After Alpha Damien’s departure, I was filled with relief. I left the room and headed downstairs to have an evening meal. It was almost night.

The maids were staring at me with horror, who wouldn’t? After all, I had slapped the Alpha and I was still alive.

Now that my head had stopped pounding, all I could think about was what I had done… My only saving grace now was the baby… Goddess knew the beta could’ve stayed me if I didn’t have any baby.

“She dared slap the Alpha…”

“She’s so brazen… I still don’t know why the goddess made her the Alpha’s mate!”

“She’s lucky the Alpha saved her, her blood would have made a small puddle outside by now.”

The maids whispered amongst themselves as they watched me dish out my meal.

They watched me like hawks, eyes filled with so much hatred that I could literally taste it in my tongue.

I didn’t care. They were determined to hate me and there was no way I’d spend my time trying to force them into liking me.
