Six

It's been an hour since she met Nat, laying on his chest, he has refused to let her go for a second and while she was edgy about the whole PDA, she understands this is what she was hired for, if it meant that Nat would be fine she's more than ready to do this. The recorded videos of Nat and Amanda that were saved on Nat's phone helped her study the way they connected as a couple, the special names, the touching, and the looks. The videos made Sandy teary at some point because their videos were a testament to how much they were inlove.

"pumpum, are you okay, are you good?" Nat was wrapping his arms around her neck while kissing her head.

"I'm good baby, just glad to be here."

"you know pum, I told them you aren't dead, I told them! I told Adam but he didn't believe me, I knew you wouldn't leave me after all that we promised to do together, your tours, my art gallery, and the two kids we were going to adopt. I love you pumpum."

The words coming out of nat mouth got sandy teary, she felt sorry and sad for Nat, and at that moment she promised herself to do anything to get him better and healed.

"I miss you too." Sandy turned and faced Nat with her chest now on his, she stretched up, kissed him on the head, and went back to her previous position. To utter back to him the three-letter words felt like a fraud, she couldn't do that.

"But baby, I was told you haven't been a good boy,"

"What did they tell you I did?" Nat questioned jokingly. His eyes filled with playful smiles.

"that you haven't been taking your drugs or eating. Ba-by, you know you need to listen to the doctors if you want us fully back together on the road,"

Sandy moved from Nathaniel's body to a sitting position to face him, she wanted him to see how serious she was.

"I know pum, but they were going to drug me so I could start believing them that you were dead, if I had allowed them to do that I wouldn't be able to see you when you came." suddenly, he stood up standing on the bed, he pulled sandy up holding her hand, he started jumping like a little happy child. Sandy followed his cue and was jumping with him.

while jumping he shouted, "But you're here now Amanda, I'll do everything you want me to."

With a lot of adrenaline rushing Sandy couldn't talk but nodded happily in reply.

"it's okay babe." she lay her back on the bed and Nathaniel did the same.

Sandy had noticed Nat was overly active since the minute he saw her, his attention that she was told was always directed to space has now been directed to her. While she is happy about him recovering immediately at her sight, she's worried he might be too much for her to handle.

The knock at the door jolted her from her thought.

"come in."

A man in his mid-forties with round glasses on and a smile on his face walked in.

"Hello, I'm Doctor Fran, Nat's doctor." he extended his hand to Sandy for a handshake as he introduced himself.

"nice to meet you, doctor." Sandy shakes his hand swiftly.

"Nat, you seem happy today, I'm hoping this new happiness will make our talk less difficult today."

Nat who had sat on the bed with his legs crossed on the bed, looked at the doctor with a serious and unwelcoming glare. He nodded, and rushed to Sandy, pulling her closer to him, like the doctor was a threat to their privacy.

The doctor who understood smiled and looked at Sandy.

"Can you talk to him to ease down with me, I'm sure your word is the only truth right now."

The doctor asked with a smile that had been on his face since he saw Sandy, while sandy understood that the man was just happy about her helping Nathaniel, the fixed smile creeps her out a little.

"Okay." Sandy swerved to Nathaniel who still maintained his glare towards the doctor and held her hands firmly.

"babe, you remember what we talked about, the road trips," Nathaniel turned to her, looking at her studiously, he nodded.

"Okay, this good man here, is going to help us, and the only way he can do that is by listening and allowing him to be your friend Nat."

"no! He's a bad man, he's not my friend, he told me to forget about you." Nathaniel was holding Sandy's two hands while shouting and looking at the doctor who for some annoying reason still managed to maintain a smiling face.

Sandy, frustrated and determined hugged Nathaniel for a minute and returned to convincing him. She spoke softly and calmly.

"pumpum, this good man and everybody in the house was testing you, they wanted to know if you truly love me to not give up on me, and you didn't! You didn't love me, that is why I'm here with you now."

"I didn't! I didn't!" Nathaniel uttered in a rhythmic tone. "I told him, " pointing at the doctor "and Adam you would come back to, I told them. " he hugged Sandy.

"yes pumpum, and now, we need to do everything they want us to do so we can be on the road with your bike. " Sandy smiled reassuringly.

"Okay, he's our friend and Adam is my brother, I'll listen to them, I'll do anything for you pum. "

"yes, babe."

The next minutes were filled with questions from the doctor to Nathaniel, which he answered to his best ability always looking at Sandy for approval. He was fed by Sandy, his first full meal in two weeks. Afterwards, drugs and injections were given to him which made him sleep off holding Sandy's hand as he slept off.

The doctor called Sandy out and thanked her for following through with it.

"It's nothing doc, I'm more than happy to be helpful, you and his brother did the most."

"Nathaniel is a good kid and have known him since he was a child, he's family. You don't know what you've done for him and his brother."

Sandy smiled, understanding the reason the doctor was happy that much. He sees Nat as a family rather than a patient.

"he'll be fine in no time, the goal is to get him to his full mental capacity, and with this great change in a day of seeing you I'm certain in a month or less, he will be back to his old Nathaniel."

Sandy had been thinking about what impact it would have on Nathaniel when he found out he wasn't Amanda.

"I want to ask doctor, don't you think the truth about who I am, would make things worse?"

The doctor smirked and replied. "of course it would, but not as dangerous as this, what caused this much damage to him was the experience, he heard everything that happened that day, and the shock triggered this, yes he might be angry and all, I promise you if no one tell him anything in his recovering state till he is capable of it mentally, he will be fine."

Happy and contented, Sandy smiled as the doctor exited.

She just needs to do everything she can to make sure Nathaniel gets better.
