MasukGabrielle’s Pov~~
After the meeting with the client, I left the restaurant and headed to the company when my phone rang. I reached for my purse and took out my phone. Arielle's name appeared on the screen, so I answered the call. “Hey whatsup,” I said walking towards my car. “You are not the company. Where are you? I'm waiting for you, there's an issue.” she said, her voice getting tensed. “I stepped out. I went for a meeting with one of my biggest clients. I'm on my way now,” I said, placing my bag in the car before getting in. “Alright I'll be waiting,” she said. With that I hung up, I drove out of the restaurant. Not quite long after, I got to the company. I parked my car and stepped out, adjusting my sunglasses before walking inside. The employees greeted me as I made my way to the elevator but I wasn't in the mood to respond to their greeting so I ignored them. I had bigger things on my mind I stepped into the elevator and the door closed, I caught my reflection in the mirror wall. It was calm and composed but my makeup needed a touch. After a minute, the elevator chimed softly before the door slid open to the third floor. I stepped out, the sound of my heel echoed on the ground. I ignored the greeting, making my way to my office. I pushed the glass door to my office and walked straight to my desk. Just as I pulled off my jacket, the door swung up and Lora came in holding a cup of freshly brewed coffee, the faint scent of it lingered in the air. “Good morning, ma'am.” she greeted, placing the coffee on my table. "Morning to you too," I muttered, striding towards my desks. "Arielle." Lora places two cups of brewed coffee on the table and left, excusing us. I left my desk and went over to the sofa. "How was your meeting?" Arielle asked, and my mind drifted to Aiden, almost immediately I let out a loud sigh. "Don't tell me you're thinking about Ethan?" Arielle asked further and I snickered. "Hell no! He will be the last thing I'll ever think of on earth," I responded, in defense, scoffing. “Okay? How is it? Did he sign the divorce?” she asked and I shook my head. “The idiot refuses to sign the divorce papers. I don't know what is going on in his mind?” I said with a frown. My jaw clenched just thinking about him. “Hey, calm down,” she said, and I nodded. “Leave that aside. What’s the crisis” I asked, changing the subject. “The deal with Mr X that I told you about didn't go smoothly. I don't know what to do right now,” She responded and my lips twitched. "Better deal with come forth soon. Maybe I should pass a project to you," I asserted and a big smile curled up on her face. "Thank you so much, Gabrielle. But what should I do, that's not all the crisis," She said. We discussed about we can handled the other crisis. And after few minutes, we wrapped the discussion on the crisis she had. “I will take my leave now. I’ve some work to do.” she stated, rising to her feet. A thought crossed my word and I made her halt. As she was heading towards the door, I called her name, and she turned to me. “Huh, Gabriella. Do you have something to say?” she asked, her eyes fixed on me. “Can I speak with you about something for a minute?” I asked, my voice lower than usual, betraying the tension I was trying to hide. She nodded, walking back to my desk then settled on the chair in front of me. “Do you still remember Aiden Voss?” I asked, and she nodded. “What happened?” Her gaze narrowed curiously. I stared at her for minutes before I began to narrate what had transpired between us. “The last time we hung out, I ended up in his bed.” “What?” she exclaimed, her eyes widened in shock. “And now I am avoiding him.” I said, twitching my finger. “I felt I am just like Ethan… I’m not divorce yet and now I had a one night stand with his uncle." “No, you're different from Ethan. He's a chronic cheater but you're not so don't compare yourself to someone like him," She explained, and I sighed. "I don't think it will be a bad affair if you have an affair with his uncle, that would hurt Ethan's ego. Why don't you make him regret for cheating on you. It won't be bad if you make Aiden pay for his brother's son," Arielle added, shrugging. "He invited me to attend a VIP event. I don't know if I should attend it. I can't face him after that incident," I expressed, my eyes down as I fiddled with my fingers. "Attend the event, Gabriella. Dress hot, sexy and seduce him," Arielle muttered. I chuckled. "I'll see what I can do about that. Don't let me stop you from doing your work," I said. "Remember, you're different from Ethan. He's an addicted cheater and you're not so don't compare yourself to him again. Never do such." With that she left my office with a smile, waving at me. I pondered over her words throughout that day as I worked. The next day I came to work and find myself looking forward for the outing with him. Aiden called but I didn't pick his calls. He sent messages and I read it without responding to it. I find it amusing and fun as he kept spamming me with calls and messages in the afternoon. I can bet he's waiting for my response. I think I'm loving this. At night, I dressed up for the event. I went to the address he had sent to me. The events for VIP businessmen. I walked inside the hall. A waiter came, passing a glass of champagne to me and I collected it politely with a smile. I glanced around hoping to see Aiden. I was still searching for him with my eyes when I heard a familiar voice. "Gabriella?" I turned around to see Ethan staring at me with his jaw dropped, his mistress smirking at me. My eyes widened in suprised. Does Aiden know that Ethan will be here. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "I should be the one asking you that...ah, I know what you did.... You don't think I won't know about it?" He scoffed at me My heart tightened as I staggered backward. This is not how I want my affair to be known to him. Gabrielle’s Pov~~The cold morning air bit my skin as I walked towards my car. Unlocking it, I hopped in holding the steering wheel. The city was quiet, but my thoughts weren't. As I closed my eyes, the memory of last night flashed in.Aiden's scent still clung to every part of my body, to my hair, even inside my thoughts. I tried shaking the thought away, but I couldn't. It kept teasing me, reminding me of every one of his touches, every sound.“How could I be so foolish as to sleep with my enemy’s uncle…” Taking a deep breath, I started the engine and drove off at full speed to the mansion. Right now, I am not myself so I can't go to work. As I drove along the road, my subconscious spoke.“Aren't you the same as Ethan? You aren't divorced yet, and you already had a one-night stand with his uncle.” “Keep quiet,” I yelled, shaking the thought off.Minutes later, I got to the mansion. I unlocked the door and leaned against it, shutting my eyes.“Gabriella, you don't need to feel guil
Gabrielle’s POV"You...what are you doing here?" I asked, my voice a bit slurred due to the drinks. He began walking towards me, and I raised my head to stare at him. For the first time since I met him, he was dressed casually in jeans and a white Henley shirt that still showed his bulging muscles. His hair was stylishly ruffled to give him a sexy out-of-bed look. I couldn't help swallowing a little. His face was hard and a cold glint showed in his eyes."What were you thinking?" He growled low in his throat. I should be scared, but stranger, I wasn't."What do you mean?""Here. What are you doing in a place like this?"I sighed as I shifted my face away from him, it's not like something was wrong with this place, was there?"Nothing. I just wanted to have some fun...is there anything wrong with that?"His eyebrows furrowed, his lips pressed in a grim line, as if trying to suppress his emotions but his stormy eyes betrayed him."Not if you're dressed like that and in this state."I l
Gabrielle’s POV“But why not?” I asked, my eyes fixed firmly on his face, searching for an answer, yet also daring him to give me one.Aiden leaned forward slightly, his sharp gaze locking with mine. His presence was magnetic, and I could feel the tension hanging in the air between us.“Give me a reason to have lunch with you,” he said, his tone deep and controlled, while his eyebrows rose with a teasing challenge.I felt a small smirk tug at the corner of my lips. He wanted me to give him a reason? As if I was desperate to beg for his attention. I straightened up and flipped my hair backward in a slow, deliberate motion, letting him see that I wasn’t going to play his little game.“It’s fine,” I muttered with a light shrug, turning on my heels.I took a step toward the door, determined not to give him the satisfaction of seeing any disappointment on my face. But just as I was about to leave, his voice echoed behind me.“I’ll go with you.”I stopped in my tracks, my heart betraying me
Gabrielle's POV And with that, I stormed out of the event hall, my heels clicking loudly on the marble floor as if they, too, were expressing my fury. I didn’t care who saw me or what they thought. My heart was pounding in my chest like it was trying to escape, and I could feel the heat rising in my neck, my teeth chattering. I was angry, deeply hurt, and worst of all, I felt like a fool. I felt betrayed, disappointed, humiliated, and completely used. How could I have been so blind? How could I not have seen the signs? Aiden. That name rang in my ears like a haunting echo. Aiden. The man I had almost trusted, not knowing he was playing a game. A dirty, calculated, heartless game. What made it worse, what truly made me sick to my stomach, was that I had heard about Aiden for years. Ethan never stopped talking about him. He constantly brought him up in conversation. "My uncle is a perfectionist," he would say. "My uncle is so cold, but he always gets the job done."
“Baby.” I heard that tiny voice from behind and even through the noise inside the extravagant gala, I could still recognise the voice. Freda, my betrothal. “Baby, you have been scanning the room, are you expecting someone I don't know of?” She questioned, her voice laced with curiosity and I slowly lifted her hands away from my waist.“Freda, this isn't a couple's reunion or something. I have warned you. Stay clear away from being touchy. Don't let me get you to be the center of attention.” I warned, my eyes assessing her black revealing corset gown. Freda is a very pretty woman, beautiful long legs that fit her body so well. She can be identified as the ‘perfection’, her hair always braided in a bridal style, her lips glossy at every time and her hazel eyes always assessing and yawning for love but honestly, I do not want all of that.I wanted a life free from women and she was blocking that. I think she deserves better. Yes, she does. She sighed and nodded her head, although I cou
