Chapter 4

At Robinsons Family mansion.

As Nathan came down from his car, he happened to run into Jane William. When he saw her, his expressionless face immediately darkened with disdain.

Jane as usual put up a smile and called out to him affectionately, “brother Nathan, you are here too. Grandpa invited me over for dinner , since we are all here let’s go in quickly and not keep grandpa waiting,” after speaking she tried to hold Nathan’s hand.

Nathan took a step backward to avoid her touch, and said coldly, “i don’t like strangers touching me,” after saying that he walked past her.

Jane stomped her feet in anger and gritted her teeth, he didn’t only avoid my touch, but also called me a stranger, how am I a stranger? I have always been with him since childhood till now, how can he not notice me? How can he not love me? I have done everything for him to accept me yet he keeps on rejecting me? Am I not beautiful enough? Jane asked herself all this questions without getting an answer.

Jane as a pampered princess who has not been humiliated by anyone before, nor has any man rejected her advances, was very angry. Nathan not only humiliated her but also rejected her. How can she accept this. She was fuming but didn’t know how to let it out, after all in the present of Nathan and grandpa Robinson, she had to maintain the image of a well behaved girl in other to achieve her goal.

Suppressing her emotions, she followed Nathan inside.

As soon as grandpa Robinson saw Jane his face lit up with joy, and he called out to her softly. “Our Jane is here.”

Jane smiled as she gently walked up to grandpa, Her tone playful, “grandpa, how are you doing? How is your health?”

Grandpa is fine and my health is good, except for this rascal, who wants me to die of anger. Grandpa Robinson answered glancing over at his grandson Nathan.

“Grandpa, you should always take care of your health and always drink enough water,” Jane said

“Our Jane is so thoughtful and grandpa will listen to Jane.

By the way , Jane, this one you two came home together it seems that you two are finally getting along well ?” Mr Robinson couldn’t help but asked.

He had been worried that they might never get along but seeing them together made his tense mind ease a bit. He believes that if they could get along they will definitely fall In love with each other in the future .

At this point Nathan who has been silent for a while now, quickly denied . “No! I just happened to run into miss William downstairs.” He used the term “ms. William” clearly showing his distance.

The moment turned awkward immediately,

“Master the dishes had been served.” just then the butler’s voice rang out, disrupting the awkwardness.

At the dining table.

“Jane you should eat more, you are so skinny,” Mr Robinson advised as he put more food on Jane’s bowl

“All these are your favorite, I specifically asked the chef to prepare them for you,” Mr Robinson said.

“Thank you grandpa you’re so good to me.”

“Silly girl, what are you thanking me for? This is your home , if anyone tries to bully you, make sure to tell grandpa, and grandpa will surely avenge you, no matter who bullies you, even if it’s Nathan.”

If anyone does not know better, they will think that Jane is his granddaughter while Nathan is his grandson in-law.

Despite how Mr Robinson scold Nathan, he cares deeply for him, after all Nathan is the child he raised himself.

“grandpa don’t worry, no one will bully me and if the tries I will let grandpa know,” Jane replied.

“This food is so delicious,” she added.

“If you like it then you should come over for dinner more often,” grandpa advised.

“I don’t want to bother grandpa, but since grandpa invited me I won’t be polite.” Jane said with a smile her eyes fixed on Nathan, as if to say “did you hear that?

“How can that be considered as bothering me, you’re Nathan’s fiancée, and the daughter in-law I’ve chosen. So treat this place like your home from now on, whenever you are in trouble the Robinson family will protect you,” Mr Robinson said sincerely.

Mr Robinson has always loved and treated Jane as his granddaughter since she was a child, so when Michael Robinson , His son brought up this arranged marriage between Nathan and Jane , he quickly agreed . Having known Jane since she was younger, Mr Robinson thought that she was the perfect candidate to become Mrs Robinson and Nathan’s wife.

At the mention of becoming Nathan’s wife, Jane’s eye lit up.she couldn’t help but wonder what it will look like walking down the aisle with a perfect man like Nathan .

Who is Nathan?

He is the world richest man! A man who could influence economic development!

A man who is like a god! The hottest man who is every woman dream lover!

The man standing at the top of the world!

Every woman wants to climb Nathan’s bed but none has ever succeeded and she is not an exception .

Jane was glad her father paved way for her, now she can become Mrs Robinson. Thinking of how her fellow women will be looking at her with an eye full of envy, her mood lifted up.

“I will listen to grandpa”, she answered calmly.

They continued chatting.

Although Jane was chatting with Mr Robinson, her eyes were fixed on Nathan who ate his food in silence without joining the conversation.

Jane had been in love with Nathan since childhood and had done everything possible to get Nathan’s attention, but all to no avail .Nathan treats everyone coldly and she is not an exception.

She will not give up, she has to marry Nathan or no one will.. she assured herself.

Today she dressed so seductively, that no man could resist her. But Nathan was not just any man, being a business prodigy since he was 16, he had seen more beautiful women with great figure, yet he had been single for years which proved that he can’t be swayed by just look

Some people even gossip that he is a gay, but all those things are rumors.

Could it be that Nathan has someone he loves? But over the years , I haven’t seen him with any woman., nor had he publicly acknowledged being in a relationship. Maybe he has someone in his mind but they are not together, Jane thought.

Even though thinking about this makes her uncomfortable, she knows that Mr Robinson will not approve of Nathan and his lover being together. She will soon become Nathan’s wife, he can only think about the other woman in his mind.

Little did Jane know that her assumptions were true and that Nathan had someone he love, and the woman is no other, than her cousin sister Stephanie.
