CHAPTER 6

Ryscel’s POV

“Pregnant?” Gulat ko na saad matapos sabihin iyon ni doctor na kaharap ko.

Doc. Russel Falcon, my father.

Yeah, this man is indeed my father, the person I hate the most.

I came from a wealthy family but I left all that wealth behind to live on my own, hindi ko siya kinikilalang ama ko. After he ruined our own family, I cut all my ties with him.

I will never forgive him sa ginawa niya kay Mom. His heartlessness killed her. It’s all his fault.

“Ryscel, are you the father of her child?” Seryoso nitong tanong sa ‘kin na ikina asik ko.

“Doc, whoever the father of miss Czarina’s child is none of your business, now I need to see her! Get out of my way!” I snapped at him but he blocked my way.

“Ryscel, don’t talk to me like that, you left me for years at matapos natin magkita ulit, that’s how you’re going to speak to me?” Akmang hahawakan niya ako but I move away.

Matalim akong tumingin sa kanya.

“Don’t lay your filthy hands on me, hospital ito, don’t bring up your personal affairs here, and it’s your fault why I left, I know you’re fully aware of that.” Galit ko na saad kaya napa buntong-hininga ito.

“Son, don’t be like this.” His eyes are full of guilt, but I don’t care.

“I’m not your son, get out of my way.” Ma awtoridad ko na saad 

All I want is to talk to miss Czarina. I don’t want to deal with this old man.

The baby miss Czarina’s carrying might be mine.

What happened that night sa ‘min, it’s possible na ako ang ama ng dinadala niya. And as I remembered, I think I'm her first.

“Okay, I won’t interfere with your business anymore, but miss Montémayor is still unconscious, it’s better to wait for her na magising before I tell her the news.” Paliwanag nito sa ‘kin.

I sighed in frustration.

Damn, I want to see if she’s okay. She overworked herself without knowing she’s pregnant.

Wala akong magawa kundi mag hintay dito sa labas ng emergency room. I will wait for her to wake up.  

Nakaupo lamang ako, balisa. Overthinking everything, If it’s my child, I will surely protect it, no matter what. But what if miss Czarina doesn't want it? After all, what happened between us is all an accident.

And I know miss Czarina, she prioritizes her work. If her family finds out that she’s pregnant, they will surely take advantage of her and bring her down.

Shit, what did I do? 

I’ve causing her a lot of trouble.

I stayed by her side for 4 years to repay her for saving my life, but look what I did instead, I’m ruining her life.

Na-alala ko pa ang araw na niligtas niya ako. That day, I promised myself to be with that woman’s side no matter what happens. 

FLASHBACK

“Mom, why do you have to do it?” I stand on the edge of the bridge, reminiscing the memories with my mother.

She died, she commited suicide after finding out my father’s infidelity.

I’m angry at my own father. Mom was so kind to him and she loves him so much. How could he cheat on her?

I will never forgive that man, kahit mamatay pa ako, I won’t forget the cruelty he did to us, he destroyed our family!

Tears started escaping my eyes as I remembered the scene of my Mother taking her own life. 

She jumped off a building, I tried saving her but I was too late. Without my Mother, how can I live?

Maybe I should also end it here.

Napatingin ako sa ilalim ng tulay. I will surely die if I jump from here. There’s no reason to live anymore. Sirang-sira na ako.

My father cheated and ruined our family while my mother killed herself. All my heartless relatives, instead of grieve, they laughed at me.

I just couldn't keep moving anymore.

I closed my eyes, preparing myself for doing the unthinkable.

A shed of tear dropped falling from my eyes as I was about to let go. But, just as I was about to loose my grip, someone grabbed me.

Napahabol ako sa aking paghinga.

Napamulat ako and I was surprised to find an angelic face, she’s worried while looking at me. 

She gripped on my hand, tight.

“What the heck are you doing?!” She couldn't believe what I was about to do.

She pulled me away from the edge. 

Napaupo ako sa gilid ng highway. I felt like natauhan ako dahil sa pagligtas niya sa akin.

“Are you trying to do something crazy huh? If you have a problem, go see a therapist, don’t do something like this!” She scolded me.

Nagulat ako sa naging reaksyon niya. She's a total stranger yet she cared for me more than how my relatives cared.

I didn’t speak

I couldn't, napaiyak na lamang ako.

Her expression completely softened as she saw my tears. Napaluhod ito upang mapantayan niya ako.

She wiped away my tears. I didn’t spot her nor resist, hinayaan ko lang siya despite not knowing her.

The warmth in her touch was comforting.

“Don’t let sadness take over you, you will get over this, jumping off from that edge won’t change anything.” She gently caressed my face.

That day, I had a reason to live, and that is miss Czarina. She gave me purpose to live again.

And from that moment on, I looked for her and found out that she’s the CEO of a wedding planner company.

I was thrilled, she’s successful and she deserves it, sobrang bait niya. Everyone in the company loves her for being caring to her employees.

I applied as her secretary to be by her side. She didn’t remember me, but I remembered how she gave me a reason to live again.

Ever since then, I’ve devoted my life as her secretary, helping her in everything. I was also shocked to find out that she cut her ties with her family kagaya ko.

Who would have thought that the woman who saved me, had also been drowning with problems all her life.

“I promise, miss Czarina, I won’t let any harm near you…” I always keep my promise.

I will protect you kahit maging buhay ko pa ang kapalit miss Czarina.
