CHAPTER THREE.

Betrayed by Blood

Katherine's POV

I thought I wasn’t hearing so well, I repeated after her “I will get over it? You knew all along” I asked her to be sure of what exactly was happening.

I was looking like a stranger in the house I thought I was brought up in.

Dad was just a little bit far from us, observing what was happening, but he didn’t speak a word, and I was sure he heard everything we were saying.

On a normal ground, he would have interrupted and asked Mom to stop the habit and I would have been the one to be grateful.

But now he wasn’t attempting to say anything, and everything I was trying to say in my brain now looked like a tongue twister.” How dare Diana date the man I am dating, to the point of having sex with him? Has she no shame?”

Immediately, as I said those words, I knew something was wrong with me already. I wanted to be consoled and somehow should just bring my man back to me, and I told him, “It’s okay, I have forgiven you.”

I looked in Dad’s direction it was that exact time he knew he wanted to clean his face with a handkerchief.

At this point, I knew the answer already and the matter was already out of my control. I looked everywhere, but there was no one, and nowhere I could run to.

Mom rolled her eyes as she headed towards the cup on the table beside Dad, bringing me a cup of hot tea.

I looked at her annoyingly, and I said to her face, “I hate you, and I don't think you deserve to be my mom, none of you in this house deserve to be my family!”

There was no response from any angle.

I began to have cold feet, and I couldn't move myself, muscle cramps held me bound, and that reminded me of another moment of myself and Felix.

The last time I had muscle cramps was in Felix's house, and he helped me get over it by applying a lot of pressure on the surface.

Dad saw how I was leaping, and he finally spoke a word, “Take it easy, you won't die, you survived death when you were young, you will survive this now.”

It seems they have been aware of the incident for a long time and I was the only one in the dark the whole time.

I could not control my tears anymore until I voiced out, “Dad, even you? You knew about this as well.” he did not say another word to me, as if he didn't hear me speak.

I could not hold everything that was happening so I had to leave the house immediately.

Mom was calling while I was in a hurry to leave, “Katherine, come back, let's settle this, there is an alternative for you.”

I was waking as fast as I could until I heard from Dad, “Let her be, she will get over it with time.”

I knew it was finally over for the trust I hinfor the family and there was no going back to intimacy to be with them.

It was at this moment that I felt so foolish for listening to Felix's advances, and I started creating a sense of hatred towards him.

I held out of the house, but I didn't even know where to go because I had no alternative places now. The so-called places are now a strange abode to me.

It was becoming dark already, and there was no space in the street for the good girl, else she would be maltreated before daybreak.

I used a large amount of the money with me for the first Uber I saw just to leave here and go wherever I could.

Now I know that no one wants to hear me out and no one cares, both at work, the love of my life, and at home.

I was dropped off nowhere after the cab man was tired, he wanted to go home, and here I was, having nowhere on my mind.

I was walking along and on, but to no destination whatsoever, and finally I saw a place set to be beaming light.

I think my life is in darkness already and I need a touch of light to make it up to myself

I took a deep breath, and I finally entered the timing light location, which happens to be a street club.

Even though I’ve never been to one before, Diana is a full-time clubber and she has taught me a lot about the settings of the club and all.

There was a time she sneaked out of the house to the club and came back to tell me, “If you are a newbie to the street, don't let them know you are new, vibe with those who are there.”

I grabbed that statement in me, and I haven't forgotten it till now.

This happens to be the code we will be using here, even if it's coming from the enemy who was once my step-sister.

It amazes me why and how my mind has disowned her so much as my stepsister, and I now see her as a stranger who is ready to steal, kill, and destroy, in quote “the devil”.

I entered the biking club like a Gangster who knows the code of everything that is happening, but at the same time, the noise was seriously disturbing my ears, as I don't like unnecessary noise, but right now I think I would adapt.

I went straight to the bar attendant and asked for shots from her. I demanded a mighty monkey tail with a mixture of several cocktails.

She was surprised but I didn't look at her face. I behaved as someone who has been to clubs several times.

She asked how many shots I wanted and I asked for ten.

She looked at me and I made a face back at her to give me what I asked for.

In a few minutes, she pushed a tray gently filled with tiny cups of shots, and as I was about to start my journey.

A hand slipped the cup away from my mouth, saying,, “Young lady, don’t you think that is getting too much?”

As I opened my phone, I saw a message from my mom’s second line: “Hey Diana, your father and I are waitin

I've been waiting for this opportunity for three weeksThe cab I took parked in front of his house, and I got out in a hurry to see him.
