The Alpha is dead

Abena POV 

Attention everyone! That's the pack orator's voice; and immediately everywhere returned to silent.

It is with deepest regrets and sorrow I hereby announce the death of Asher Throne. The Alpha of all Alpha’s of Winterhaven pack.

While he will be missed by us all, here is the death wish of the alpha before passing away to join the moon goddess to look after us...

"I want my new wife, Abena  to remain the Luna until she chooses any of my princes as her fated mate and together they shall rule this pack with honor and diversity. I have bestowed her with the breath of life, only she has the power to heal now!"

We will commence the burial of the late Alpha afterward the new Luna will choose his alpha and together they'll be marked. The pack Orator announced.

I froze immediately, I can't believe what I just heard now. My alpha and husband is dead, and of all days, he chose to die, on the day which is supposed to be my happiest day ever.

I knew he was sick, he told me himself that he's dying from prostate cancer and might not live long to protect me, but never did it occur to me, it's so soon. That night, he saved me, I was already dead but it was out of his compassion, he bestowed me with the power of breath of life. You might ask me what I mean; but he gave me the power of life and death. I decide who's going to live, die or suffer now.

I'm short of words and emotions, I don't know what my life journey or stay in this pack will become now. The king himself has been the only reason while I accepted to come back again. Not even the title of becoming Luna; here holds a lot of memories for me to forgive nor forget.

The loud trumpet bolted me back from my delusional train of thought.

I really need to start firing some staff and this announcer is on my watchlist.

"Here comes the crowned princes of the Winterhaven pack!" The Orator announced and everyone stood at their feet... except me!

I watch as they match down from the stair hallways into the peoples palace. I looked at their faces, guilted with burning hatred for them.

They're my tormentors!

"Wait, why is everyone cold to see them, is it that the king has died or these four bastards have made every living thing in Winterhaven pack a tool subject to their mischievous acts?"

I shook my head in disappointment, after all these while, they haven't changed a bit nor have they become the Almighty as they really want; and what am I expecting from the four identical quadruplets who have the same mind link? I know, I'm not surprised at least, they didn't meet the same girl, who is weak and with no wolf.

Sorry, if I have forgotten to tell you about my wolf awakening but that same night I was dead, my wolf came out and lay beside me crying. That's how the king heard it and came for my rescue. Her name is White and we promised each other to get what we truly deserve.

"My Lady?!" The Chief elder called out. It seems they've been talking to me and my silly mind has been playing a hide and seek game with me.

"These are the late king four four princes, mere looking at them, they're ready and being groomed for this very day to come; they're handsome, fearless, compassionate and above all has the warrior spirit." The Orator said.

"Wait, what! Compassionate?" Are these guys a joke to y'all? Or is the Orator under some durex because the entire clan is not even chanting to them when they come in and not just that, I've seen and known them more than anyone else. All they need is the Alpha title and they'll grow even worse.

"My Queen!" The pack elder called out again and I almost tripped from my throne.

I looked at them standing in front of me, they're at my mercy now and I can't just enjoy this more, when they will depend on me to pick one of them. I stood up and walked majestically around them, with my gown sweeping the floor dust. My eyes darted at them and my fingers numb twitching against each other.

"Mmmm, what am I smelling, Wolf?" White cried happily and I shut her down immediately. She can't keep silent all these while and now telling me things that aren't in my good book. I do not care if she smelled right or wrong but I'm never letting my hard work blow off because of some wolf thing promise.

"Sorry, but I see no potential in any of them, they're like normal slaves here, but if they're willing to take my personal training, that way I assure the people's palace and entire park of Winterhaven, indeed they're ready." I said and went back to my seat.

There was a loud hum from the crowd, it seems nobody wants them to be crowned the alpha. I can tell from their immediate reaction of good news and hope given to them.

"And who gave you the right to choose who is capable or not?" Zain snapped.

"I command you now to pick one of us or I'll be forced to do so myself" Damon added.

I was just there smiling at them, their ignorance of not knowing what's up in their asses because I swear to the moon goddess, I will end their lives right here and now.

Immediately I mind linked all of them and wrecked it. They all began to scream in pain, I'm in their head now and forever...

"Have you seen who gave me the right now?" I asked sarcastically. Maybe they're absent when the blood letter was read or maybe it's ignorance that is really their problem here.

"Yes, please make it stop!" They begged in unison.

I quite enjoyed it for some minutes before I stopped. This is just the beginning of everything that is about to happen between us and now.

"I don't want any of this to go wrong, but I cannot tolerate disrespect in my pack. And until one of you proves his capabilities, there won't be the crowning of alpha." I retorted.

I smiled cunningly, it's going to be a long ride for all of us and I'm going enjoy to torture them.

"What are we to do my lady?" Kael asked. His face was laced with pity. He's been my favorite secret crush when I was still a weak slave but after he joined his brothers to be running their small evils, he has joined my bad book now.

"What to do is very simple and hard too, but it will be worth it, you boys will obey my orders and until I say one of you is ready, then we will crown an alpha and next time address me as your luna or I will have you punished."
