Gabrielle’s Pov~~

The cold morning air bit my skin as I walked towards my car. Unlocking it, I hopped in holding the steering wheel. The city was quiet, but my thoughts weren't. As I closed my eyes, the memory of last night flashed in.

Aiden's scent still clung to every part of my body, to my hair, even inside my thoughts. I tried shaking the thought away, but I couldn't. It kept teasing me, reminding me of every one of his touches, every sound.

“How could I be so foolish as to sleep with my enemy’s uncle…”

Taking a deep breath, I started the engine and drove off at full speed to the mansion. Right now, I am not myself so I can't go to work. As I drove along the road, my subconscious spoke.

“Aren't you the same as Ethan? You aren't divorced yet, and you already had a one-night stand with his uncle.”

“Keep quiet,” I yelled, shaking the thought off.

Minutes later, I got to the mansion. I unlocked the door and leaned against it, shutting my eyes.

“Gabriella, you don't need to feel guilty. This is the way to get your revenge. You need to make Aiden your pawn to play the game cool.”

I muttered, pulling myself together, and settling down on the sofa. I removed my heels, inhaled deeply, and exhaled.

After a while, I went upstairs to my room. Pulling off my dress, I wrapped a towel around my body and walked to the bathroom, where I turned on the shower, letting the cold water flow over my skin. Shutting my eyes, my mind drifted to last night's event, his touch, his voice; they played in my head like a memory on repeat.

When I finally emerged from the washroom, I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection. A smirk crept onto my lips as I stood there.

“The pawn might be difficult, but once I discover his soft spot, I can turn the whole thing in my favor.”

Just then, my phone suddenly rang, and the screen lit up with an unknown number. I hesitated before picking up, then I heard a familiar voice—it was Aiden.

“Ella, we need to talk,” he said, his voice commanding.

Hearing his voice, I hung up instantly and smiled to myself, my finger twitched, a silent promise that I would play my game to the end. His call came in again, and I hung it up.

I placed my phone on the bed and began dressing up when my phone buzzed, I glanced at the screen. This time it wasn't Aiden but the so-called ex-husband to be.

I ignored his message and continued to dress, when my phone rang, Ethan's name lit up on the screen. With a frown, I reached for the phone.

“What is it? You keep calling like you still own me.” I said, my voice icy and sharp. “I hope you called to let me know you have signed the divorce papers.”

Ethan's voice came back, sharp and furious.

"Shameless, Gabriella! Do you behave like this? This is a small issue—why are you blowing it up more than it is?”

I tilted my head, let his anger flow over me like water.

"A small issue?" I repeated, my voice cold. "You cheated on me. You lied to me. And now you think you can lecture me?"

“Come on, Ella! Don’t act like I’m the villain here!” he shouted, frustration dripping from every word.

I smiled faintly, letting the silence hang just long enough to drive him mad.

"Villain? No, Ethan… I'm just the woman you underestimated." I said, my voice firm. “When you sign the divorce papers, let me know.”

With that, I hung up. My finger tapped lightly against the phone, a silent reminder to myself; he would regret everything he did to me once he signed the divorce papers.

I placed my phone down, turning my attention back to Aiden. The game had just begun and this time, I was fully in control. Before Aiden could make use of me, I would outsmart him first.

Two days later, I am having a meeting with a client in the VIP section. After I was done dressing, I stood in front of the mirror glancing at my reflection before heading out of the room.

Outside, I quickly got in the car and started the engine, driving speedily to the restaurant. By the time I got to the restaurant, I headed straight in expecting to meet my client because I was one minute late but unfortunately, he wasn't there.

I sat at the table waiting patiently for the client, and when the door finally opened, I turned back, thinking it was my client, but it turned out to be Aiden. I walked towards him to confront him.

“What are you doing? Wait… Are you stalking me now?” I questioned, my voice Icy, daring him to answer.

“I was just passing by,” he finally muttered, his voice smooth.

I let out a low laugh, cold. “Passing by? Funny how you always seem to be exactly where I am. Should I be flattered, or worried?”

He kept silent, looking at me, and I smiled faintly, knowing I had the upper hand.

Suddenly, a cocky smile curled up on his face. “I’m not stalking you, Gabriella. But if you think so, then I am,” he asserted, staring at me.

“Is that so?” I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

“I can see you are avoiding me because of the event that happened. But the sex wasn't a big deal,” he said, teasing, like he knew exactly how to push my buttons. “I don't care if you are still married to my brother or not. And I am not going to forget about the sex moment.”

"Aiden," I called, scoffing.

"I need your presence tomorrow night. I'll be expecting you. I'll send you the details."

"And if I don't want to come?" I asked, my voice etched with cockiness.

He came closer, with one inch apart. He leaned forward and I closed my eyes immediately.

Nothing happened

I slowly opened my eyes to see him smirking.

"You wanted a kiss. So I don't think you won't reject my request."

"Well, I decline politely, Mr Aiden," I muttered, smirking back at him as we locked eyes.

The door suddenly burst open, and my client came in. I scoffed at Aiden before walking away to meet my client.

Gabrielle’s POV"You...what are you doing here?" I asked, my voice a bit slurred due to the drinks. He began walking towards me, and I raised my head to stare at him. For the first time since I met him, he was dressed casually in jeans and a white Henley shirt that still showed his bulging muscles. His hair was stylishly ruffled to give him a sexy out-of-bed look. I couldn't help swallowing a little. His face was hard and a cold glint showed in his eyes."What were you thinking?" He growled low in his throat. I should be scared, but stranger, I wasn't."What do you mean?""Here. What are you doing in a place like this?"I sighed as I shifted my face away from him, it's not like something was wrong with this place, was there?"Nothing. I just wanted to have some fun...is there anything wrong with that?"His eyebrows furrowed, his lips pressed in a grim line, as if trying to suppress his emotions but his stormy eyes betrayed him."Not if you're dressed like that and in this state."I l

Gabrielle’s POV“But why not?” I asked, my eyes fixed firmly on his face, searching for an answer, yet also daring him to give me one.Aiden leaned forward slightly, his sharp gaze locking with mine. His presence was magnetic, and I could feel the tension hanging in the air between us.“Give me a reason to have lunch with you,” he said, his tone deep and controlled, while his eyebrows rose with a teasing challenge.I felt a small smirk tug at the corner of my lips. He wanted me to give him a reason? As if I was desperate to beg for his attention. I straightened up and flipped my hair backward in a slow, deliberate motion, letting him see that I wasn’t going to play his little game.“It’s fine,” I muttered with a light shrug, turning on my heels.I took a step toward the door, determined not to give him the satisfaction of seeing any disappointment on my face. But just as I was about to leave, his voice echoed behind me.“I’ll go with you.”I stopped in my tracks, my heart betraying me

Gabrielle's POV And with that, I stormed out of the event hall, my heels clicking loudly on the marble floor as if they, too, were expressing my fury. I didn’t care who saw me or what they thought. My heart was pounding in my chest like it was trying to escape, and I could feel the heat rising in my neck, my teeth chattering. I was angry, deeply hurt, and worst of all, I felt like a fool. I felt betrayed, disappointed, humiliated, and completely used. How could I have been so blind? How could I not have seen the signs? Aiden. That name rang in my ears like a haunting echo. Aiden. The man I had almost trusted, not knowing he was playing a game. A dirty, calculated, heartless game. What made it worse, what truly made me sick to my stomach, was that I had heard about Aiden for years. Ethan never stopped talking about him. He constantly brought him up in conversation. "My uncle is a perfectionist," he would say. "My uncle is so cold, but he always gets the job done."

“Baby.” I heard that tiny voice from behind and even through the noise inside the extravagant gala, I could still recognise the voice. Freda, my betrothal. “Baby, you have been scanning the room, are you expecting someone I don't know of?” She questioned, her voice laced with curiosity and I slowly lifted her hands away from my waist.“Freda, this isn't a couple's reunion or something. I have warned you. Stay clear away from being touchy. Don't let me get you to be the center of attention.” I warned, my eyes assessing her black revealing corset gown. Freda is a very pretty woman, beautiful long legs that fit her body so well. She can be identified as the ‘perfection’, her hair always braided in a bridal style, her lips glossy at every time and her hazel eyes always assessing and yawning for love but honestly, I do not want all of that.I wanted a life free from women and she was blocking that. I think she deserves better. Yes, she does. She sighed and nodded her head, although I cou
