“How was your day, Cale?” Bea asked as soon as she fastened the kid’s seatbelt.

“It’s fine…” Caleb looked at the window without even meeting Bea’s eyes.

Bea just dismissed it and thought that the kid was tired. She sat on the passenger seat and just listened to the silence. However, she could not take it. Usually, Caleb would talk about how his day went until he fell asleep. She was afraid that something happened in that house that he did not want to tell them about.

“Caleb?” Bea looked at him in the rearview mirror.

“Hmm?” Caleb seemed uninterested, he did not even look at her. Was he mad that she did not accompany him to his grandfather’s house?

“Will you tell Mommy if something was wrong?” Bea asked in a soft and gentle manner.
