CHAPTER 23

Kael's POV.

I sniffed the air.

Something was wrong.

I trailed towards the border. Somebody had been messing with the patrol that I had set up. Somebody had also been making sure that there was no way their traces were going to be wiped off.

Harrison was yet to be back and that told me everything that I needed to know. If he wasn't running back to me that meant that those girls had escaped!

Shit!

The one who had bleached her hair looked very familiar but I couldn't just place my fingers on where exactly I had met her

If only somebody could give me an idea it would be easier for me to find your reverse. She must have been hiding but here it was very hard for me to do that without blowing my cover that I didn't want to get married to the woman who believed she was the love of my life.

I took a deep breath and headed back into the woods. This was where my father and I had always played and cut up with rogue scents before he was killed.

If there was a wrong infestation that meant that I was not looking hard enough and I wanted to correct that before it was too late.

The other thing that I needed to do was to make sure that I got that girl under my custody and never allowed her to leave.

"Alpha!" One of my warriors yelled from behind making hiss. If anyone was hiding in the woods now they would know that I was onto their trail and we would try to escape!

How stupid can a warrior be not to send Morse codes?

I picked up my sword. This was the right time for me to strike whoever was coming.

A swift turn and I grabbed the arm of a man trying to touch me!

Aha! I knew that it was a trap.

My sword drove into his ribs eliciting a sharp cry.

"Who the freaking hell sent you here? Did you think you were going to get away with it freely?" I grinned, before flinging the small dagger in my hand behind me just to capture another cry.

They must have been stupid to think that they would be able to come in and out without me figuring that something was wrong.

It turned into a brutal fight instantly. I had almost been prepared for this day to fight the rogues which I suspected were in charge of killing my father and now wanted to retaliate after I had razed them to the ground.

I drove the sword deeper into the rogue's rib, waiting for a mistake that was going to tell me where he had come from.

None of them worked based on their own order. They always had a leader who thought that he was greater than all the werewolves combined and had that stupid mindset of leeching from us.

Blood spluttered out of his mouth but I kept holding his jaw. He was going to tell me who sent him around her before he died.

I didn't care if it was going to take a longer time but he was going to produce the answers and by the time I was done with him he would regret ever walking the surface of the Earth.

I hoisted him in midair, before kicking him away.

"Alpha strength, why don't you flex it over things that are more important than this?" A cool voice call from behind me.

It was at 8'O clock. Bunch of cowards hiding behind trees to be able to speak to me.

I already knew how this worked but I was not going to allow myself to become a victim of it.

"Tell that to somebody else. Tell that to people who care to listen." I answered.

Every nerve ending in my body was at alert, leaving no room for mistakes. I knew that I was surrounded by rogues.

They were here for a mission and as soon as they accomplished it I was going to be dead meat. It didn't help that I didn't have any sufficient backup but I had always been the one in the forefront of trouble and I had never shied away from it.

"Show your face if you are that desperate to speak to me or else forever keep your peace!

You cannot really do many things with us being around and I'm sure you know that. The only thing that I need you to do right now is to keep your hide. We don't want any trouble. We just want an agreement from you." The rogue called.

He was probably the second in command because he didn't have the authority that their leaders always did but that didn't mean that he was even less dangerous

Most of them always roast to become the leaders of their evil factions.

"Tell that to people who truly care about whatever you want. I'm sure that by now you already know the truth that I don't care about you or any of your requests. So what are you going to do about that?" I asked.

I wasn't going to pretend that everything was fine when it wasn't because it was just nothing but a blatant lie and I hated it.

I wanted to paint the ground with their blood. All other things to come much later and that would not even affect me one bit.

"Yeah, right. I know that you're itching to kill us. But maybe you are about to make a mistake because the enemy is even more within than we can be." He called again.

More spluttering and the rogue collapsed. I watched him disintegrate before my eyes.

An evidence that for a deal was more to this than met the eye.

"I'm sure you know what I want."

I refused to turn my back. From my experience the enemy wasn't even behind me just before me and they needed me to feel a sense of security before I was annihilated.

"Meet me halfway then."

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 67

Lyra’s POV. "I have been involved in a few fights in my life and I am not proud of everything that I have done but the only thing you can be rest assured of, is the fact that you would never be disappointed when it comes to me." Lucius told me.My eyes lingered on him, watching the once confident man look like he was trying so hard not to break down in my presence and I kind of understood it but at the same time, realized that he was fighting some battles that would never make any sense to me except he came out clean. "Of course you had to. How is that affecting you now?""Badly, a whole lot of people have different perception about me and as much as I would have loved for me to remain anonymous my past is finally catching up with me and I have to be at the center of it all making sure that everybody has a hand in this no matter what." He wasn't making any sense with his analogy and even though I wanted to believe him to some extent, I kind of felt like there was a little something

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 66

Kael's POV.My wolf led me to the plains, that was the only place that I could be able to get answers for what I was looking for and how long he was going to take for me to fathom a reasonable explanation and why she just disappeared. Selene must have been a bastard for thinking that you'll be able to make me convinced to do whatever she wanted and not what I truly wanted. How on Earth does she even think that it was possible? I had nothing to lose but she had everything and the entire world too. The father was not even as popular as he wanted to preserve his legacy and I was doing this simply because my pack members decided to go on a long journey to make sure that I was not doing anything against what was already in the works. I had nothing to lose nor gain, but now that Selene had spoken about it I was willing to abandon a few things to seek that girl out. She couldn't have been really far away or else I would have found her by now. I also didn't have anything to say apart fro

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 65

Lyra's POV.My first move was to comb the entire area making sure that I was able to drag the few things out."Don't you have a whole lot of things that you have to put into place before we start fighting against somebody that we know is going to prevail one way or the other?" It just didn't make sense to me no matter how much they were trying to go about it and paint it to be the real thing. I had already discovered a better way of handling the situation but none of this was sufficient enough for me. I had more ideas running through my mind and until they were done, I had nothing to fight for.One thing that was certain was the fact that I decided to go on with the entire trip. For Camille to think that everything was fine on my end and I was not under any pressure to give them a correct prediction or else lead them to their doom, she was just the same like everybody else. Most of them had concluded that I was overreacting about certain things that I did which was okay by me and

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 63

Kael's POV. I didn't have much to think of but I knew that something had been going on that I have was not very attentive to and I needed to change that immediately before it was so late for me to do that anymore I wasn't obsessing over Selene but she had made very valid points and I needed to check downtown just to see what was lurking behind this scenes As a spy myself I knew that whenever there was a lot of count it was going to birth something more than a whirlwind. I didn't have much to talk about but I was very sure that there was even something else going on that needed to help in releasing the pains. I had nothing more to look for besides the obvious answers that I had gotten over a long time. I didn't also have what it took to be able to switch things up but I was sure that at some point I would be able to see what was going on and deal with it. Firstly there was nothing else that I needed to do that was going to help out. All I needed right now was to make sure that I h

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 64

Lyra's POV. One of the most amazing things that I had ever done in my entire life had to be the fact that I have been able to understand the difference between the different timelines and how to navigate through it without losing my mind.I was only committed to one and that needed all the time in the world just to be able to sort many differences out."So... Are you a little bit worried by what this might bring and how longMy heart was pounding so hard that I almost felt it leaping out of my chest. My hands were tight but I had only one will.I needed to live, even if that was the last thing that I did. There was basically no option for me and I wasn't going to take chances. "If she gets away, we are doomed!" Somebody yelled from behind me. I was a little bit irritated by the way they were acting but I couldn't blame them either. It wasn't entirely there fault the way things were going, they had just been conditioned to think that Selene wielded the entire power. I also thought

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 62

Lyra's POV. I didn't think that there was going to be a change in the fact, "I didn't have the right to change the mandate but there wasn't anything more the other day." "Are you sure that there's something wrong with the issues at hand or is this something else that you need to tell me?" Camille headed towards me with the intention to get more information out of me but that was not going to happen. I had already figured out that there was going to be a little bit of a mix up here and there and I was waiting to see how long it was going to take and what exactly I had to do to sort out the entire problems. I had taken a deep breath yet refused to look straight into what she wanted me to do. I was thinking about how long it was going to take for me to be able to sort out a few things but here I was, dealing with more issues than none. "Is this really a thing or...?"I took a deep breath refusing to answer my question because it was harmful to my person and I would love to have the
