7. Special invitations

"I don't think Pablo is that type of guy. He's a nice guy and not from a strict family," said Lora encouragingly. Barry was the nicest girl she'd ever known and deserved to be happy.

Instantly, Lora stopped smiling when something whispered in her ear, and she saw Barry's happy face and thanked her. It was a hint for her to guide her friend because Barry was a stupid person when she was in love.

"You look beautiful, and I'm sure Pablo will be charmed by you."

Barry jogged in front of the mirror. Her face looked cute, with neck-length blond curls and a mole on the right cheek.

"You are beautiful," Lora complimented again.

"Thanks," said Barry happily.

"Be confident and show him that you really like him. Don't waste the opportunity to get close to the man you like."

The conversation flowing between them was typical of two teenage girls. They rarely talked about personal matters because of work for a long time.

Harvey's birthday party was an opportunity for them. For the first time, the future Alpha's birthday event invited all pack members.

"Then what about you, Lora?"

"About what?"

"Do you like someone?" she asked.

Lora's cheeks flushed red, and Harvey's face flashed through her mind.

"Harold?" guessed Barry. She noticed the way Harold looked at Lora.

"Yeah, he gently looked at me, unlike Harvey, who was always cold when looking at me. But the meaning of that gaze spoke otherwise. Precisely, cold stares mean love, and the coldest boy makes me flutter."

"Lora, actually, you don't deserve the way you were treated yesterday. You are a good person," said Barry.

"I don't know. I myself don't know about my parents."

Both of them were shocked when they saw that the box contained a very pretty dress that matched the color of the glasses mask in Lora's bag. It was a bubble-sleeve dress with glitter beading on the fabric, and the metallic color looked shiny. The length of the dress was just right, reaching Lora's ankles.

"What a beautiful dress," said Barry.

"Harvey actually gave me a dress," Lora revealed. Her heart was pounding as she read the writing on the invitation card.

"It's a special invitation from Harvey to Lora," Lora said.

"Wow, that's amazing. Lora, you don't have to help me with the party preparations, let me do it. You have to dress beautifully. I've heard that the birthday party for Alpha candidates is a place to find a mate."

"But the official invitation wasn't from him, Luna was the official one? I couldn't get an invitation from her, so it was my job to prepare the party with you," Lora started to feel low. She felt it was inappropriate to come to the party.

"Trust me, you have to come because you got a special invitation from Harvey," Barry suggested.

"Ah, I'm not sure."

The party would last three more days, and there was still a lot to be prepared. Lora was still thinking about the invitation, and she was still hesitant to come. Especially when Tina's scary face appeared in her mind, that girl would definitely beat her to a pulp.

**

Alpha candidates were destined for Luna. The next generation was Luna's lovely boy, Harvey. Right on his eighteenth birthday, the signs that a soul mate was coming must be obvious.

Luna wanted a respectable woman in the pack to be her son's match. But actually, in Harvey's heart, there was only Lora.

The girl hung in Harvey's mind. It started with pity because Lora was constantly being bullied, but those feelings changed, and he began to think about Lora more and more. That girl should be so beautiful, but she was covered in dust and dirt. He was also curious about Lora's true origins.

He wrote the invitation directly so that Lora could attend the party without having to be a slave. He dared to take risks, he was in the front line of defense, and he had to be strong for Lora.

"Mom," Harvey greeted when he saw Luna entering his room.

"Harvey, are you ready to meet your mate?" asked Luna while stroking her son's hair. She loved Harvey more than anything because there was a secret.

Harvey shook his head, pretending he didn't understand what was going on. He wanted to rebel and reveal that Lora was the name of his mate, but he understood that Lora would receive the bad consequences.

"What kind of girl do you want?" asked Luna again.

"A girl who loves me. I don't need a lot of criteria. Let my heart choose her," said Harvey.

"My son has grown," said Luna as she embraced Harvey.

The weather in the werewolf country had been cloudy lately, the dark sky reflecting Harvey's confused heart. He wanted to introduce Lora to the world but was unsure how to do so.

"Invitations have been sent out, all the girls must have come here to meet you," the butler announced.

"Only the girls?" Harvey corrected.

"Of course, it's not a bachelor party."

"Okay, I feel lucky to be a candidate for the next alpha," said Harvey proudly.

"She looks different," Luna thought to herself. "Yeah, you're right!" she said aloud. There was a secret she was keeping from Harvey to prevent him from getting hurt. Someday he would know, but not now. Luna hugged her son tightly, proud of all the things she had done to prepare for the party. The first son's birthday had to be as lively as possible, as it was the time to find a mate.

The five servant girls nodded obediently, thinking of ways to quickly clean the hall. The room was very wide, and only five girls were cleaning it. It was draining, especially since the hall had just been used for a meeting between the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma.

As soon as Lora opened the hall, the room fell silent and cold. She stepped inside, followed by four of her friends.

"We can clean all of this," Lora said optimistically.

"Lora..." Barry whispered in her right ear.

"Yes?"

"You're invited to a party," Barry said.

"Shh.. they can hear you," Lora warned.

"Wait a minute, Lora, do you have any high heels?"

Lora gasped. She had never worn party high heels before. What should she wear to Harvey's birthday party?
