Chapter 13 - A big problem!

(Ronan's pov)

"What is going on?" I asked.

Austin sighed and replied "there is a ceremony going on for Roger!" I furrowed my brows and asked Austin to tell me the whole story.

"Roger is the next Alpha that's what everyone believes and now he brought his mate along with him to show his power." My mind went blank, I was out of words more like I was afraid of losing the position of Alpha to Roger, my stepbrother!

Roger and I have always been enemies, he doesn't like me nor do I.

I was still managing my anger with him but one day out of nowhere Dad announced him as the Alpha. I was heartbroken, I was his first son yet he didn't even consider my strength.

I am weak in comparison to Roger because of an accident that happened a long time ago, I was hit by a car when I was a kid and from that onwards my powers turned timid and my Dad started seeing me as incapable!

My mother was one of the powerful Luna but she died giving birth to Jax. My life was shattered yet Dad soon chose another mate for himself, Roger's mother, Tara.

No way in the world, I would let Roger take the throne away from me, I promised my mother that I would never let her down and now it was time where I should tell everyone the real truth.

"I am going to challenge Roger in front of everyone for the Alpha's position!" Words left my mouth like a sharp dagger.

"Are you sure about this?" Austin asked.

I looked into his eyes and replied "I am sure, this is my only chance!"

Without wasting anymore minute, we headed to the woods where the ceremony was happening and upon reaching there I witnessed every clan member enjoying themselves and cheering for Roger!

"Stop this ceremony!" I groaned angrily and everyone turned their heads toward me.

"What are you doing here?" Roger asked as he furrowed his brows!

"I am here to interrupt your sh*t" My words changed the expression on his face and his smile from before disappeared within a second.

"What do you want?" Roger's mother asked taking two steps towards my direction!

"I am here to challenge your son!" As soon as the words left my mouth people started whispering in the crowd.

"Father already announced me as the Alpha!" Roger defended himself.

I looked at him and smiled "I can always challenge you or anyone can, that's the rule!" I reminded him of the rule created by every clan.

As we were arguing, Dad walked over to us Interrupting our conversation!

"I heard everything, and as per the rule he can always challenge you though you're not the Alpha yet, so for that I have decided something else!" For the first time Dad took my side because I accepted his condition before to kill Lagoona tribe's descendant!

"You shouldn't do this, Ronan is not as strong as Roger!" Roger's mother took his side in front of father.

"Do not interfere with the rules!" Father shut her up!

The air filled with tension and every single person fixed their gaze on father to hear his words.

"There will be a competition, you two will compete against each other and the winner will be the one to take the throne of the Alpha!" His words were fair for both Roger and me.

"First round is simple, bring your mates and their will be a competition among them!" As soon as he mentioned the competition about mates, I got scared because unlike Roger, my mate is a human and that too an innocent one.

I took a glimpse at Roger's face among the chaos and his face brightened up with happiness and the reason behind his happiness was his mate, Natalie, she is one of the strongest and comes from a very powerful clan.

Nyla can never beat her!!!!!

"The competition will be held here tomorrow." Father said.

"But what is the competition?" Roger asked with curiosity.

"You will find out tomorrow!" Having said that, he left.

One by one everyone from the clan left, and I stood there alone as if my feet were frozen!

I thought I would always keep Nyla away from my mess but things turned upside down and now she has become my first key to the throne!
