6. The beginning of magic power

"Are you okay, madam?" Lora inquired when she noticed a woman with gray, disheveled, curly hair clutching a fragile wooden staff. The woman had wrinkled skin, a pointed nose with a curved-down tip, and a mole on her upper cheekbone below her eye.

"Madame," Lora said again, perplexed as the woman remained silent and did not answer. Lora quickly dismissed the negative thought that it was necessary to roll the woman into the river and focused on her initial goal of assisting her.

"Lady, could you please wake up?" Lora asked again, but the woman remained frail. With no one around, Lora realized she had some money tucked in her chest and went straight to the healer to purchase some potions.

The healer's location was only three minutes away from the river, and Lora quickly arrived and purchased a potion to wake people up from unconsciousness as well as a cure for all diseases.

"I only have a little money, perhaps enough to pay for all these potions," Lora lamented.

"You don't need to worry about the lack; you can make up for it later. You pass this location almost every day; if you have money, you can pay me; if you don't, it's not a problem for me," the healer reassured Lora.

Lora didn't have any money, but she believed in helping someone in need. She could also eat leftovers from groups and accept gifts from palace guests.

"Thank you; I'll make up the difference right away," Lora responded cheerfully before saying her goodbyes and returning to the lady who was still lying on the rock. Nobody else wanted to assist the helpless lady, perhaps because her appearance stood out from the rest of the pack.

"Madame," Lora said, bringing mint leaves and a rafflesia plant to the woman's nose with her hand. Lora helped the lady sit up after she opened her eyes for a few seconds.

"Madame, take a deep breath," Lora advised, assisting the lady in drinking the healer's elixir when her breathing began to regulate.

The healer had combined numerous components to treat all diseases and rejuvenate the body, and as a result, the lady felt much better right away.

"Thank you, lovely lady," she said.

"Madam, get some rest. It may take some time for you to resume your journey. What are your plans?" Lora inquired.

"I'm heading to a far-off area. I see a lot of tailed monsters in this place. I've heard stories that wolves and witches would never unite here," the woman stated.

"Witch? You're a witch, right?" Lora asked, her heart tingling with excitement since she had never seen a witch's figure directly in her eyes. Her mother's face was a foggy memory from when she was a baby, and it was the last time she saw the witch's face, which was much blurrier in her baby eyes.

"I am indeed a witch."

"Shh," Lora whispered, putting her index finger to her lips.

"You could get hurt here," Lora warned.

"It did, in fact, forewarn. The land is not friendly to wizards. Lora immediately remembered how brutally she had been tortured. Don't let this stranger be hurt," Lora thought.

"I know. You poor thing, you don't know anything and yet you get a lot of torment here. Is that correct?" asked the witch once more. Lora exclaimed, realizing that this was a portion of the witch's magic.

"Can you read my mind?" Lora inquired.

"Lora, you have witch blood, thus you must be very strong. I'm Rosaline Salla, I will give you courage," Rosaline had vowed.

"What is strength, what is power?" she inquired.

"You have the ability to read people's minds; this ability will lead you to become a skilled negotiator or other profession in the future."

"But, can you assist me in getting out of here?"

"You can, but you must believe in this power."

Lora forgot about her washing aim and concentrated on wanting to have that strength as a provision for herself in the future.

"Now look me square in the eyes."

Rosaline gently touched Lora's cheek with her hand. Rosaline's body heat went into Lora's body. She let it go since there was a power transfer going on.

"When I transfer electricity, ignore the glare," Rosaline added. Lora followed all of the instructions. She ignored the stare in order to build strength.

"Get Lora out of here, Moon Goddess."

The heart's request manifests itself as a delicate and powerful power transfer mechanism. Lora's body became hot and a touch sore as fresh energy entered her system. She lived as an ordinary person for eighteen years because she had nothing to be proud of.

"Done," Rosaline said. Lora's body felt weightless, unlike previously because it was now filled with something.

"Thank you," Lora said. Yet she must understand that she cannot read Rosaline's thinking.

"I don't think I can read your thinking," Lora said.

"Yeah, I am the power owner," she said. Lora nodded, wanting to rush back to the palace for a strength test.

"Remember that your talent is a closely guarded secret. Never boast about your superiority," Rosaline gave the instruction.

"Alright," Lora said.

Rosaline's silhouette faded, and she vanished when Lora turned to inspect the pail she'd carried. Lora exclaimed in astonishment when she didn't see Rosaline standing next to her.

"Madam Rosaline, Rosaline!" She called out, but no one picked up. Rosaline vanished like dust. Lora was given the authority.

For the time being, forget about that power because Lora was preoccupied with doing the laundry. Yet she noticed something strange in her chest, like if something was stuck. She retrieved the garments in the vicinity and discovered the banknote intact, just as it had been before she purchased the medicine from the healer.

She quickly completed her clothes and returned to the healer. She had to make up the difference in medicine payments.

"You don't have to pay for all the money I felt was adequate, honest girl. Simply save the money for later," the healer stated. Lora rolled her hands back. She felt half-heartedly awful for promising someone to thank them before they brought the laundry home.

When she entered the room, she made every effort to force Barry. Her pal appeared to be in love, since her cheeks were flushed. Her mind was racing with images of attractive people. Lora sat on the bed as Barry assembled the study table.

Lora examined her friend's face once more, and the image appeared in her eyes as if she had seen him at school. His name was Pablo, the student next door.

"Pablo was looking for you, Barry," Lora teased. Barry then gave a modest smile.

"How do you know?" Barry inquired, his eyes gleaming.

"How do you know?" she questioned.

"I never informed anyone about Pablo," Barry explained.

Lora laughed, knowing that her power was a closely guarded secret, and she devised a solution to the query.

"I caught you sneaking eyes at Pablo," Lora admitted.

"Looks like I'll have to hold back because I might get caught," Barry said, embarrassed. "Give him a sign, show him you like him," Lora advised.

"But I'm an omega, nothing more than a servant," Barry retorted. Lora embraced Barry while looking for ways to improve their situation.
