A knock on the door brought me back into reality. I groaned and proceeded to my door. When I opened the door, one of my chefs was standing there. Still decked on her apron and bonnet.

" Dinner is served, sir" she took a low bow.

What she did got me chuckling. She wasn't a slave, I took every one of my household employees as family. For doing all they were doing to satisfy me, I appreciated them. Even if they were doing it for the money, I still appreciated all their efforts.

" Are you new here? I don't think I've seen your face around here." I asked the chef as we walked to the dining.

She appeared to be uncomfortable around me, which gave me a hint that she was new.

As expected, she nodded her head bashfully.

" I thought as much, listen you don't have to be scared around me, we are all family here, okay?"

" B-but we are your employees, we should feel scared around you."

I stopped and turn to her. " I am not that kind of a boss my dear." I patted her shoulder and began walking ahead
