Chapter 2 - The strange house

(Nyla's Pov)

Chased by the wolf my feet stopped in front of a huge dark house!

My body was out of breath and my legs were frozen, I was running for life and without giving it any second thought the situation made me knock on that house door.

I kept on knocking on the door with all my strength while my mouth was shouting "HELP ME, PLEASE" My loud voice didn't attract anyone from inside but the wolf outside.

The wolf was coming closer and closer to me as if he couldn't wait to hunt down his prey, scratching his paw on the ground full of mud he declared war on me, he was about to jump on my body suddenly, the door behind me opened and the wolf took a step back!

Something strange happened at that moment, strange enough to force that wolf to leave!

I took a deep breath and turned my face towards the door, my entire self was awestruck at the sight.

A beautiful man with light brown eyes was standing in front of me, his shoulders were broad and his shirtless chest was hinting at his masculinity.

"Who are you?" he asked in his extremely deep sexy voice but the look on his face was serious or perhaps annoyed!!

"A wolf is after me and somehow I ended up here but my legs are too scared to go back home, please let me stay the night here?" I answered his question in my soft polite tone.

He looked me straight in the eye and slightly tilted his head to the left "we don't allow strangers" His words were sharp like a dagger which made me realize that he is not easy to deal with.

"I am a lady, and you shouldn't let a lady leave alone at this time" words left my mouth with confidence as I stood strong against his decision. He raised his eyebrows and said "just one night" has said that he went inside and I quickly followed him.

The house was dark from inside as well, long windows were covered with the black curtains, and huge stairs going up as if they were touching the sky, and a spooky vibe floating inside the whole house!

"Your house is kind of scary" my mouth couldn't help but say those words and as my voice reached his ears he stopped walking.

"If you don't like it, you can leave," he said turning his head to me!

I started laughing like a fool to avoid the interaction with him surprisingly, he came closer to me and my mouth stopped showing teeth, he bent to my height and whispered in my ear

"There are many wolves in this forest and they all are hungry for human blood, so be careful or you might die" his scary words attacked my heart with fear, my blood started rising and my legs were shaking "how can you live in this scary forest?" I asked.

He didn't reply to my question instead he pointed his hand in the direction of a corner room and said "go sleep in there and do not disturb anyone" his words were commanding, so I listened to him at once.

As I stepped inside the room all I could see was darkness and the coldness in the air.

There were no lights except the moonlight coming through the huge window giving a certain shine to the room!

"This house is very strange" I murmured to myself while my eyes were fixed on the darkness of that room.

I found my way to the bed despite the darkness in the room, the bed was comfortable and perhaps the only good thing in the entire house. I took a deep sigh and rested my head on the pillow, closing my eyes I went to the world of dreams.

The next morning, my eyes opened from the strong sunray coming through the window. I got up from the bed and walked over to the living room but my eyes widened from the sight.

Four handsome guys were eating breakfast on the table though the guy from last night was nowhere to be seen!

I approached them with my slow footsteps, and greeted in my sweet tone "Hello, I am Nyla" they all screamed together and I could tell that they were surprised by my presence in their house.

They all gathered in the corner and one of them asked "who are you, a hunter?" I furrowed my brows with doubt as his words were hard to understand and just when I was about to say something, the guy from last night interrupted our conversation "she is a guest, a wolf was chasing her last night, so I allowed her to stay for one night" His words flashed happiness on their faces.

"You should leave now as you promised," he said and I nodded my head but strangely one of the guys cut his words in the middle "she can't go home, there was a bad landslide last night, all roads are blocked for two days" my mouth was wide opened and the first thought came to mind was "what am I supposed to tell, Aunt Isla?" My mind was lost in worried thoughts.

"Then take care of her, count me out" has said that the guy from last night walked over to the woods.

The guy who suggested my stay for two days came closer to me with a warm smile, standing close to me he said "let me introduce you to all of us, I am Jax, the youngest sibling, the guy with blue hair is Luka, he is shy, that guy who is smiling wide at you is Sean, he loves smiling, and the last one is Kai, he is like an innocent child" Their introduction made me realize how unique they're but I was only curious about the one person who helped me last night, and so I let my curiosity flew in my words "Who is he, the arrogant tall guy?" he smiled at me and said "Ronan, our older brother, he is different and not the one to mess with, he hates strangers but I am surprised that he allowed you to stay here " Jax's words raised my curiosity more about the family and the fact that they're living in the woods far from the main town but I controlled my emotions and didn't let my mouth speak another word.

As I was engaging more with them in the conversation, Ronan rushed inside slamming the door and said "hunters are here, hide"
