TRACY'S POV:

I stood at the edge of the rooftop, my gaze fixed on the glittering city lights that stretched endlessly before me. Folks City – the place I now call home. It is beautiful, powerful, and relentless. Just like me.

Five years ago, I was a naive  girl who believed in love, friendship, and loyalty. But life has a way of teaching cruel lessons, and I learned mine the hard way. I was Tracy Brooks, the girl who had a secret crush on her best friend's twin brother. I thought playing hard to get would make Dante notice me. And it worked. It worked too well.

I chuckled bitterly, recalling those years, when my heart raced at the mere thought of him. I was young and foolish. I fell for his charm, his sweet words, and those mesmerizing eyes that always seemed to see right through me. But he never really saw me, did he? To him, I was just a game. A bet.

If only I had known then what I know now. If only I had known that my best friend, Anna, would become my nightmare. She forgot all the childhood promises we made to each other, so easily . She didn't think twice before using her brother to ruin my life.

I still remember the look on her face when she walked in on Dante and me having sex. Her eyes were cold. She didn’t scream or shout. No, Anna was smarter than that. She simply walked out without a word.

I know that I didn't keep my own promise of seeing Dante as my brother. I fought with my heart not to fall for him but the more I fought that feeling, the more I fell deeper in love with him.

I didn’t know she was the reason behind the whispers, the laughter, the bullying that followed me everywhere at school. Anna was the puppeteer, and I was her favorite toy to break.

And Dante... He was just a pawn in her game. But that didn’t make his betrayal any less painful. I gave him everything. I gave him my heart, my trust, my innocence. I gave him a child.

My fingers instinctively touched my stomach, remembering the life that once grew within me. I wanted to tell him. I wanted him to know he was going to be a father. But he never gave me the chance. Instead, he chose to humiliate me in the worst way possible – by proposing to Ava, right in front of me.

I still remember how the room spun, how my heart shattered into a million pieces. I stood there, frozen, watching the man I loved put a ring on another woman’s finger while everyone cheered. My world collapsed that night. And when my mother found the pregnancy test, she didn’t say a word. She just looked at me with disgust and threw me out of the house.

I was alone. Abandoned. Betrayed. Broken.

But life had one more surprise for me. In that darkest moment, I met him – my biological father. The man who was supposed to be dead. The man who turned out to be a billionaire. He took me in, sheltered me, trained me, and molded me into the woman I am today. Ruthless. Heartless. Unbreakable.

Love was my weakness. So I buried it. Along with every trace of the girl who once believed in fairy tales. Tracy Brooks died the night she was betrayed. Now,  Tracy Whitmore – the stone-hearted CEO who crushes men’s egos for fun is reborn.

I turned away from the city lights, my heels clicking against the marble floor as I walked back to my office. My assistant was waiting for me, her eyes wide with fear. “M-Miss Whitmore, the board members are ready for you.”

“Good,” I said coldly, adjusting my suit. “Let them wait a little longer. I want them to remember who holds the power here.”

Five years had passed, but the scars were still fresh. Dante, Anna, Ava... They took everything from me. But they didn’t break me.

I was back. And this time, I was going to make them pay.

“Get my laptop, and follow me”. I said to my assistant, Emilia who didn't hesitate a second before carrying out my order.

I entered the board room, my presence commanding attention from the board members. I took my seat at the head of the table. I saw fear, admiration from my board members.

“The market is doing well, and it's now the number one in the city and beyond. But we have not achieved our aims yet. My aim is to be the number one fashion designer in at least six different countries.

We have conquered about four countries with our designs, let's put in more effort to conquer the remaining countries”.

“Miss… Whitmore there is a company that wants to collaborate with us and after my background check on them, I found out that they will add value to this firm”. Mr Luis, my business development manager said amidst fear.

“Several companies want a collaboration with my company but none has met the standard that I set for them, so what makes you think that this very company would profit us?” I asked Mr Luis who started sweating profusely even with the AC on.

“You have no answer to my question?”. I asked with irritation evident in my tone.

“Well… Miss Whitmore, I suggest that you do more investigation yourself.  I have no issues with that”.

“I don't want to collaborate with any company anymore. The level my business is in now, is the level that no collaboration is needed. So for now, stop accepting any business collaboration offer”. I said firmly.

“Alright, Miss Whitmore”.

We discussed other matters arising before I adjourned the meeting because I had an important date I wanted to attend. Thinking about the plan I have installed for Lucas, brings immense joy to me. I can't wait to shatter his heart into pieces.

DANTE'S POVI came back from the hospital feeling pissed. Ava is really an asshole. She always does something to annoy me.I wonder how I left Tracy back then to be with a bitch like her.I was pouring myself a glass of wine when I noticed my phone on the counter. One missed call.Unknown number.I frowned. “Who the hell calls this late?”I stared at the screen for a few seconds, then decided to call back. The line rang once, twice… then a soft female voice answered.“Hello? City Hospital, Ward Seven. How may I help you?”I paused, confused. “Hospital?”“Yes, this is the City Hospital,” the voice said politely. “Who am I speaking with?”“This is Dante,” I replied. “Your number called me an hour ago.”“Oh…” The nurse’s tone shifted. “Then maybe one of the patients in this ward dialed your number, sir.”My chest tightened a little. “A patient?”“Yes, sir. Sometimes patients use the ward's phone when they need to reach someone urgently.”I leaned against the glass wall, my brows knitting

JACOB'S POVThe scream came first.A sharp, terrified sound that cut through the air above the pool.I turned my head and that’s when I saw her.Tracy was struggling in the water. Her arms floated weakly beside her, her head tilting backward as bubbles rose around her. The water swallowed her slowly, pulling her under. For a second, the world froze. Then I moved.“Tracy!” I shouted, my voice echoing across the water.I didn’t waste another breath. I dove forward, my arms cutting through the pool in hard, fast strokes. My chest burned, but I didn’t stop. The barrier dividing our side of the pool hit my shoulder as I tore through it. All I could see was her hair drifting like dark silk under the blue water. When I reached her, she was already sinking deeper.I grabbed her by the waist, pulling her up with all my strength. Her body was limp, no resistance, and no sound. The silence scared me more than anything.“Come on, Tracy,” I muttered, tightening my grip as I kicked upward. “Stay w

TRACY'S POV:I was bored sitting in the ward for almost all day without even knowing where my loved ones are currently. My mind was full of fog. Every time I tried to remember what happened before I woke up, my head began to hurt.Everyone kept saying I was married. That I had a son. But how could that be? The last thing I remembered was being with Dante… and Anna laughing beside me.Where were they now?I sat up slowly and looked around the room. My eyes landed on the hospital telephone sitting on the small table beside the window.Maybe… maybe if I call them, I’ll finally understand.I picked up the receiver with shaky hands. “Okay, Tracy… think,” I whispered to myself. “You remember Dante’s number. Try it.”I slowly pressed the buttons, one by one, and held the phone close to my ear.Ring… ring… ring…My heart beat faster. “Please pick up, Dante… please.”But then…The number you have dialed is not available.I froze. “No, no, no… not now.”I tried again. Same thing.I felt tears

JACOB'S POVTracy’s question hit me like a wave I wasn’t ready for.“Where is Dante? Anna? And my mother?” She asked again. For a moment, I couldn’t speak. My mouth opened, but no words came out. My chest felt tight. I had waited for her to wake up for so long, but not like this, not with her remembering someone else instead of me.She stared at me with confused eyes, her voice weak but curious. “Why do you look so shocked? Did something happen to them?”I swallowed hard, forcing my voice to stay calm. “Tracy… who is Dante to you?”She blinked. “Dante?” Her lips curved into a small, soft smile. “He’s my boyfriend. Why?”The room suddenly felt colder. I could feel the doctor watching me, but I didn’t move. I didn’t flinch. On the outside, I stayed calm, but inside, it felt like someone had just stabbed me.Her boyfriend. That name again.Dante, the man she used to love before everything changed. Before she was betrayed by him.I clenched my hands quietly at my side. I couldn’t let her

  • A Night With My Best Friend'sTwin Brother   Chapter 55: The Second Awakening

JACOB'S POVTwo long weeks had passed since Tracy’s fingers first moved.Every morning, I walked into that white, quiet hospital room hoping she would open her eyes but she didn’t. The machines still beeped beside her bed, and her chest still rose and fell gently, but she didn’t wake up.She looked peaceful, like she was just sleeping. But I knew she wasn’t.And every day, I saw Alvin getting thinner. His cheeks were no longer round, and his bright smile had faded. The boy barely ate. Sometimes, he would sit beside her bed for hours, whispering, “Mommy, please wake up. I miss you.”It broke my heart to see him like that. That afternoon, I walked into the room and saw Alvin sitting on the chair, holding Tracy’s hand tightly. His small head rested on the edge of the bed. He had fallen asleep crying again.I sighed quietly and knelt beside him. “Hey, buddy,” I said softly. “You haven’t eaten your lunch.”He lifted his head and rubbed his sleepy eyes. “I’m not hungry.”“You said that yest

  • A Night With My Best Friend'sTwin Brother   Chapter 54: The Plan

AVA’S POVDante had been acting like a ghost for weeks. Every time I saw him, his eyes were dull, empty, like someone had stolen the life out of him. He barely spoke. He didn’t go to work. He just sat in that big, dark mansion, drinking his nights away.It made me angry. He was wasting himself over a woman who didn’t even deserve him. Tracy. The name alone made my stomach twist. She had everything, Dante’s love, his attention, his loyalty, everything I wanted. And she threw it all away. Now she is gone. Good. And Dante was mine to claim.I walked into his study that night, the smell of whiskey filling the air. The curtains were half-drawn, the room dark except for the faint glow from the lamp on his desk. Bottles littered the table, and Dante was slumped in his chair, a glass dangling loosely from his hand.“Dante,” I said softly. He didn’t look up. “Go home, Ava.”I smiled, stepping closer. “You’ve been saying that for weeks. I think you like having me around.”He gave a low, humorle
