Author’s POV

A few weeks passed in the blink of an eye, but not for Selene. Every minute, every second she planned and prayed hoping that things would go her way.

Unable to wait for news, she stormed towards the hospital. The sound of her heels, clicked sharply against the white tiles, her shoulders were stiff, and her lips were pressed into a thin line.

The nurse barely announced her entrance before she was pushing against the wooden door, and into the doctor's office.

Wide eyed the doctor stood from behind his seat, dark patches of sweat staining his white coat, “Luna, you are here early—”

“Enough of the pleasantries, “she cut him off, slamming her purse down on his desk, “What’s going on? I've done two house tests and no results. Am I pregnant or not?”

He cleared his throat, nodding slightly, “Of course. I'm sure it's a minor mistake nothing a blood test wouldn't fix.”

“Then fix it.” She snapped her fingers, “Run the test, and if I find out that there's nothing in there. There's going to be hell to pay!”

The doctor blanched at her treatment, immediately calling for a nurse.

A few hours later the test results were brought in by a young nurse, before she could hand over the paper to the doctor, Selene snatched it away tearing through the seal.

“Luna this is—”

The doctor had barely started to argue when her face filled with rage, and with a flick of her fingers, the letter came smacking into his face.

“What the heck is this!” She seethed, eyes slit. “What the hell do those words mean.

The doctor frowned, picking up the piece of paper and scanned, his face frozen for a second longer.

“Luna I don't —”

“Yo7 don't what!” She slammed the table, “This says nothing is implanted!” she yelled. “Why? What don't you understand! Explain it all!”

He opened and closed his mouth nervously, flinching under her glare “Well—”

“You told me the potions would work.” She stepped closer, pinning him with a cold look, “ You told me everything was in place. I did my part, followed your instructions to the letter. So why isn’t there a baby in my womb? Why is there nothing growing in here?” she demanded, poking at her flat stomach.

He raised an arm, as if to calm her down but it only succeeded in enraging her further. Selene grabbed his coat, pulling him forward, “Did you betray me? Is that it? Did you give me the wrong potion thinking I was a fool?”

“Luna please—-if you would just let me explain, “The doctor stammered, struggling under her hold, “Alpha keals mark bond is still too weak, the period of rejection and your bond was too quick…your body couldn't–”

“So it's my fault?” She snapped shaking the older man, “I did everything you asked, followed every single request as stupid as it was, stopped my guilty pleasures. So why am I not carrying Kaels' heir?”

He lifted shaky hands. “M–maybe his wolf is resisting harder than—”

“Don't give me useless excuses!” She growled, pushing him away, “Are you telling me I did everything for nothing. That your potions were useless?”

“Of course not!” He insisted, offended at her words, “I would never—”

“Doctor, listen to me carefully, “ she cut him off, covering the distance between them, eyes burning, “if you think you can lie to me and walk away, you are very mistaken.”

“I am not lying.”

“You promised results.” Her voice lowered, filled with venom. “I will not be made a fool. Do you understand?”

“Luna Selene—”

“If you do not give me answers, satisfactory answers she hissed, “ then there is no point in you staying alive.” she threatened.

“Don't test me, doctor. I can easily expose you. Your dirty little tricks, your continuous bribery done under the table. Your fake potions and many more.” Her eyes narrowed, “Don't think that after I am done with you, you'll be able to get out of this alive.”

His face drained of color. “Please, No Luna —”

“Don't Luna me!” She roared, “, Tell me what I need to know or else I'll destroy you with everything that I have.”

She demanded. “Or I swear I will rip your pathetic life apart.”

“No please,” The doctor trembled falling to his knees, “There is one more solution ..a potion—”

“Another one of your dirty tricks.”

“No…it will work. Very effective the chances that you'll take in are a hundred percent.”

“Where is it?”

He scrambled to a drawer and pulled out a small vial of red liquid. “This one…it will weaken Alpha Kael’s resistance to the bond. Once his wolf stops fighting it… a fetus will take.”

She snatched the vial. “So what you gave me before was trash?”

“No! The others should have worked, but I overestimated his bond to ly—”

“Don't mention that sluts name to me!” She screamed.

The doctor nodded, promptly shutting up, “Of course Luna. My apologies Luna–”

“How long will it take?” she interrupted.

“If you use it in his food or drink, it should affect him within hours. Use it for as long as you see fit.”

“If this doesn’t work, doctor, I will come back and finish what I started today. Your reputation, name everything will burn into ashes and it will be all your fault.”

“Yes, yes,” He nodded wildly. “It will work. I promise. I stake my career on it.”

“Your career? It's your life that's on the line.” She sneered, “Don't let me return here with another failure story or else.”

He bowed his head. “Yes, Luna Selene. Of course.”

She snorted, dropping the vial in her bag, before walking out sharply. Her expression was a mix of disgust and satisfaction. Her mind drifted far away to a future where she carried Kaels' child in her womb, and Keal stared lovingly down at her.

“Soon,” she muttered with delight, walking out the door.

She did not notice the figure leaning against the far wall, watching with hooded eyes.

Lyra’s gaze followed Selene as she stormed down the hall and disappeared, she turned noting the direction the woman had just walked out from, and made her way towards it, lips pressed into a thin line.

The moment she stepped into the room, the doctor looked stricken, his eyes widened as his knees buckled.

“G.. ghost!”

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 67

Lyra’s POV. "I have been involved in a few fights in my life and I am not proud of everything that I have done but the only thing you can be rest assured of, is the fact that you would never be disappointed when it comes to me." Lucius told me.My eyes lingered on him, watching the once confident man look like he was trying so hard not to break down in my presence and I kind of understood it but at the same time, realized that he was fighting some battles that would never make any sense to me except he came out clean. "Of course you had to. How is that affecting you now?""Badly, a whole lot of people have different perception about me and as much as I would have loved for me to remain anonymous my past is finally catching up with me and I have to be at the center of it all making sure that everybody has a hand in this no matter what." He wasn't making any sense with his analogy and even though I wanted to believe him to some extent, I kind of felt like there was a little something

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 66

Kael's POV.My wolf led me to the plains, that was the only place that I could be able to get answers for what I was looking for and how long he was going to take for me to fathom a reasonable explanation and why she just disappeared. Selene must have been a bastard for thinking that you'll be able to make me convinced to do whatever she wanted and not what I truly wanted. How on Earth does she even think that it was possible? I had nothing to lose but she had everything and the entire world too. The father was not even as popular as he wanted to preserve his legacy and I was doing this simply because my pack members decided to go on a long journey to make sure that I was not doing anything against what was already in the works. I had nothing to lose nor gain, but now that Selene had spoken about it I was willing to abandon a few things to seek that girl out. She couldn't have been really far away or else I would have found her by now. I also didn't have anything to say apart fro

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 65

Lyra's POV.My first move was to comb the entire area making sure that I was able to drag the few things out."Don't you have a whole lot of things that you have to put into place before we start fighting against somebody that we know is going to prevail one way or the other?" It just didn't make sense to me no matter how much they were trying to go about it and paint it to be the real thing. I had already discovered a better way of handling the situation but none of this was sufficient enough for me. I had more ideas running through my mind and until they were done, I had nothing to fight for.One thing that was certain was the fact that I decided to go on with the entire trip. For Camille to think that everything was fine on my end and I was not under any pressure to give them a correct prediction or else lead them to their doom, she was just the same like everybody else. Most of them had concluded that I was overreacting about certain things that I did which was okay by me and

Kael's POV. I didn't have much to think of but I knew that something had been going on that I have was not very attentive to and I needed to change that immediately before it was so late for me to do that anymore I wasn't obsessing over Selene but she had made very valid points and I needed to check downtown just to see what was lurking behind this scenes As a spy myself I knew that whenever there was a lot of count it was going to birth something more than a whirlwind. I didn't have much to talk about but I was very sure that there was even something else going on that needed to help in releasing the pains. I had nothing more to look for besides the obvious answers that I had gotten over a long time. I didn't also have what it took to be able to switch things up but I was sure that at some point I would be able to see what was going on and deal with it. Firstly there was nothing else that I needed to do that was going to help out. All I needed right now was to make sure that I h

Lyra's POV. One of the most amazing things that I had ever done in my entire life had to be the fact that I have been able to understand the difference between the different timelines and how to navigate through it without losing my mind.I was only committed to one and that needed all the time in the world just to be able to sort many differences out."So... Are you a little bit worried by what this might bring and how longMy heart was pounding so hard that I almost felt it leaping out of my chest. My hands were tight but I had only one will.I needed to live, even if that was the last thing that I did. There was basically no option for me and I wasn't going to take chances. "If she gets away, we are doomed!" Somebody yelled from behind me. I was a little bit irritated by the way they were acting but I couldn't blame them either. It wasn't entirely there fault the way things were going, they had just been conditioned to think that Selene wielded the entire power. I also thought

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 62

Lyra's POV. I didn't think that there was going to be a change in the fact, "I didn't have the right to change the mandate but there wasn't anything more the other day." "Are you sure that there's something wrong with the issues at hand or is this something else that you need to tell me?" Camille headed towards me with the intention to get more information out of me but that was not going to happen. I had already figured out that there was going to be a little bit of a mix up here and there and I was waiting to see how long it was going to take and what exactly I had to do to sort out the entire problems. I had taken a deep breath yet refused to look straight into what she wanted me to do. I was thinking about how long it was going to take for me to be able to sort out a few things but here I was, dealing with more issues than none. "Is this really a thing or...?"I took a deep breath refusing to answer my question because it was harmful to my person and I would love to have the
