THE ACCIDENT

Sara Meyers runs away in tears, her desperation is so great that she is not even able to see the sides of the avenue, the lights of a car surprise her with a hard blow, the tires of a car can be heard squeaking.

“We ran someone over!  Now what are we going to do?” The woman in the back of the car asks.

“We're in trouble, we need to get out of here immediately!” Says the driver of the car.

“He came out of nowhere, we have to stay please, we have to help him” Mason Clark says, with imminent anguish for what has just happened, he is the co-pilot of the car that has just run over Sara.

"Are you crazy? of course we're leaving, I don't want to be involved in legal troubles, my mother would kill me, my husband would leave me, take responsibility yourself, speed up Kenny please" says the woman pressing her hand on the driver.

"I'm sorry buddy, we're drunk, we could go to jail, we have to go."

"But what the, we can't leave, we have to help that person," Mason slams hard at the front of the co-pilot, while anger invades him at the reaction of his two friends. Despite being a man with his lifestyle, he was not insensitive, the very idea of having killed someone and walked away without doing anything would not let him live in peace.

Mason Clark, a young millionaire of twenty-five, son of one of the best families in the city, a man not so tall, but with an enviable body, since he was only dedicated to taking care of him, his presence was the most important thing, he had straight blonde hair, with honey-colored yellow eyes and snowy skin. Known in his social circle for the way he squandered his money, his generosity with his friends and especially the endless number of women who had passed through his room, he was the most sought-after bachelor in town. Both because of his physique and because of his millions.

Despite the fact that his parents had forced him to finish a degree at university, it was never important for Mason to work, he had a good bank booty because of the inheritance that his grandmother had left him and a business that gave him to have a dream life without even lifting a finger. Squandering money was his only job.

The car accelerates, leaving the woman lying on the ground, abandoned to the fate of what has happened to her.

“Ken, you couldn't leave it lying there, maybe the security cameras record the license plates of the car, we're going to have a worse problem” says Mason distraught.

“And what do you want us to do? That person came out of nowhere, we're all super drunk, the police will put us in jail for at least thirty years.

“What if she's dead?

"Look Mason, take the damn car and get out! go help him, I'll go home" Ken brakes the car, leaving the driver's seat.

The woman in the back does the same as him, they both run out of the scene, Mason takes the wheel and quickly returns to the site of the accident, and there he is still.

He gets out of the car quickly and realizes that it is a young woman, one about his age, she is unconscious, she seems dead, Mason holds his head with both hands and goes into a state of despair, he could not believe that a young woman had been hurt by his irresponsibility, so he decides to call the emergency services and ask for help.

While the ambulance arrives, Mason tries to find out if the woman has any bags with her documents, or has any cards that can identify her, but she is wearing nothing, only a white uniform, she seemed to be a nurse, in her breast pocket she has a badge with her name in capital letters SARA MEYERS, but there is nothing else that can identify her.

Soon the ambulance and the police arrive, Sara is quickly taken to a hospital and Mason is taken to the police.

"Wow, but it's Mr. Clark again," the policeman says to Mason. "But this time if the lights went out, running someone over is not cause for a simple penalty, you're in serious trouble Clark."

"I know, Roman, but I wasn't the one who really ran her over, I just turned back because I wanted to help her.

"Yes, if it wasn't you, then who was it?"

"Well..." Mason hesitates to betray his friend.

"I'm sorry, you're too old a man for you to get away with this, you're in custody, you can talk to your lawyer, now put your hands behind your back, from now on you'll be in our custody."

Mason resigns himself to the handcuffs while his thoughts are clouded by his future and especially by that woman, he had to find out what would happen to her, if her family would be aware of the situation, he wanted to help her.

Seeing Sara's face had caused him to be sensitive enough to think that he and his friends had hurt this young woman.

Mason Clark, the young millionaire is locked in a small and cold cell in the police station of his city, he does not stop thinking about Sara, that young woman with dark hair, brown skin and very simple physique, she is not like the women around him, she is a natural woman, with a beautiful face, so he makes us suppose that she must have a beautiful smile,  but Mason doesn't know if he'll be lucky enough to meet her one day.

"Boy, get up, the lawyer has made an agreement with the prosecutor, you're free," says Román as he opens the bars of the cell.

"Are you serious, thank you really," Mason says with a rather discouraged face.

"But you have to talk to your lawyer and sign some documents, otherwise you'll stay here for a long time."

"Whatever it takes Roman, all I want is to get out of here" Mason goes straight to find his lawyer, a small smile had lit up his face.

The lawyer is waiting for him with a series of documents, Hernán Guillem, he has been the Clark family's lawyer for many years, so Mason had placed all his trust in him.

"Boy, what trouble have you gotten yourself into? I almost can't negotiate your way out, you have the advantage that the girl is alive, otherwise you'd be in jail for a lot of years."

“I’m so happy that Sara is alive! I'm glad of the news, yes Hernán I know that I made a serious mistake, but I didn't drive the car, a friend did, but she came out of nowhere it was inevitable.

"But it was you who was found at the scene of the accident, the police said you were driving. There is no evidence to the contrary.

"When my friend ran over her, we ran away from the place, but I turned back, I knew I couldn't leave her lying there or she could have died.

"Well, she's very serious, we tried to search the city's databases with her name, and her DNA, but she's not from here, possibly from another city, and we don't have any information about her family.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Hernán, so what should we do?"

"Well, we don't know, I managed to make an agreement with the prosecutor, you have to pay bail and maybe compensation to the girl's family when they show up to cover their expenses, regarding her, I suppose they will treat her in the hospital.

"But she'll be alone as long as her family shows up, I don't think that's good.

"I don't know, boy, for now we have to go."

Mason leaves the place with Hernán, he could not have a clear conscience of what could happen to that girl, he was captivated, he had to look for his family.
