Chapter six

Grace's POV

I released a sigh of relief. I didn't notice I was holding as someone called Mr Hyde's name from behind us causing him to remove his hand from my thigh, but a part of me doesn't want him to stop the gentle magic he was doing to me.

"Gideon" the lady said softly as she walked closer towards us in an extremely tight dress.

Gideon?

What a boring name for an arrogant man" I said quietly in my mind as she stopped beside him.

She seems to be a couple of years older than me but there is something wrong with the look she gave me a few seconds ago.

Pretending not to be aware of her presence, I turned my gaze to my phone and started chatting with Lisa but I couldn't concentrate because half of my attention was directed at Mr Hyde and the poker face Lady.

"Ahhhhh! I screamed in pure terror as I felt a cold liquid stream down my body.

"I'm very sorry," the poker face said in an overly exaggerated surprised voice. She had tipped her glass of wine on me and was pretending not to see it.

The cold liquid made me shiver slightly as the liquid continued its journey down my body.

I swallow the word that was on the tip of my tongue as I excuse myself to the bathroom to fix my ruined dress.

I can't believe she would actually bath me a glass of freezing cold red wine out of nowhere.

I mumbled to myself angrily as I tried to dry off my wet dress with a paper towel.

No matter what I did there was still a wet patch on the dress.

As I was busy trying to make myself presentable again, the sound of heels moved closer to me.

"You need help," a soft voice said behind me, making me boil with anger.

I turned around to see the same lady, standing with a smug look on her face.

How can she act like this to a total stranger.

Without accepting her offer, I walked out of the bathroom pissed.

The party was coming to an end as people were walking out slowly.

I'm really glad it's finally over, I can't wait to get out of here.

Mr Hyde was standing feets away talking to an older man and their conversation seemed to be serious judging by the hard look on his face.

"Are you looking for me?" a soft voice whispered into my ear startling me.

What the heck?

"Daniel!" I yelled startled.

He is the least affected by my light scream as he smiles charmingly at me.

Oh! Come on!

"No I wasn't," I replied.

"Let's walk outside while you wait for your date," he said as he walked out and I followed behind even if my mind was telling me not to.

The night is cold outside, I shiver involuntarily as a wave of cold air hits my bare shoulder.

We walked out to the garden and sat in front of a pond. The pond was illuminated from inside, making me see how the fish swam around inside.

"I'm cold" I muttered softly under my breath as I wrapped my arms around myself wanting to keep warm.

I became flustered as a pair of strong arms surrounded me, engulfing me in its warmth.

"Let me keep you warm," Daniel said softly as we sat huddled together.

"I don't think this is right" I commented softly not liking how intimate we look right now.

He chuckled softly at my thoughts.

"I know but I don't care what others think, I'm just trying to keep you warm" He replied.

"What is going on here?" a bold voice said from behind us interrupting anything that was going on.

Gideon stood behind us looking like a devil reincarnated,I gently detach myself from Daniel's embrace.

"Nothing, we were just accompanying each other" I replied.

He raised an eyebrow at me for my choice of words.

I stare back at him as if daring him.

"Let go" he said as he turned and walked away in large angry strides.

“I have to go, it's nice meeting you here” I said in a hurry to Daniel and he smiled and waved at me as I hurried to catch up with Gideon.

It is difficult trying to catch up on my heels and I think he's doing that to punish me.

What a great man!

The journey back was slow and long, I drifted off to sleep tired from everything that happened today.

I opened my eyes slowly as I felt the ground move under me.

My surroundings are strange and I figured where we were right away.

"Why did you bring me here?" I asked as I shamelessly snuggled into his arms.

He is supposed to be your boss Grace.

My senses warned me but I ignored it.

"I promised to give you a massage," he replied as if he was talking about the weather.

What I need right now is sleep rather than a massage from this man.

I feel slightly embarrassed as a few maids threw us secret glances.

"I will be right back" he said softly as he dropped me on a king size bed and walked out of the room.

I'm so tired right now.

An idea popped up in my head and I stood up to click the door lock.

I chuckled at how he would react when the door refuses to open.

I lay back down on the bed waiting for him to come back from wherever he was.

Not before long sleep claimed me and I didn't even try to fight it.

I almost yelled when an alarm clock let out a shrill sound disturbing my sleep.

Can you just shut the fuck up!

I groaned as I blindly tried to switch it off but I couldn't find it.

What the heck!

I finally succeeded in switching it off after almost falling off the bed.

5am!

I shrieked as I saw the time displayed on the alarm clock.

I have never set my alarm to 5am before in my life.

Reality hit me as I noticed the unfamiliar room.

Oh my God!

I scrambled off the bed and ran into the bathroom almost tripping on my dress, I can't believe I slept in this dress.

The once beautiful dress is now wrinkled and dirty.

I sighed in frustration as I couldn't get the dress off, the zipper was not opening.

I spent almost an hour contemplating asking for help with it.

I opened the door carefully so as not to make any noise in the silent morning.

I stepped out of the room barefooted onto the cold marble floor, almost making me go back inside.

"Good morning" a voice said from behind startling me.

I turned around to see Gideon looking like he walked out of the pit of hell and was ready to eat me alive.
