A night with Mr President

“I can’t be… Stephanie mumbled.

She stare at the two red lines for God knows how long, unable to believe it.”this could be fake!” She assured herself and decided to try again, yet the results still show positive even after the third test.

Stephanie threw all the used test kits, Into inside the trash can and turn on the faucet to wash her face.

After calming down for a moment, Stephanie walked straight into the living room, picked up her cellphone and dialed a familiar number.

After the first ring the call was answered.

“Stephanie, what’s up?”

“Can you come over to my house now It’s urgent?””okay. I’m waiting for you”. Stephanie said and hung up the phone after receiving a positive response from the other end.

Just then a wave of nausea hit her again, making her gag. She rushed to the toilet, she had already emptied her stomach in the morning and hadn’t eaten anything since then , so nothing came out.

She had been feeling nauseous for the past few days, and now that she knew what the result was she couldn’t accept it.

After washing her hands she came out sat down in the living room lost in thought.

Even if the first one was a mistake, second and third can’t be, that means I’m pregnant.,

I can’t get pregnant for Nathan, he belongs to Jane.

That was just a one night stand, how can I get pregnant? What do I do with this child now? How will I explain this to my father? Countless questions filled her mind yet she could not find answers to them.

“Penny for your thoughts? ms William”

The sudden voice startled Stephanie out of her thoughts. She looked towards the direction of the voice and saw Elsie staring at her.

“When did you arrived ?”

“Just now?” Elsie replied.

Elsie observed her closely,”Steph, you look so pale and worn out, what’s wrong with you?” Elsie asked looking like a worried mother, who is concerned for her child.

“I’m fine”, Stephanie replied casually.

“You are fine? Then what were you thinking about just now, that you didn’t even notice when I walked in , what if it was an arm robber?” Elsie asked looking at her.

“Who robs in broad daylight?” Stephanie shot back

“You sounded so urgent on the phone, what’s up?” Elsie asked.

“I’m pregnant!” Stephanie blurted out.

“What do you mean you’re pregnant? You still have the mood to joke around? Let me take you to the hospital you don’t look okay!” Elsie insisted

“Elsie, I’m pregnant and I’m not joking, how can I joke with something like this?”

Elsie was momentarily taken aback, she stared at her face for a long time trying to detect any form of lying, but she couldn’t find any, even though she knows Stephanie is not one to joke around with something this serious, but she also knows that Stephanie is not in any sexual relationship, nor is she one to act recklessly, except… suddenly something struck her. “Were you rape? Who raped you? Tell me and I will definitely get justice for you no matter what it takes!” Elsie said sincerely.

When Stephanie heard Elsie talk about getting revenge for her she felt warm inside. Apart from her father Elsie was the only one who truly cared for her.

“ I was not raped, I did it willingly!” Stephanie answered honestly.

Elsie was not convinced , she knows that Stephanie is responsible and not the type who could engage in a reckless behavior, leading to unexpectedly pregnancy. Except if it’s her secret lover. Elsie knew that Stephanie had always had a crush on someone since she was younger ,

But she didn’t know who this mysterious guy is. Stephanie had rejected many romantic proposals because of him.

With this thought she decided to ask her but before she could Stephanie’s next sentence made her froze.

“I slept with Nathan Robinson, three weeks ago!”

Elsie’s eyes widened in shock, and she screamed. “What! Don’t tell me is the same cold and aloof Nathan Robinson that we all know, the president of the Robinsons family corporation. How did you end up with him?”

Being in the social circle, Elsie knows a lot about Nathan Robinson , who always has a calm and aloof demeanor as if nothing could ever rattle him. She knew that many women want to climb Nathan’s bed but none has ever succeeded. But now Stephanie not only slept with Nathan but also carrying his child.

“I thought I heard that he is engaged to your cousin? Or was it just a rumor? “

“Yes, he is getting married to my cousin Jane”…..

“Then why will he sleep with you? You need to call him right away and let him know you are pregnant for him, that marriage cannot hold because he must take responsibility for this pregnancy “. Elsie interrupted.
