telling his men the new route they should all follow. He was joining in the search.Javyn had just gotten back inside his car when she tapped on his window. It was Celia frantically trying to talk to him. He rolled down his window.“Go back home, Ma, I got this.” He was driving off before she even uttered another word. The thought of Mr. Gran
