LOGINTRACY'S POV:
When I stepped outside with Williams escorting me, I called Lucas to tell him that I was done with the meeting.
“Hello sweet baby”. I kinda got irritated with the odd names he uses to entice me. I can't wait to discard him just like I did with the other rich men.
“I am done with the meeting”. I said calmly.
“Wow… you were quite fast with it. I am at the parking lot already waiting for you”. He said cheerfully.
“Please can you come to the entrance of the building?”.
“Right away, my lady”. He replied and I am sure he must be grinning from ear to ear right now.
“James, you can go back now since Lucas has come to pick me up”. I said to James who has been waiting for me.
“Actually, Boss Lucas said I should hold on”. He replied to me calmly.
Lucas arrived in the next few minutes with his limo. This limo is his favourite, when he came out, I observed he looked more handsome tonight but I must confess, not as handsome and muscular as Dante.
“You look so stunning babe”. He pecked my cheeks and hugged me.
“You look quite handsome tonight, what's the occasion Lucas?” I asked with a smile.
“It's a surprise Babe, let's go to the venue first and every one of your questions will be answered”. He replied and kissed my forehead.
“Alright, let's go because I can't wait to see what you have installed for me”. I said with a sweet smile.
Actually, when he told me that he wanted us to go on a date today, I found out the venue and also informed the media about it in case he proposed to me.
“James, you can leave this car here, drive this limo instead to the venue”. He instructed James, who didn't hesitate at all to follow his orders.
The limo door opened automatically and I went in with Lucas behind me.
When we got to the venue. It was decorated with red balloons that have a heart shape. The decoration was quite impressive.
I stood at the entrance of the hall. The media and other newspaper companies were present just as I arranged.
“You look so stunning my love”. He complimented me again with a proud smile.
“I always look beautiful just for your sake”. I replied with a blush.
“Let's go in. I have so many surprises installed for you”. He said and led me inside the hall.
“Wait, Lucas I thought you said it's a date night,, why are so many people here including the Media?”. I pretended to not know what's going on.
“Well, I wanted the whole world to know that you are so sweet and gentle. And you are not a stone hearted woman just as they perceive you to be. I don't know who invited the media but I think the person deserves a gift from me because the media will make everything go viral and that's exactly what I want”. He replied with a smile.
“Lucas, you know that I don't care about other people's opinion about me. It's your opinion that matters to me and no one else's”.He leaned closer, trying to close the distance between us and place a kiss on my lips, but I was quick enough to move my head to the side and avoid his lips. His face clouded with disappointment, but I stared at him through my lashes and gave him a shy smile.
“Shall we, my lady?”. He bowed like a gentleman and I followed him.
Everyone gasped when they saw me. I already told the media that I, invited, that no matter what, they shouldn't come out to ask me any question.
They whispered about my beauty and how compatible I looked with Lucas.
Lucas settled me down on a red beautifully decorated chair, then he stepped out to get the microphone.
“I really don't know what to or how to say what I'm about to say to you Tracy. I know that you are quite surprised and curious about what is happening here today. It's time for me to answer all of your questions but before I answer yours, I would be the happiest man on earth if you answer mine in a positive way first”. He paused and took a deep breath before he slowly knelt on one knee. He held a small velvet box in his hand.
“Tracy, we have been through so much together and I can't imagine my life without you. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?”. Lucas' voice cracked as he opened the velvet box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.
The cameras flashed and the crowd murmured amongst themselves while waiting for my response. But I just focused on my next move without being distracted by their whispering.
I stood up with a sly smile displayed boldly on my face.
“What quality do you have to have the guts to propose to me, Lucas?”. I looked down at Lucas with a cold expression on my face.
I saw disbelief, doubt and fear in Lucas's eyes. He stood up slowly with his lips parted in shock.
“I don't understand my love. What's this question you are asking me?”. He asked, surprise evident in his facial expression.
“What makes you think that you are so special Lucas, that I won't break your heart the way I did with other men?”. I asked him coldly.
“I don't understand Tracy, please stop this drama and tell me what's going on with you”. He got a bit irritated this time.
“I can't get married to you Lucas. In fact I was just playing with your heart all along. If you can remember, I've never told you that I loved you” Without a hint of emotion, I replied coldly.
“So what you are saying is that all these rumors about you are true?”. He asked with tears threatening to fall from his eyes but that only increased my happiness, I just like my victim to be helpless and vulnerable before me.
“Yes, they are. And you won't be the last”. I answered with a victorious smile displayed on my lips.
“You bitch, I thought that the guys you dated were scumbags and they don't know how valuable you are. But it seems I was fooled all along”. His eyes turned cold as he spoke but I didn't even flinch.
“Breaking men's hearts is like leisure work to me. It gives me immense joy and happiness. Fall in love with me and you will get your heart broken in a million pieces. Because I will make sure to attack at your weakest point”. I smirked as I spoke.
“You are crazy. I will make you pay for this pain you have caused me for no reason. Is it a crime to love you huh?”. He got so furious at me. My shadow securities stood alert in case he tried to hurt me.
“I said before that this heart breaker was gonna do the same as always”.
“Lucas was so foolish to have fallen inside her trap”.
“Even when he knew the history of how she broke other men's hearts, he chose to still test the water and now look at the result”.
Guests spoke one after another, cameras continued to flash nonstop.
“I won't let you get away with this, I will make sure to strike when you have finally found the man you truly love. I will show you how painful it is to be heartbroken. He spat every word with all the hatred in him.
“For me to be an expert on breaking men's hearts, it means I have passed through something much worse than this, so nothing can break me anymore”. I gave him a disdainful look.
I walked out of the hall with a cold look that made the crowd shiver in fear. I have already informed my driver to wait for me outside. I needed to celebrate for breaking Lucas's heart successfully.
DANTE'S POVI came back from the hospital feeling pissed. Ava is really an asshole. She always does something to annoy me.I wonder how I left Tracy back then to be with a bitch like her.I was pouring myself a glass of wine when I noticed my phone on the counter. One missed call.Unknown number.I frowned. “Who the hell calls this late?”I stared at the screen for a few seconds, then decided to call back. The line rang once, twice… then a soft female voice answered.“Hello? City Hospital, Ward Seven. How may I help you?”I paused, confused. “Hospital?”“Yes, this is the City Hospital,” the voice said politely. “Who am I speaking with?”“This is Dante,” I replied. “Your number called me an hour ago.”“Oh…” The nurse’s tone shifted. “Then maybe one of the patients in this ward dialed your number, sir.”My chest tightened a little. “A patient?”“Yes, sir. Sometimes patients use the ward's phone when they need to reach someone urgently.”I leaned against the glass wall, my brows knitting
JACOB'S POVThe scream came first.A sharp, terrified sound that cut through the air above the pool.I turned my head and that’s when I saw her.Tracy was struggling in the water. Her arms floated weakly beside her, her head tilting backward as bubbles rose around her. The water swallowed her slowly, pulling her under. For a second, the world froze. Then I moved.“Tracy!” I shouted, my voice echoing across the water.I didn’t waste another breath. I dove forward, my arms cutting through the pool in hard, fast strokes. My chest burned, but I didn’t stop. The barrier dividing our side of the pool hit my shoulder as I tore through it. All I could see was her hair drifting like dark silk under the blue water. When I reached her, she was already sinking deeper.I grabbed her by the waist, pulling her up with all my strength. Her body was limp, no resistance, and no sound. The silence scared me more than anything.“Come on, Tracy,” I muttered, tightening my grip as I kicked upward. “Stay w
TRACY'S POV:I was bored sitting in the ward for almost all day without even knowing where my loved ones are currently. My mind was full of fog. Every time I tried to remember what happened before I woke up, my head began to hurt.Everyone kept saying I was married. That I had a son. But how could that be? The last thing I remembered was being with Dante… and Anna laughing beside me.Where were they now?I sat up slowly and looked around the room. My eyes landed on the hospital telephone sitting on the small table beside the window.Maybe… maybe if I call them, I’ll finally understand.I picked up the receiver with shaky hands. “Okay, Tracy… think,” I whispered to myself. “You remember Dante’s number. Try it.”I slowly pressed the buttons, one by one, and held the phone close to my ear.Ring… ring… ring…My heart beat faster. “Please pick up, Dante… please.”But then…The number you have dialed is not available.I froze. “No, no, no… not now.”I tried again. Same thing.I felt tears
JACOB'S POVTracy’s question hit me like a wave I wasn’t ready for.“Where is Dante? Anna? And my mother?” She asked again. For a moment, I couldn’t speak. My mouth opened, but no words came out. My chest felt tight. I had waited for her to wake up for so long, but not like this, not with her remembering someone else instead of me.She stared at me with confused eyes, her voice weak but curious. “Why do you look so shocked? Did something happen to them?”I swallowed hard, forcing my voice to stay calm. “Tracy… who is Dante to you?”She blinked. “Dante?” Her lips curved into a small, soft smile. “He’s my boyfriend. Why?”The room suddenly felt colder. I could feel the doctor watching me, but I didn’t move. I didn’t flinch. On the outside, I stayed calm, but inside, it felt like someone had just stabbed me.Her boyfriend. That name again.Dante, the man she used to love before everything changed. Before she was betrayed by him.I clenched my hands quietly at my side. I couldn’t let her
JACOB'S POVTwo long weeks had passed since Tracy’s fingers first moved.Every morning, I walked into that white, quiet hospital room hoping she would open her eyes but she didn’t. The machines still beeped beside her bed, and her chest still rose and fell gently, but she didn’t wake up.She looked peaceful, like she was just sleeping. But I knew she wasn’t.And every day, I saw Alvin getting thinner. His cheeks were no longer round, and his bright smile had faded. The boy barely ate. Sometimes, he would sit beside her bed for hours, whispering, “Mommy, please wake up. I miss you.”It broke my heart to see him like that. That afternoon, I walked into the room and saw Alvin sitting on the chair, holding Tracy’s hand tightly. His small head rested on the edge of the bed. He had fallen asleep crying again.I sighed quietly and knelt beside him. “Hey, buddy,” I said softly. “You haven’t eaten your lunch.”He lifted his head and rubbed his sleepy eyes. “I’m not hungry.”“You said that yest
AVA’S POVDante had been acting like a ghost for weeks. Every time I saw him, his eyes were dull, empty, like someone had stolen the life out of him. He barely spoke. He didn’t go to work. He just sat in that big, dark mansion, drinking his nights away.It made me angry. He was wasting himself over a woman who didn’t even deserve him. Tracy. The name alone made my stomach twist. She had everything, Dante’s love, his attention, his loyalty, everything I wanted. And she threw it all away. Now she is gone. Good. And Dante was mine to claim.I walked into his study that night, the smell of whiskey filling the air. The curtains were half-drawn, the room dark except for the faint glow from the lamp on his desk. Bottles littered the table, and Dante was slumped in his chair, a glass dangling loosely from his hand.“Dante,” I said softly. He didn’t look up. “Go home, Ava.”I smiled, stepping closer. “You’ve been saying that for weeks. I think you like having me around.”He gave a low, humorle
