Chapter 4: Conversations, Uniforms

"Hello?" Yomiel answered the phone call made by Reagan.

"Were you in the Fyuneral? Your Dad called me for an emergency, it seems like you're solving this case by yourself dude. Sorry, anyway, I'm outside the Fyuneral and currently on their parking lot, I'll explain more further when your here, okay?" Reagan said and ended the call.

Yomiel sighed, took one last glance on the corpses on the door’s window. It wasn't his first time here but he feels something is odd around the atmosphere of the funeral services.

He thought he was just imagining it and then he  exited the Fyuneral. He saw his black roadster on the parking lot the moment he exited the facility. He went towards it and Reagan opened the car door for him as he tossed the key to him.

"So, how was the time travel? Got any clues? How did they die?" Reagan asked Yomiel as if he was in a hurry.

Reagan knows about Yomiel’s ability after all. There was a total of three people who knows. His father, Devon Argentum. His best friend Reagan Rheed. And Reagan’s sister, Ky Marren. Ky was also his dad’s secretary after all. Reagan and Ky weren’t really siblings but since they were both blonde, Ky adopted him as her younger brother after his parents died. Yomiel knows everything about Reagan since he’s bad at keeping secrets.

"Fine I guess, my clue would be a girl with wavy hair, crop top, short skirt, and fishnet stockings. They probably died of pleasure." He told Reagan. He looked like he was on a bad mood as Reagan looked at him.

"By the way, they only found four dead boys’ bodies? Not any body of a girl?" He added as he started the car engine and drove away.

"Well, that's the only one given to us. Died of pleasure eh, you mean they're..." Reagan couldn't find the word he should use.

"Yeah, they were fucking with a girl and they probably died of blood loss because she did them too good." Yomiel rolled his eyes as he sighed deeply.

Reagan burst out laughing out loud. "God! I'm jealous, I want that to be my cause of death too! Ha! That’s probably the reason why you look bitter!" he kept on laughing.

Yomiel wasn't on the mood. He just sighed again.

"It sucks to be single, eh?" Reagan teased him.

"So, why did Dad call you eh?" Yomiel changed the topic.

"I don't know. Fuck, I forgot! We should go now." Reagan said.

"Anyway dude, drive me back to the office first, I can't afford to commute. I left my wallet on my desk and good thing there was a small change on my pocket which I used to pay the cab to get on your condo." Reagan explained. "And I'm afraid if I arrived a minute late, your dad might fire me, you know." He added.

"Seriously? We've been friends since high school, why worry about that?" Yomiel said as he turned left.

"Well, your dad is strict and scary after all even on you. Come to think of it, you're already twenty-six yet —" Reagan was interrupted.

"You know, ever since I turned twenty-six, you never stop joking stuff like that. Come on, I know. And you're already twenty-five yet single, we're both single and we’ll probably both die single. How about that?" Yomiel rolled his eyes as he interrupted Reagan while there was traffic. It's literally three p.m. and there's already traffic.

Yomiel calms himself down and somehow, Reagan just shut up. He knows his limits after all. But he couldn’t stand silence in traffic.

"By the way, did you feel the strong earthquake last night around twelve?" Reagan asked Yomiel.

Reagan was the type of person who could not stand silence, he always wants someone to talk to and that's why Reagan mostly does the interviews as Yomiel observes and jot down notes.

"Earthquake? That was an earthquake? I thought I was just having a bad dream or that falling feeling when you're lying on bed." Yomiel replied to Reagan who was picking his nose.

"Dude, that's a magnitude seven earthquake. The epicenter was on the main campus of the famous school Enigma University, that's like eighty kilometers away from here." Reagan explained as he wiped his fingers on his pants. Yomiel was glad that he didn't wipe it on the car window or door handle. It was disgusting.

"Wait, didn't they cancelled all the classes on their school and send all their employees and students home yesterday morning? I think I saw that on the news." Yomiel replied as there was a joy that sparked on him as the traffic started moving.

"Yeah, I'm kind of amazed on how the Dean of the university administrates the situation. Imagine if there are students on the dormitory. Anyway, this morning, I saw the destruction on the aerial view. All buildings were destroyed. Like all of them. Such a tragedy. By the way, the employees told the authority that the council was left in there. Some even reported that there are four students with the council left. Well, I hope those people survived." Reagan kept on talking to Yomiel.

Yomiel does listen to Reagan. He was a good listener after all.

"Why were you telling this to me though?" Yomiel asked.

"Nothing. Besides it's my sister's Alma mater after all. She said that it was a cool university. Though we're friends and I don't want to study there without you. Also, it's pretty far and sitting for two hours or more on a travel hurts my butt too much that I couldn't even stand." Reagan kept on complaining as Yomiel caught something.

There was that lady on white again with the guy they were walking together on the sidewalk. Yomiel then slowed down his driving and patted Reagan's shoulder.

"Hey, do you see that girl? The one in white together with a guy in white too?" He asked Reagan.

"Where? Oh... That. I think that's a uniform of some sort of organization. I saw a lot of them actually. Just your first time to see that uniform? Anyway, my sister told me to avoid them. That is some kind of an organization that hunts. That's what she explained to me when I asked. Why'd you suddenly thought of it?" Reagan asked Yomiel.

It was just a uniform. Yomiel thought. He could have asked the girl but they were in a hurry. He hopes to see that girl again.

"Nothing, it's just my first time to saw that uniform..." He told Reagan as he drives the car faster now.
