Chapter 3

At Robinsons Family Corporation.

A car door opened and a pair of long legs came out from inside. A man dressed in a custom_tailored black suit was seen walking into the company. And everyone’s attention was focused on him. The man is about 6.85 meters tall, with a strong and imposing figure that exudes a sense of security. His handsome face was sharply defined, radiating a fierce aura from every angle.. his calm and icy gaze was enough to deter anyone from meeting his eyes.

This man is Nathan one of the most influential people in the world.

The man who brought Robinsons Family Corporation to a level of success that no other company could compare to.

At first glance the workers nearby began to gossip.

The CEO is very handsome.”

“But he is so cold and aloof.”

I love him like that .”

“ I heard he is engaged to ms Williams.”

Tsk tsk tsk tsk

“I’m so envious of ms Williams,”

“I wish I’m the one engaged to the CEO .”

“Me too.”

“How can you guys dream of marrying the. CEO , do you come from a wealthy background?”

“That’s true, who are we to dream of marrying the CEO.”

“Seriously I don’t understand the style of the rich, the rich always end up with the rich, who are we a small employer to dream of becoming the CEO’s wife.”

“I heard is an arranged marriage, I don’t think the CEO loves Ms Willam.”

“ I think so too, I haven’t seen her with the CEO before “….

What are you guys talking about? Just then the General Managers voice rang out and the group who has been gossiping now stopped talking and focused on their work.

The elevator opened and Nathan walked out heading to his office.

“Good morning President Robinson,” Henry, Nathan assistant greeted him .

“Hmm,” Nathan answered .”prepare a cup of coffee and bring it to my office .”

“Okay boss ,” Henry replied and walked away.

Once inside, Nathan dropped his briefcase on the table, removed his jacket and walked toward the window lost in thought.

Since that night he slept with Jane he couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was off yet he couldn’t pinpoint what it is.even though he checked the hotel surveillance footage and everything seems normal, but a part of him refused to accept that the woman he slept with that night was Jane.

The face he saw that night overlap with the face he had been yearning for years in his memory , the familiar dark hazel eyes, the familiar eyebrows, the face were familiar in every ways and couldn’t be Jane’s.

At first he wasn’t bothered about this arranged marriage because he knew that Jane couldn’t be a virgin but he didn’t expect Jane and her mother to play a fast one on him.

And the problem is that he couldn’t even find evidence to present to his grandfather, and call off the marriage.

Is he really going to keep quiet and marry Jane?

Knock! Knock!

Just then there was a knock on the door, the sudden knock jotted Nathan out of his thoughts .

He quickly composed himself, “come in.”

Henry came in with a cup of coffee.

Seeing him Nathan glanced at his watch.”what’s my schedule for today?”

“You have a meeting with the stakeholders at 10 o’clock this morning, you have a meeting with president Seam at 1pm, you have a conference meeting at 4pm and the chairman invited you and ms Williams for dinner tonight….”

Just then Nicholas pushed the door open and walked in.

Nicholas is Nathan’s childhood friend and the CEO of the Reeds group, even though the Reeds group is not on par with the Robinsons family Corporation but it could at least rank second in the capital .

Nicholas is the only one who can walk into Nathan’s office without knocking.

Seeing him Nathan dismissed his assistant. “Henry you can go now.”

“Okay president Robinson ,” Henry left the office closing the door behind him.

Nicholas sat opposite Nathan who was busy signing some documents that needed his signature.

“Nathan how was your night with Jane?” Nicholas asked. Having grown up with Nathan he aware about his arranged marriage with Jane.

At the mention of Jane’s name Nathan smirked. “What do you think?”

“How should I know?” Nicholas shot back.

“She is not.”

Nicholas stared at him, frowning. “She is not? Then why do you look so gloomy ? Isn’t that what you have always wanted ? at least you can call off the marriage now.”

“Well, I really don’t know how to explain this, the girl I slept with that night was not Jane, even though I was drunk but the face I saw that night was the same face that have been in my memory. Although I wake up to see Jane by myself but I’m sure the girl I made love to, was not her,” Nathan Explained.

Nicholas was taken aback, after a moment he asked . “Did you check the hotel surveillance footage?”

“I did, and I didn’t see anything suspicious that’s why I’m confused..”

Nicholas knows that Nathan is not someone who jokes around , if he said the girl he slept with was not Jane then it’s definitely not her.

“What do you plan to do now? Knowing your grandfather he won’t believe you without evidence.”

“That’s my concern now, without a solid evidence my grandfather will not believe me, he will think I’m making this up because I don’t want to marry Jane.

Suddenly an idea struck Nicholas and his eyes lit up, “since you said that the woman you slept with was not Jae, that means Jane knows the woman, if we can be Able to find her, your problem will be solved .”

Have you check if Jane has a sister or a close friend?”

“I have, I found out Jane has a cousin sister who grew up in the countryside, but no matter how I tried I couldn’t find any information about this her cousin .

“I know you don’t love Jane but there is nothing you can do without evidence, maybe you can consider marrying her, after all Jane loves you.”

Nathan sneer, “Jane love me? Does she know the meaning of love? She and her mother are just after the position of Mrs Robinson and could do anything for it .she can fool others but she can’t fool me.”

“Since she wants to become Mrs Robinson I will grant her, her wish, after all the Robinsons family wealth is enough to sponsor a whole nation. But she shouldn’t expect anymore things from me.

Just then Henry knock on the door and entered. “President Robinson the meeting is about to start and the stakeholders are ready waiting for you in the conference room.”

“Got it.” Nathan replied.

Seeing this Nicholas got up to Leave, “ I have things to take care of in the office, so I will head out first ,” he took his briefcase and left.

Nathan stood up and headed to the conference room with Henry following behind him.
