Chapter 112 – Figure out what you want.

Chris’s POV

I stepped out of the bakery.

The door closed behind me, but my heart was still inside.

My steps were heavy. My hands were shaking, but not from cold….from anger. From confusion. From pain.

I didn’t know where I was going, but I just walked. Fast. Like if I stopped, I would explode.

Diana. That woman.

I didn’t know whether to scream or cry.

She let him drag her like that? How could he do such a thing to her? And she didn’t move.

She just stood there. Looking tired. Looking guilty.

Maybe I shouldn’t care this much.

Maybe I shouldn’t feel like this.

But I did.

I reached the street and paused. My heart was pounding in my chest like it was trying to escape. I placed both hands on my head and looked up at the sky. It was cloudless, yet I felt like it should rain. It felt like one of those days where the world should match your pain.

But it didn’t.

People passed me, laughing, smiling, holding hands.

I wanted to scream at them.

Chapter 115 – The Mystery Mrs. Rose’s POVThe morning began like any other, though I knew it would not end like any other.I woke before the sun, the room still dim and quiet, the air cool against my skin. The soft ticking of the small clock by the bed kept me company as I swung my legs to the floor. Today was the day I had decided to leave… and take Star with me.I moved slowly, quietly, so as not to wake anyone yet. My suitcase was already half-packed from the night before. This morning, I only had to fold the last of my clothes and tuck away the gifts I had bought for Star. I wanted him to have something to remember me by if the journey took longer than I hoped. When my bag was ready, I began on Star’s. I placed his small shirts and trousers inside, along with his soft blanket—the one he loved to sleep with. My hands moved quickly, but my mind wandered. I thought of how he would react when I told him he was coming with me. Would he be excited? Would he cry for his mother? My heart

Chapter 114 – protecting my grandsonMrs. Rose’s POVThe morning light was soft when it came through the window, painting the walls with a pale gold. It was one of those mornings where the air feels calm, yet inside my chest, my heart was not quiet. I sat quietly at the small table in the corner of the room, my hands wrapped around a warm cup of tea. The steam curled upward and touched my face, but I hardly noticed. It had been many weeks since I came here, and now… Diana was finally recovering and had started her Baking business. Her skin had color again, her voice was stronger, and the heavy tiredness in her eyes was fading. I had been with her every day, helping her eat, making sure she took her medicine, sitting beside her when the nights were long and full of worry. I had done everything a mother would do for her child, and maybe even more. And now… it was time to go.I told myself this again and again in my head. It was time for me to leave. My work here was done. But my heart…

Chapter 113 – The Ones I LoveDiana’s POVI closed the door behind me gently, as if I had slammed it, and everything inside me would shatter. But I was already broken. My hands were shaking. My chest felt tight. Every part of me was screaming, but no sound came out.I didn’t know what to do with myself. So I just stood there… staring at nothing… feeling everything.“Diana?” my mom’s voice called from the kitchen.I didn’t answer. She came around the corner, wiping her hands with a kitchen towel, and the moment she saw my face… she knew. She dropped the towel and opened her arms.I didn’t hesitate.I walked straight into her hug and broke down completely.Tears poured out of me like a storm. I couldn’t even catch my breath. My sobs were loud, ugly, raw.She held me tight, one hand cradling the back of my head, the other rubbing my back in slow, soft circles.“It’s okay,” she whispered. “Cry, baby. Let it out.”And I did.I cried like I hadn’t cried in years.Because the weight of every

Chapter 111 –The Chubby Boy Chris’s POVI still remember the moment I saw her again.Diana stood by the bakery door like a shadow of herself. She was pale and thin, her eyes tired and distant. But even in her broken state, she looked beautiful….strong in a quiet, painful way. I didn’t say a word at first. I just walked up, opened my arms, and held her tight. She didn’t resist. She leaned into me like someone walking alone in the cold for too long.I kissed her forehead gently. “You’re safe now,” I whispered. “You’re safe.”She said nothing. Just let out a deep breath and nodded.“Come on in,” she said, I followed her inside The place smelled like cinnamon, flour, and memories. It looked just as she left it…untouched, quiet. She took one step into the bakery, then another. Her legs trembled slightly.“Sit,” I told her firmly, leading her to the chair behind the counter. “I’ll check things for you if you need my help. You don’t need to do anything right now.”She obeyed without argu
