WRITER'S POV

As soon as Sherleen rushed out and handed Charlotte to Thane, Thane rushed to the Clinic with Tyla by his side.

Even without saying a word to each other, the tension between Tyla and Thane could be felt even from miles away.

Thane held the little girl tightly while Tyla was right behind him.

Even with what was happening to her, the child looked around with big, curious eyes, but Thane felt the weight of the world pressing on his chest.

Her presence stirred questions he couldn’t answer.

The moment she’d called him “Father” something inside him broke.

He couldn’t ignore the feeling that he’d seen her mother before…maybe once, maybe in passing…but he couldn’t remember anything more.

“Someone take her!!!” Thane yelled as one of the pack nurses came running and takes Charlotte to a room for treatment and check up while Thane and Tyla followed behind.

“Her shifting ” the pack nurse repeated, taking the girl’s vitals.
