A strange confession

MAGNUS POV

I couldn't believe my ears when Miss Prisca stepped forward and admitted that she was the one who had killed the King. There was a collective gasp from everyone at her words.

"Miss Prisca, this is quite a serious matter, I'm not joking here" I said, trying to be polite. We had been close since I was a child and didn't want to insult her.

"I said that I was the one who poisoned the tea he took," She said, further confirming her words. She stood with her arms folded and seemed resigned to any fate that awaited her.

"You are covering up for someone, who is it?" I asked, impatient with her. She had to be shielding someone from my wrath.

"Miss Prisca?" Sophie called, going to stand beside her. "You don't have to protect the person. Please reconsider what you're saying.

She shrugged off Sophie's hands from her shoulder, her face was now animated. She looked like she had been bottling up her feelings for long.
