"Please Dad, I will really do anything." I cried.

My Dad stared down at me, his expression unreadable.

He was about to say something when Aldan walked in.

“Will you get up, and stop acting weak.” Aldan finally said. "You don't go on your knees on every little thing."

I froze.

That wasn’t the reaction I had expected. Slowly, I rose to my feet, my heart pounding so hard I could feel it about to rip out.
