SHERRY'S POV

They were fast, faster than I thought. I had barely slept, refreshing one gossip site after another, only to find the headlines about Chloe vanishing like smoke.

Richard must’ve worked his usual magic, silencing every voice that dared speak against his saintly wife. This was the way of the rich, so predictable!

I scoffed, irritated already. Money and power — what a predictable pair.

But I wasn’t discouraged, why should I be when that story was never meant to destroy her? It was just the first slap.

I needed Richard to be shaken, not broken. He'll eventually but not yet. He had to begin questioning, doubting, and wondering if the woman he married was really who she claimed to be.
